September 14, 2005. The hemispheric view of the 'Ophelia' system. It would not surprise me if the peripheral flow to the west of "Ophelia' actually caught up with this low category storm and was absorbed creating a spontaneous and sudden wind event that would surprise all the emergency response. There could conceivably be an increase in rain and potential flooding. NOAA is not taking that approach and therefore I only present it here as a possiblities. The other aspect of interest is the heat concentration near Africa and the V spaced pattern of air over Canada. In the water vapor satellie there are small vortices forming off that air masse.  Posted by Picasa
