What is the genetic basis for removing mustang and wild burros from USA rangeland?
The US Bureau of Land Management (click here for statistics) is always under attack for man-handling "the range" in the USA for a variety of reasons. In the case of wild mustangs, it is because they are mishandling them.
The wild mustangs of the USA west are originally from those horses brought by settlers. They are an ancient lineage. To date, the BLM has initiated all kinds of control measures, however, they have no genetic basis to identify the horses. Before any round-ups can continue the BLM must test the horses genetically to determine the lineage we should all be proud of preserving.
When the BLM has determined the ancient lineage, they then can eliminate the horses least displaying those genetics. To prevent too much inbreeding, from time to time new horses will have to be introduced to complement the lineage.
Interested groups have every reason to be upset about the handling of the American Mustang by the BLM and should look for an injunction to end the random practices yet to be proven to protect the lineage so much as destroy it.
Some of the horses are a full-size horse, but, most are 56 inches at the shoulder.

Denver - The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (click here) must utilize adoption, sterilization and roundups to drastically reduce the number of wild horses and burros on public lands, an advisory panel suggests.
The bureau's Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board, a citizen group of wild horse and burro stakeholders, met in Washington, D.C., last week, to advise the bureau on best practices....
...But activists worry federal agencies might loosen rules and allow horses to be sold for slaughter, as has happened in the past....
..."These are tough situations that require tough choices to be made," said board member Steven Yardley, a Utah cattle rancher. "We are facing an ecological disaster."
In 2018, Congress blocked an agency proposal to sell captured wild horses to Canada and Mexico for slaughter. Both countries sell horse meat to Asia. A year earlier, Congress blocked a proposal for "humane euthanization" of thousands of wild horses.
The Bureau of Land Management plans to ask Congress for $5 billion over the next 15 years, or about $3,750 per animal per year, to bring population levels down, said William Pendley, acting director of the agency....
..."You take a band of horses and run them for mile after mile with a helicopter where they're driven into a [fenced] trap," said former advisory board member Ginger Kathrens, a Colorado-based documentary filmmaker who has filmed the bureau's horse-gathering operations. "Some of them break their legs, some are traumatized. It's just inhumane."...
...The "ovariectomy via colpotomy" procedure involves inserting a metal rod in the animal and severing the horse's ovaries....
The ovaries are still intact.
...Wild horses, however, might not be to blame for destruction of rangelands and don't necessary need to be removed from them, some of those who commented at the meetings maintained.
"Wild horses are targets of a sophisticated propaganda campaign aimed at convincing the public that they are destroying public lands, even though 88 percent of BLM land has no wild horses on it," statement released by the American Wild Horse Campaign said.
The group said the bureau sought to remove the horses and "replace them with commercial livestock." It blamed oil and gas fracking, mining and livestock grazing for the degradation of public lands.

Cameraman Matt Coble said he watched in horror as the Busbys Flat fire came towards him over a hill.

Coble described the situation as “quite scary” and said birds dropped out of the sky in front of him.
A Rappville resident, Danny Smith, told reporters on the scene: “I’ve lost the bloody sheds, the house, lost everything. We might have saved the second place but everything else has gone.”
Also losing his home in the blaze was 83-year-old John Duncan. His daughter Carol has put together a GoFundMe page to help her father, who she says “lost everything except the clothes he was wearing”. By Wednesday morning the page had raised more than $8,870....

The original reason the students began to protest was due to a law that would allow Beijing to extradite citizens of Hong Kong. Were any of those to be extradited political candidates?

Hong Kong - Hong Kong’s democrats (click here) romped to a landslide and symbolic majority in district council elections after residents turned out in record numbers on Sunday to vote following six months of anti-government protests in the embattled city.
In a rare weekend lull in the unrest that has roiled the financial hub, democratic candidates across the city of 7.4 million secured more than half of the 452 district council seats for the first time, against a strongly resourced and mobilised pro-establishment opposition.
When the results began trickling in after midnight, including upset wins for democrats against heavyweight pro-Beijing opponents, some voting centers erupted in loud cheers and chants of “Liberate Hong Kong. Revolution Now,” — a slogan of many protesters on the streets over the past half year....

Spenser didn't have the power to oppose anything Trump wanted as an "ACTING." Richard Spenser is being sacrificed for Trump's political dialogue.
It's Trump's base that is the problem. It is all political. Trump's base probably includes a fair number of Russian operatives. At any rate, Trump himself has created a truly cruel atmosphere regarding human rights; dismissing war crimes is all part of that.

Gallagher was acquitted of a murder charge in the stabbing death of an Islamic State militant captive, but a military jury convicted him of posing with the corpse while in Iraq in 2017. He was demoted to chief.
Trump tweeted, “This case was handled very badly from the beginning” and urged those involved to “Get back to business!”
Gallagher filed a complaint with the inspector general accusing a rear admiral of insubordination for defying Trump’s actions....

The rise and catastrophic downfall (click here) of WeWork founder and former CEO Adam Neumann has been chronicled in gleeful detail across the international financial press in the wake of his company’s ill-fated attempt at a public offering — which resulted in disastrous revelations about the company’s mismanagement, its devaluation and, ultimately, Neumann’s resignation.
But a new Vanity Fair article by Gabriel Sherman, titled “Inside the Fall of WeWork,” asserts that Neumann’s “millennial entitlement gone insane” and guru-like “egomaniacal glamour” extended beyond the business world and into the world of Middle East diplomacy.
Neumann, according to the Vanity Fair article, believed that WeWork “was even capable of solving the world’s thorniest problems. Last summer, some WeWork executives were shocked to discover Neumann was working on Jared Kushner’s Mideast peace effort. According to two sources, Neumann assigned WeWork’s director of development, Roni Bahar, to hire an advertising firm to produce a slick video for Kushner that would showcase what an economically transformed West Bank and Gaza would look like.”...

He’s not off to a particularly great start.
The senior White House adviser and presidential son-in-law is in the wealthy Gulf nation for a US-led conference, dubbed the “Peace to Prosperity Workshop.” It’s intended to build support for the economic portion of the Trump administration’s Israeli-Palestinian peace plan — part of the so-called “deal of the century” Kushner has been working on for more than two years — which the White House released ahead of the conference.
The plan is billed as “a vision to empower the Palestinian people to build a prosperous and vibrant Palestinian society,” and the administration claims it has “the potential to facilitate more than $50 billion in new investment over ten years.”

But critics have slammed the proposal, likening it to a “real estate brochure” — complete with glossy promotional photos from Palestinian aid programs that the Trump administration has cut.
For one, the plan lacks any details about a political solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. That’s by design: Kushner decided to put out the economic half of the plan first before releasing the political half sometime later this year, saying that releasing the economic piece was “less controversial.”...

Before WeWork CEO Adam Neumann (click here) invites investors to his Chelsea headquarters, he sometimes directs employees to “activate the space,” for example by throwing a party. Then, when the investor arrives, he casually points out the great work atmosphere.

He has dismissed reports that portrayed WeWork as a real estate company, despite the fact that the bulk of its revenue comes from subletting office space.
Some venture capital firms were cautious, but gave him money anyway. “Let’s give him some money and he’ll figure it out,” Benchmark Capital Partners’ Bruce Dunleavie recalled thinking.
Manhattan property owner Joel Schreiber bought a 33-percent stake in the company for $15 million in 2010. “I didn’t negotiate — I said yes,” Mr. Schreiber said. “I loved Adam’s energy.”
Neumann likes to treat visitors to Tequila shots, according to the Journal. In one case, he convinced Jared Kushner to take shots in Philadelphia bar after touring a property....
Justice Ginsberg needs a boost to her immune system, either gamma globulin or a straight-up infusion of WBCs, but, she needs assistance. She is in her 80s. They have trouble with their immune system.
None of this is abnormal for her age. An annoyance, sure, but not abnormal. She is a good example of the special considerations doctors should be afforded the older American. We are living longer and the physicians that care for them need to conduct the proper assessments when treating our elderly.

The widows received their husband's metals and the Russia people received lies.
Putin has perfected (it take much to perfect it) Trump's ability to lie in plain sight.
To begin, when I state Communists regard people as chattel to the government here is still another example. Five nuclear scientists, at least they carry the title of a nuclear scientist, were killed while engaging in some sort of nuclear experiment. Five. It is not possible for Putin to simply replace these scientists and continue to move forward with experiments. Something has to be done about the Russian nuclear program.

An accident at a Russian military test site (click here) that claimed the lives of five nuclear agency workers and sent radiation levels spiking is likely to remain shrouded in mystery, after Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Friday said information around the incident would stay "strictly classified."
The explosion, which happened during the summer near the village of Nyonoksa, about 30 miles west of the port city of Severodvinsk, prompted widespread international speculation that the accident involved a nuclear-powered cruise missile, known as the Burevestnik or Skyfall.
Although Russia is developing such a missile, Peskov has repeatedly declined to say what weapons were specifically tested.
"Tests of new weapon systems were involved. For this reason it is only natural that the investigation being carried out in this connection cannot be public," Peskov said, according to Russian state-run news agency Tass.
Rosgidromet, the Russian meteorological agency, reported a brief spike in radiation levels following the incident, but Russian officials called off the evacuation of the village.....
Putin also claimed that Russia had developed an "invincible" missile that can deliver a warhead at hypersonic speed, as well as other weapons, including unmanned underwater vehicles capable of moving at very high speeds.
Russia's President Vladimir Putin awards Orders of Courage to the widows of the victims at a ceremony in Moscow.
"Russia still has the greatest nuclear potential in the world, but nobody listened to us," he said. "Listen now."
US and international military experts have taken Putin's words with a grain of salt. "Nobody knows how much is bluster," Richard Aboulafia, vice president of analysis at the aerospace and defense consultancy Teal Group, told CNN at the time....
Lies, lies and more lies. First Putin stated they were cleaning up a sunken ship in the water when the explosion occurred, then the Russian propaganda machine took over calling it a nuclear reactor mishap that amounted to nothing and now Putin in his address to the people of Russia states the deaths of five scientists was the price to pay for an advanced weapon.
Regardless of a new weapon or not, the deaths that occurred that day included others rather than just scientists, it reduced the brain trust of Russia and caused radiation distribution that reached all the way to Europe. This is not permissible by any First World country. Russia WAS an emerging economy, but, after breaking a treaty with Ukraine, it is anyone's guess what exactly is occurring inside the remains of the failed Soviet Union.
Russia doesn't know how to handle nuclear material, carry out safe and MEASURED experiments nor does it care about human life so long as it doesn't touch Putin's inner circle.

...Authorities (click here) took days to admit what happened, first spreading disinformation to the public before conceding that there was some kind of malfunction with a nuclear reactor.
It appears that the event increased radiation levels by four to 16 times the normal amount, causing nearby residents to scramble to get iodine, which curbs radiation absorbed in their bodies.
Fans of the hit HBO show Chernobyl — and the actual people who lived through that nuclear disaster — no doubt see a familiar pattern. A nuclear explosion (albeit a much smaller one in this case) takes place; affected citizens know little as the government obfuscates the truth; facts leak out; and the government finally admits its mistakes — but by then, it may be too late for some to recover.
“I’m not a critic of the government, but in this situation its behavior is ugly,’’ Dmitry Zhukov, who lives in a city close to the accident’s site, posted on a Russian social media website. “They pretended nothing scary happened.”...
If all this wasn't enough to know about communists and their lies, China is no better. There is still another report with video that shows a Chinese booster rocket falling from the sky and destroying a Chinese farmer's home and a portion of his crop. There is no report as to whether the farmer and his family are alive as their home and neighboring building were wildly on fire.
Something has to do done with countries that pretend to actually have a program that matches First World countries. They don't.
Chattel. Communist governments don't care about the people, they care about power over their fears of The West's invasion.
Pure paranoia. These are the fears repeated to people in Russia over and over.

Russian President Vladimir Putin (click here) gathered his national security council Friday in a bid to anticipate upcoming challenges faced by Moscow, as the country prepares for the new decade with some of the worst ties with the West and its U.S.-led NATO alliance since the dawn of the 21st century.
Western countries, especially any remaining NGOs, need to leave Russia if they haven't already.
Addressing senior officials at the Kremlin, Putin said Friday he planned "to discuss ways and prospects for the development of the Russian military in the upcoming decade, until 2030." He said the council would "outline the tasks we will have to deal with in order to guarantee Russia's national interests and security," specifically highlighting the role of the various branches of the armed forces "in ensuring Russia's sovereignty."
"As we can see, the world is facing serious threats and challenges. There are many uncertainty factors," Putin told officials. "Technology is developing rapidly, including military technology, while competition and rivalry are growing stronger and morphing into new forms."
What many uncertainty factors, like the lack of treaties because Russia never lives up to them? Uncertainty factors like the Russians don't know how to properly handle nuclear capacity? All the uncertainty factors lie with Russia. If Russia would end it's Old World Soviet military ideology, Russia would find a world still willing to entertain free enterprise in that country.
"There are old, smoldering conflicts in various regions of the planet, and new ones keep appearing. The leading countries are actively developing their offensive weapons." he continued. "I would like to add that the so-called 'nuclear club' is receiving new members, as you well know. We are also seriously concerned about the NATO infrastructure approaching our borders, as well as the attempts to militarize outer space."...
The old smoldering conflicts that exist are in Putin's head and his ideological reach to the past to put the old Soviet Union map back together. Offensive weapons are being explored because Putin restarted the weapons race. If he hadn't turned his back on humanity out of pure fear of "The West," he would have found countries are more than receptive to peace and non-proliferation.
Russia is in a dreamscape of expansionism right now and there is no dealing with Putin. He believes he has the power to overrun every other country if necessary to achieve his perverted goals of domination of the planet. Well, killing scientists isn't going to get him there.

While on the subject of guns, will authorities, including the FBI, check this weapon for it's legality.
"Colt" has modified this darn thing, calls it a "firing port weapon" when in fact it is an automatic weapon that is not allowed on the streets of the USA. It is M231 FPW.
I don't care what they call it. It's capacity is that of a machine gun. Yes, it is for sale.

It is about time the USA military stand up to Trump. He is trying to paint them as part of the "Deep State."
Trump is trying to destroy the CHAIN OF COMMAND. He would love nothing more than to head up the military WITHOUT the chain of command.
The USA military does not operate on the whims of dictators and Donald J. Trump did not follow the Chain of Command. He drops "legal orders" on the heads of Generals and Commanders and they feel compelled to act on them.
His decision making in the past few months has to be held to scrutiny. He has interrupted the CHAIN OF COMMAND in Syria and nearly destroyed a secret operation that brought the end of Bagdadi. In doing so he abandoned long held allies in the Middle East in the Kurds. He basically turned the Turks loose to kill at will for an expansionist plan into northern Syria when it was no threat to Turkey.
There are only a few things that enter into Trump's decision making; money, cost, popular opinion, including DEMANDS OF HIS BASE and Russia's demands for relief from the USA military. All of those factors are NOT FACTORS, they are not SUFFICIENT indicators of decisions to change assignments of the USA military.
THE ONLY FACTOR THAT ENTERS INTO THE COMMAND STRUCTURE IN THE USA IS IT'S NATIONAL SECURITY AND CONDITIONS ON THE GROUND. Conditions on the ground have to be moral and lawful in the eyes of the commanders.
Now, he is directly assaulting the CHAIN OF COMMAND in riding roughshod over the Joint Chiefs, the Special Forces, Generals and Commanders. It has to stop. He can't simply decide he is going to pardon American soldiers brought to justice by their peers. It is not proper procedure without bringing everyone else along and he does not have that support.
There are morals and ethics involved in the USA military. It is not just bombs and guns. Amerian soldiers are thinking people that understand the brevity of international standards of war. When those standards are violated there needs to be a trial to levy judgment. Levied judgment in the case of war crimes requires punitive measures.
The USA military command cannot look the other way when the Commander and Chief allows an understanding that he does not consider war crimes a serious offense. That is what is happening here. There can be no weak links in the chain. Trump is the weakest link among them and he has the most power to bring peril to the USA and it's military. Someone has to set him straight or call it what is and act on it.

President Donald Trump’s decision (click here) to grant clemency to three service members accused of war crimes amounts to “an insult to our entire system of military justice” and military order, according to the Senate’s top Democrat on defense issues.
In a scathing floor speech Thursday, Senate Armed Services Committee ranking member Jack Reed, D-R.I., blasted the moves as sending a “damaging” message not just to the troops involved in those judicial proceedings, but to the rest of the armed forces as well.
“(His) disregard risks undermining the confidence of our service members in the rule of law, especially those courageous enough to bring allegations of war crimes to light and testify against their teammates,” said Reed, an Army veteran who served as an infantry officer in the 1970s....

A bugging device was found in one of the mayor's office and no one is sure how long it has been there.
There are no shortage of suspects.

How long has it been there? Who put it there? (click here)
Those were just a few of the questions swirling around Flint City Hall after investigators said an electronic device had been discovered inside of an administrative office, within the mayor's office.
A press release from the Flint Police Department only confirmed a device had been found. Investigators initially called it a surveillance device, but later said they are determining whether it could record data.
ABC12 News reached out to former city officials within the Mayor's office. We were told former mayor Karen Weaver was unavailable because she is out of town.
ABC 12 also contacted former Flint public information officer Candice Mushatt. We were unable to reach her through the cell number previously provided to us, but Mushatt did respond in an email.
She said since no longer worked for the city, she would not be able to provide a comment, and she was unaware of any devices found. Mushatt also said she could not confirm if a device had been discovered....
