"The Internet" loses its grip on power. President Mubarak is absolutely correct.

Tell the Boy Scouts in Tahrir Square they won as many concessions as they are going to win.  They need to return to their lives and continue to anticipate open and transparent elections whereby their devoted President Mubarak, nor any of his family will be running.  He is instituting "Marshall Law" and I support that.  The country has to return to a 'stable and normal status' to inherent the powers of a democracy.  THERE IS NO INFRASTRUCTURE in place for President Mubarak's resignation.  HE IS NOT NIXON!
The reason Egypt is a powerful peace partner is BECAUSE of President Mubarak.  The focus HAS to shift to 'quality of life' of the Egyptian people and NOT a change in power.  To that end the USA needs ot chnage its policies to focus on the people and NOT the military.

The 'legacy of Middle East evil' as mapped out by Bush and Saddam DOES NOT EXIST.

This is insane.  Mubarak is not a monster.  The MIDDLE EAST and its inherent nature is the problem.  He is trying to carry out the will of the people while protecting them.  How proud would any Western Civilization be if after a month from his resignation there were blood baths in the streets?

The 'free media' has more issues than they are willing to face !

This should NEVER have been a 'black and white issue.'  EVER.  There is entirely too much 'grey' in this transition and it has to proceed well to a 'clear and discernable' end.

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak said (click title to entry - thank you) in a national address Tuesday evening that he will not step down until a new president is selected in elections scheduled for September.

Saying a peaceful transfer of power is underway, Mr. Mubarak refused to give in to demands of tens of thousands of anti-government protesters who took to the streets for a 17th straight day.

It is the second time in two weeks that Mubarak told the nation he will stay in office until September....

No one is pointing a finger at extremist groups eithre.  We all know the beginnings of this and it is about as innocent as it comes.  The country is not ready for the transition.  It is just that simple.  The Western Media needs to point out the 'greatness' of this Egyptian President and his devotion to transitioning Egypt as he also marshalled peace with Israel.  GROW UP !

If there are deaths and riots leading NOWHERE, we all know where to look!

Sen. Kyl Retiring to Give 'Others a Chance'

It would appear as though the USA is also seeing transitions as well. Let's hope this goes just as well. I never thought I would ever see the day. The Dems need to at least put their best foot forward. Kyl has been sliding in the polls since his last election. He could be elected again, but, he was reaching 'a margin' where that might not be the case, either.

President Mubarak has been a dedicated leader to Egypt. Today is no different.

I congratulate Egypt on their transition to an openly democratic government. It will be the second democracy in the Middle East.

The military has proven themselves to be capable of the restraint necessary to provide further stability during these uncertain times.

We are all watching and hoping for the best.

Lee actually resigned? That has a first for the GOP.

Lee issued a statement that, in part, reads: "It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of Western New York.  I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents.  I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness. "...

So soon as a mention of 'privacy' as a stimulus to the economy, all kinds of flags go up for the Right Wing.

They immediately think "nudity and kiddy porn."

That is the furthest from the truth and is actually even more reason why 'privacy' is vital to a democracy.

Earlier I mentioned a book about the founder of The Muslim Brotherhood.   I mentioned that for a specific reason.  But, let's just assume some innocent 'intelliectual' decides to borrow that book from a library.

That same person is seeking employment in a security company.  The person is qualified, more than qualified and his background check is complete and sent to the 'decision makers' for his employment.  They see the applicant reads some rather 'disturbing' material.  So, as a result the applicant that has read historical Muslim material is declined for a 'lesser applicant' without controversial library choices.

There is damage done to a well qualified applicant and it is all because employers can be voyeurs to their employees personal choices.

Republican politicians (click here) on Thursday called for a sweeping new federal law that would require all Internet providers and operators of millions of Wi-Fi access points, even hotels, local coffee shops, and home users, to keep records about users for two years to aid police investigations....

The damage goes beyond personal damage, it impacts social tones and ultimately political decisions.  Economies, quiet frankly, can 'stall' in 'variety' to bring about a very 'stale' market place.

So, if there are such problems in gainful employment how does that translate into economic dynamics?

What will occur and I am confident there are elements in the USA right now, is that people will 'see the profit' in limiting their choices.  Oh, the choices will be there for as long as there is a minimal market, but, the 'self-discipline' of individuals will create a limited demand for specific 'cultural' demands.  The producers of those cultural leanings will do fine, but, there won't be competition from other venues.  The markets will becomes saturated by 'the current fashion' and sales will drop off.  When there is LITTLE change in the market to encourage 'hunger for knowing' there are huge dynamics that create not just limited market choices, but, 'self-limited' political choices.  Elections become meaningless.

When a society becomes 'monotone' and steers away from 'certain topics' then 'the brain trust' is limited.  There is NO creative impact to effect markets.  The culture is stagnant, the knowledge base limited and all kinds of negative dynamics begin because of lack of imagination and creativity.  And let's face it, the people 'getting the jobs' are less qualified, yet more amenable to 'iconography.'

There in lies the dangers of 'the ideologue.'  The perfect world.  The perfect society.  The ANSWERS to all problems.

World domination to bring about a 'monotone' peace has within its definition GENOCIDE.  Where that so called 'peace' is a result of war, there will be significant deaths that accompany 'change.'

Where 'self-regulation' of choices due to invasion of privacy that results in 'real world' consequences exists SOCIAL BEHAVIORS will result.  That doesn't mean the society is even stable, so much as contained.

Part of what is witnessed in the Middle East is a 'break down' of BEHAVIORS in favor of freedom and choices within that freedom.  There was absolutely NO WAY of predicting what is now transpiring and while it seems 'correct' to pick on the intelligence agencies, the dynamics were ALWAYS there.  I am sure 'that potential' is in reports across years if not decades of assessments.

It is sort of like a bottle of champagne.  The potental for 'the pop' of the cork is inherent to champagne and its 'carafe.'  How does one ask an intelligence agency to 'predict' paradigm shifts?  It is a silly question, because, if intelligence gathering could predict 'social shifts' in behavior Wall Street would be using it for strategies.

The 'day before' the violence in Tunisia was basically the same as it always had been.  What occured when 'the cork popped' in Tunisia was a result of 'the human mind' and the choices it made 'that day.'  What occurred after Tunisia was somewhat more predictable, but, it occurred as quickly as the speed of light becuase 'the champagne' is basically the same across the political spectrum of Northern Africa.  The exception is Egypt and why Egypt is such a wonderful 'leader' for benevolent change in this area of the world.

Intelligence agencies can track weapons, drugs and the people that use both items to elicit power over others, but, it is really difficult to know what information received over social media will 'pop the cork' to explode a new paradigm.

Choice is an economy.  All by itself it is an economy.  The PRIVACY to 'explore' those choices is vital to the growth of those economies.  If there are unexpected events experienced as 'those choices' are made all we as human beings on Earth can hope for is peaceful people seeking their own justice in peaceful ways.  Otherwise, why reach for change if one is not going to be able to enjoy it?

Looks like the oversized potalo masher didn't ease the responsibility of actually counting votes.

Would this have happened to Former Speaker Pelosi? NO!  She knew down to the wire what she was looking at on any bill passage.  Wow.

...The Patriot Act, (click title to entry - thank you) a Bush Administration legacy, has typically been more strongly supported by Republicans than Democrats.
But the House leadership was blindsided Tuesday evening when a Patriot Act extension was defeated....

Blindsided is an interesting word.  Very interesting.

The New Republicans actually gave Boner something to cry about.

They did it 'their way.'  A 'true' Up or Down vote.  I think I am proud of them and if they are finding common ground with Democrats has I had hoped, then I know I am proud of them.

It is interesting to actually see a sincere "Up or Down Vote."  One might call it refreshing.

I also believe they are correct; in that; the Patriot Act was never patriotic.  It is over-reaching and institutes government in the "W"rong places.  The people of the USA need security NOT invasion of privacy for privacy.  If library records are exposed to 'any man' then freedom is lost, not just from the exposure, but, the impunded behavior of citiznens worried about their well being and choices.  Life becomes very politically oriented and is the beginnings of something terrible.  Allowing privacy actually should enhance the market place.

I found an article about 'jobs' from 2003 that I thought might be interesting.

It was from "Business Week."  The cover story is "THECEOOFHIPHOP."

The article I found interesting begins on page 40.  The title to the article is "JOBS: THE TURNING POINT IS HERE."  Yes, it is my personal copy and is in front of me as I write this.

Jobs from 2000, First Quater went from a little over 2% growth to an all time low in Third Quaater, 2001 of Negative 2%.  I don't suppose anyone remembers that?  It occurred right before September 11th.

The jobs rate recovered to a 'flat-line' during the Second Quarter of 2002 and continued there with occassion dips into the negative side for years.  Oddly, the GDP was remarkably well with increases to 6% by Second Quarter 2003.  It was probably war related as it was lackluster previous to that.

Hello?  Saddam was good for Bush /.Cheney-o-nomics.

The bottom line is that GROWTH was viewed in Real Estate, Construction, and Commercial Banking with top job creation falling to Health care and social assistance, Temporary-help services and Accommodations and food service with Government coming in fourth.

We lost construction, real estate and commercial banking at the end of 2008, so what the President is doing to BEGIN new venues of growth in the USA is 'spot on.'  The economy of the Republicans was dead in 2003 and simply died in 2008.

Go, President Obama, Go.

Cause and Effect?

Muzaffar al-Din Shah Qajar (left), king of Persia from 1897-1907, granted a concession in 1901 to William Knox D’Arcy (1849-1917) (right), a British investor, to explore for oil in southern Iran. D’Arcy never visited Iran or any part of the Middle East. He became the first director of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company in 1909.  (Click here)

Certainly every Right Wing Nut recognizes this gentlemen.  I probably don't have to say a word.

I said to myself, "Self?  I wonder if there is any relationship between the arrival of The West and radicalism in the Middle East?"

That gentleman, Imam Shahid Hasan Al-Banna, is the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, somewhere around the year 1928, I believe.  He was assassinated.  Imagine that, an Imam assassinated.  The year was 1949.

I believe the first oil well was drilled by a US company in Saudi Arabia about 1933.

My dates are a little off.  He was a teacher, as was his father.  He knew little of nothing about Europe and the USA even a the time of his death from assassination at the age of 42-43 years old.  Imagine an Imam being assassinated.  Wow.

They were scholars of 'hadith.'  I doubt anyone reading this knows what 'hadith' is or could state what the 'context' of it might be.  As IGNORANT as these scholars were of The West, could not even conceptualize it; "The West" was never a good landlord and was as IGNORANT about 'hadith' in the land where they found vast profits.  Instead, 'The West' was all about itself and making money.  Shouldn't eveyrone else be?

"A Mosque?  What are you talking about, that thing you wear on your face on Halloween?  Five times a day?  These guys pray in a Mosque five times a day.  No, thanks, once on Saturday or Sunday is all the holiness I need.  They ought to give it a shot, you know?"

S.M. Hasan Al-Banna (click here)

Imam Shahid Hasan Al-Banna born in Egypt (1906- 1949), The founder of Al Ikwan Al Muslimin (The Muslim Brotherhood) the largest Islamic Movement of our time.

He studied Hadith and Shafi' fiqh under his Father Shaykh Abdur Rahaman Al-Banna, which he was considered one of the top Hadith scholar of his time, Shaykh Abdurhaman Al-Banna re-arranged the Musnad of Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal thus made it much easier for the students of knowledge to search for hadith.
Imam Al Banna is considered by many Muslim scholars worldwide as the Mujaddid of his time (A revival of Islam in the 20th century). He was assassinated in 1949.

This is where it really gets interesting.  The Yom Kipper War.  It was the first time Arab nations encountered the militarization of Israel.

Remember the 1973 oil embargo?  A cartel thing for money, right?  "W"rong.  The embargo was initiated to make an impression on 'The West' regarding the militarization of Israel.  The Arab nations decided their sovereignty was at risk in a way they grossly underestimated.

Oh, yeah.

What occurred 'to save face' was the first "Middle East Peace Engagement."  There were successful negotiations with Israel to pull back from the Sinai and Golan Heights once the fighting stopped.  The West would do anything for oil and Israel was, after all, dependent (OPPOSITE OF INDEPENDENT / INDEPENDENCE).  The Nixon Administration (George H. W. Bush was ambassador to China at the time.  I think.  Well, he was ambassador to China, I am just wondering the 'timing.') negotiated both with the Arab oil exporting countries end to the embargo in tandem with Egypt, Syria and Israel 'peace settlement.'

It was then the nations of the Middle East found 'the weapons trade' with The West.  They called it "Weapons Trade with Under-developed Countries."  DC still calls it that today.  It is an oxymoron.  Why would any country trade weapons with 'undeveloped' countries?   Any guess?  I can't come up with any.  In this case, it is because The West didn't want economic collapse when the oil spigot was turned off.  Then later there was the Iran Contra Affair and that whole mess.
Interesting, huh?

So, now that "Twitter" and social media has opened up the world to Arabia and the people finally 'get it' about democracy and a responsive government, The West is suppose to believe the worst about The Muslim Brotherhood.

Why?

It is probably the first time Arabs 'on the street'' actually know what WESTERNS look like!

So, before the 'morons' on the Right Political Spectrum of the USA start being paranoid about The Muslim Brotherhood, they need to 'bone up' on 'hadith.'  Should be interesting for them.  To actually thinik after all these years of 'fiscal exploitation' of the Middle East, they might actually come to understand 'the natives.'

After 'really, really' getting ones mind entrenched in 'faux fear' of Middle East Democracy, it sincerely makes one come to appreciate 'The Peace Movement' and opposition to weapons sales.

Get over it.  The Middle East is 'coming into its own,' finally!

Oppression breeds poverty.  Poverty breeds ignorance and extremism.

The USA needs to MODIFY its policies in The Middle East to include 'prudent' weapons sales AND quality of life of civilians.

Bill O'Reilly conducted one of the poorest interviews I have ever witnessed.

I learned NOTHING, except, what O'Reilly wanted the President to say and how insecure the Murdoch anchor was to maintain control of the final product.

What there something 'exclusive' in that interview?

NOPE!  Just incredible disrespect for the President and the audience.

While Egyptians are tenacious for freedom, the removal of the 'Preamble' of the USA Constitution si being trampled for political and financial fodder.

"insure domestic tranquility"...means to maintain law and order (tranquility) within the country (domestic). This is in direct contrast with the next reason listed: "provide for the common defence." ...  the focus is aimed outwards -- toward possible hosility from other countries. You can think of the Preamble in terms of the duties and purpose of an ideal government for a new country:...
There is no way domestic tranquility can be provided with the 'weapon load' on the USA streets that exists today.  Conveniently, the 'Second Amendmenters' like to ABANDON and IGNORE the Preamble of the USA Constitution which CLEARLY delineates THE DIFFERENCE between carrying weapons THAT DO NOT OUTGUN police and military and how a National Defense is CENTRALLY located among the USA military and NOT the citizens of the country.

How convenient everyone sets this topic aside.

...Note that the CDC child gun death figures are typically half of the figures that the gun control lobby publishes. The difference is in the definition of a child. The gun control lobby counts young adults that are 18 or 19 years old as children, but they do not count 20 year olds as children. You can choose from one of two possible reasons, depending on your level of cynicism: 1. The standard CDC age groups used to go from 0-19, 20-39, etc and the gun control lobby couldn't figure out how to select a custom age group. 2. Counting 18 and 19 year olds as children doubles the number of so-called child gun deaths, and more child gun deaths means more support for gun control.

In 1999 there were 1776 gun deaths in the 0 through 17 age group and 3385 gun deaths in the 0 through 19 age group. By subtraction we find that there were a whopping 1609 gun deaths in just the 18 through 19 age group. Historically the 18 through 24 age group is the highest crime-committing group. At age 18 part-time drug dealers leave school and become full-time drug dealers. Despite the propaganda from the gun control lobby, criminals in general and drug dealers in particular are the group of so-called children most likely to be shot by their fellow criminals. You can verify this by reading the local gun death news stories in any city newspaper. School shootings are so rare that every one gets national television coverage, but drug dealers are shot so often that they are barely mentioned in their local newspaper....

There needs to be a STANDARD federalized law in regard to issuing gun permits, otherwise, young Americans can simply go to any other state to obtrain their weapons.

Right-to-carry laws permit individuals (click title to entry - thank you) who meet certain "minimally restrictive" criteria (such as completion of a background check and gun safety course) to carry concealed firearms in most public places.
Concealed carry holders must also meet the minimum federal requirements for gun ownership.
* Each state has its own laws regarding right-to-carry and falls into one of three main categories:

1) "shall-issue" states, where concealed carry permits are issued to all qualified applicants

2) "may-issue" states, where applicants must often present a reason for carrying a firearm to an issuing authority, who then decides based on his or her discretion whether the applicant will receive a permit

3) "no-issue" states, where concealed carry is generally forbidden

* As of August 2010:

• 38 states are shall-issue and do those thirty-eight; Vermont, Alaska, and Arizona allow lawful firearm owners to carry guns without a permit. All other shall-issue states require firearm owners to obtain a permit to carry concealed guns.

• 10 states are may-issue:  Alabama, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.

• 2 states are no-issue:  Illinois and Wisconsin.

Mayor Continues to Hear Positive News on Officer's Recovery  (click here)

Paramus Patrol Officer Rachel Morgan, alleged gunman both wounded. Morgan still critical after surgery.

...A troubled 23-year-old Westwood man, Michael Sean "Mickey" Carmody, was identified Monday morning as the shooter. Carmody was shot several times by at least one other Paramus officer who arrived at the scene, Molinelli said.
Morgan, who was wearing her bullet-proof vest, was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she is surrounded by family and fellow officers, Molinelli said.
The officer, who had previously been a cop at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, pulled over Carmody on Route 17 just after 11 p.m., Molinelli said. He fled the stop and Morgan gave chase, the prosecutor said.
Carmody lost control of his silver car on the ramp to the Garden State Parkway, and opened fire on Morgan, Molinelli said....

...The City Council of Los Angeles is in the process of enacting an ordinance which would make it a crime to openly carry a handgun within the city limits of Los Angeles.
On Friday January 28th the L.A. City Council unanimously passed a motion "...requesting the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA) and City Attorney to report to Council to share their legal understandings concerning current federal, state and local parameters concerning gun issues. Recommendations for Council action..."
In the same motion, the city council unashamedly asked "...the local community organizations aimed at stemming gun violence, including Women Against Gun Violence and Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, be invited to attend any such presentation and discussion, and to share their information, insight, advice and ideas."
In short, if you are an opponent of the ban on Open Carry you are not invited....

THAT'S RIGHT.  Why invite people to talk that have nothing to say?  It only wastes taxpayers dollars.

None of what is occurring in Egypt is sabotage. Infrastructure deteriorates when people are occupied with achieving human rights.

Still yet another uncontrolled methane leak regardless the cause.

Egypt crisis: Sinai explosion blamed on gas leak (click title to entry - thank you)

An explosion at a gas terminal in the north of Egypt's Sinai peninsula has been blamed on a gas leak and not a terror attack.

The two hour broadcast of "Democracy Now" removed 'the veil' hiding 'the truth' surrounding the current demonstrations for rights in Egypt.

The broadcast PROVED conclusively thr hippocracy of the "Political Right Wing" in the USA and their fear mongering about the causes for the Egyptian peoples' demands of its government.  Sincere chaos simply scares the cronies to the Plutocracy to the bones as they promote propaganda of fear in the USA.

There are no terrorists at the heart of "The Every Man Protests" in Egypt,  Bigots all.  They hold on so dearly to their "Islamo-faschism" to promote war it even betrays their own "Democracy Rhetoric."

Four Egyptian patriots set on fire had their message carried by a single, brave female voice to the masses of oppressed.

That is inspration to freedom.

Get used to it.

President Mubarak needs to hear the cry of his daughter as every other man did and be the leader he was born to be and institute the democracy his people long for.

Could President Mubarak be the answer to establishing democracr?

And is this what he means when he states 'chaos' would follow?

...Paradoxically, (click title to entry - thank you) it requires that Mr. Mubarak stay on, but only for a short time, to initiate the election of an entirely new Parliament that could then amend all the power out of the presidency or even abolish it...

Mr. El Baradei needs to ask the USA for impetus to this change.

President Mubarak is 'the father' to Egypt's democracy.

"methodology to make millions"

If I was a radio and/or TV sensationalist, how would I get the attention of people to sell products to a capitalistic base?

I guess I would be sensational and lie and attract crowds and make sales and continue in that manner until I didn't have to do it anymore.

I suppose if I got really good at lying and people even incorporated those lies into their 'belief systems' then I would be the only one my capitalistic base would tune into for 10 minutes of advertising and 15 minutes of program.

And then if my base began to 'know me' as 'the person' that viewed life as they do regardless of its validity (after all it is just a belief system) then I will have managed to achieve star quality and ultimately superstar quality and could sell anything, even political parties that never existed before, especially if I invoke the name of God.

What the Right Wing Media does from morning until night is lie, espouse belief systems requiring hate and claim the moral high ground.

Why would anyone, serious about their own life listen or watch that?

If people want to be mislead because it feels good, in the name of God or otherwise; OR 'it seems right' (like making UFOS out of jet contrails) then what is left is a grossly dysfunctional society that does not understand their own problems willing to destroy ANY entity that doesn't PRAY 'the right way' and Hence causes the dysfunctuion.

Example: Easter Island

Why would I listen to or watch those programs?

BECAUSE I WOULD BE SCARED OF NOT WATCHING THOSE PROGRAMS.  The 'regular'media that views 'that mess' as legitimate news is guilty of being scared, joining in on the sensationalism and promoting fear to their viewership, rather than, covering the anti-government extremism that now sits in the US House of Representatives promoting their removal next election cycle.

That is a hell of a way to sell anything and the FCC is completely wrong in not banning programming dangerous to the political stability of the country.

Caliphate Gate - The Right Wing Extremists are the best comedy show out there.

When considering Murdoch one never, ever considers the source, one considers the audience.  The Tea Baggers want to remove 'the republican Mind Trust' from the party, of course they are going to exploit ANY contact with the Bushes.  After all, Fomer First Lady Barbara Bush exiled Palin to Alaska.

The only place I am hearing about this bizarre 'ratings war' is the news.  I don't watch those idiots, But, I am beginning to believe 'the left' are like deer in the headlights and a real boost to their ratings.

The Murdoch Media Circus IS about extremism, not political reality.  Their political strenght is taking the MOST extremist view that any Macho Man would take and destroy the very core of the Republican Party.  I am waiting for "the Caliph" to show up in an embrace with Bush, aren't you?

"The Caliphate" is ancient.  It dates back to Mohammad. It doesn't exist and hasn't existed since March 3, 1924, the first President of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as part of his reforms, constitutionally abolished the institution of the Caliphate. Its powers within Turkey were transferred to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the parliament of the newly formed Turkish Republic.

What were Beck's first words?

"Admitted idiocy."  It laid the ground work for his rhetoric.  I am going to stop tuning in to the evening news if this mess continues,  I don't watch the news to watch The Right Wage The Political Wars.

After hearing about this mess I turned to Murdoch and steaming across the bottom of the screen on the ticker were nothing but news containing names of Muslims.  It is a media propaganda campaign that exploits the wounds of the Egyptian protesters.  The Murdoch Right Wing will have the rhetoric so intensified, that ANY 'incumbant's name' with few exception will be like nails across a chalkboard.  Let them do it, 2012 awaits and Bachmann needs an uptick.

It is interesting they have little to no concern about collegues.  But then, they aren't really collegues, now are they?

Sorry for the typos, I had hand surgery.  Now, I am going to take my pain medicine and go to bed.

Have a better day.

Egypt has been at the forefront of peace in the Middle East for decades. One of the reasons has been President Mubarak.

A demonstrator (click title to entry - thank you) protects his head during clashes with Mubarak supporters. (Mohammed Abed, AFP/Getty Images / February 3, 2011)

The problem is as I have stated before, Egyptians believe in peace and abhor violence, except, their sacrifices have been disproportionate 'for' the outcome.  Their sacrifice has become to great and oppressuve 'at the will' of The West.

This is an awakening to all the global community and is contrary to our beliefs as to what should be occurring with people of peace.  The demonstrators in Tahrir Square have no grand Islamic plans for global domination.  They want better lives and the citizens of The West have always believed they were receiving that and hence desired 'the peace' with us.  We have been diluted of our understandings as well and won't tolerate their treatment.

The aid to Egypt is distributed wrongly to the peace effort and if the demonstrators didn't provide an understanding of that we would never know.  The people of the USA cannot condone any violence toward unarmed people reaching out for an understanding.  Their wishes for thir own lives has to be honored and their esteem uplifted.  We never intended for the oppression, but, the evidence weighs heavily in that reality.  The monies to Egypt were to control unknown enemies among the populous and instead of stability The West has created hardship.

The 'fear' is the enemy, not the people and certainly not President Mubarak.

The military did the best thing they could do in standing with the people to complete the picture of the disproportionate power that exists in achieving stability in Egypt.  Oddly, The West would never deny Egypt any aspect of internal control they requested because the nation has been a full partner with us.  And Egypt has a very confused picture to the world.

Everyone knows poverty breeds anger and hatred and in a world where 'a call to arms' is moments away from reality the 'opportunity' for escalation is all to real.  Yet, in the very country we hold dearly in our hearts as an ally, the people suffer rather than enjoy life.  There is something very, very wrong and it needs to end.  People that have died without weapons, without evil intention in order to be heard are the noblest of any.  I never wanted it for them.

The incredible strenght of the 'anti-governmnent' demonstrators was the sheer randomness of their experiences.  They were not organized, but, yet the assault against them definately was.  The way 'the press' was targeted, I can only be grateful for their tenacity, for, what might occur afterward would have been far more terrible than did occur.  Frustration with the demonstrators became 'a rason' for violence.  That should not have occurred, while some would say 'the press' caused 'the tensions,' that was not their goal.  The Press should be their to inform and it the information about the cause for the demonstrations that was important and they were correct to pursue it,

Inherent to 'the information' is 'the truth' oh which lies very real consequences.  The 'idea' that oppression was 'the answer' was very flawed.  The 'answer' exists in a new understanding of the people of Egypt and why policies with "The West" have failed them.

I looked for pertinent scholars to find an understanding of the Egyptian people and were dearly few.  There was this interview.

Hijacking the agenda
Haass: There will always be people with agendas. If the Florida pastor had gone ahead with his terrible threat to burn the Koran, there would have been people who exploited that. Where are the voices pushing back? What can be done to strengthen the voices who say, “What has been said or done is awful, but it is not a license for committing acts of violence against innocent people”?
Rauf: We have to be proactive and strategic instead of reactive. In order to win the game, you just can’t have players on the field, but strategies formulated together, and deploy them. What is absent right now is strategic planning about how to push back.
Look, the threat of radical extremists throughout the Muslim world is not only a threat to Western governments. It is as much a threat to Muslim governments and societies. The people of Pakistan are sick and tired of suicide bombers. The same in Iraq.
I remember going to Egypt after a terrorist attack against some tourists. People were mad and angry because tourism dried up and the economy turned down.
Muslims are miserable over terrorism, not happy. They want something better, but we don’t know how to give it to them.
Radical extremists have hijacked our discourse. What might happen if, whenever there was a suicide bombing, there was a news blackout. They love the fact that the media gives them this coverage.
I don’t know the solution. But what I do know is that we have a status quo in which the extremists can hijack the agenda. For all of our intelligence, we haven’t figured out how to tie them down.

A Report on the Size and Distribution of the World’s Muslim Population
October 2009
Egypt is among the most densely populated of all Muslim countries, yet, the policies of The West have failed them.  The policies have caused the very poverty we know is a vital link to extremism and oppression is 'the tool' of choice to enforce that poverty.  The demonstrations were going to happen in some form sooner or later, we should all be grateful to the people of Egypt 'for finding a way.'

Things have to change and soon.  Demonizing a known 'partner' in peace is NOT the method that will bring further peace, but only greater oppression.
The next elections in Egypt should be expedited IF they can be, but, have to be open and transparent.

Snow over North America helps recharge reservoirs. Storm increased intensity while moving northeast.

Horses at Valley Mount Ranch in Fenton, Mo., nuzzle each other as the icy rain turns to snow. A monster storm bore down on the middle of the country, threatening to leave up to a third of the nation covered in brutal winter weather.

How much can Australia be expected to endure?

...At 1:00 a.m. Queensland (click title to entry - thank you ) time on February 2, the U.S. Navy’s Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) reported that Yasi was roughly 450 nautical miles (835 kilometers) east-northeast of Cairns, Australia. Sporting a well-defined eye, Yasi had maximum sustained winds of 120 knots (220 kilometers per hour) and gusts up to 145 knots (270 kilometers per hour). True to earlier forecasts, favorable conditions led the storm to intensify rapidly over the Pacific Ocean....

Since 1899, (click here) there have been seven severe storms of this magnitude in Australia; five of which were from 1975.  This will make three since 2005, the year of Katrina in the northern hemisphere.

...The storm (click here) will compound misery in Queensland, which has already been hit by months of flooding that killed 35 people and inundated hundreds of communities. Cyclone Yasi is due to hit north of the main waterlogged area, but emergency services are already stretched and the whole state is flood-weary.

"This is a cyclone of savagery and intensity," Prime Minister Julia Gillard said in a nationally televised news conference as the storm moved toward the coast. "People are facing some really dreadful hours in front of them."

The first winds began howling throughout Cairns as night fell Wednesday, with the storm expected to make landfall sometime around midnight....

Camels & horses storm into Tahrir Square as protesters clash in Cairo

Evidently being on horseback or on camels won't get anyone to the other side of Liberation Square in Cairo. The protestors achieved a great deal in having President Mobarak's resign from elections. It becomes a political issue now that there are obvious differences between the demonstrators. It has to be settled with an election or the resignation of the President. No authority is simply going to commit the nation to anarchy.

The trouble really started in 2006 out of Western fears of extremists.

...It also was seen (click title to entry - than you) as an effort to block the banned Muslim Brotherhood, which made unprecedented gains in recent parliamentary elections, from promoting an independent candidate for president in 2011.
Mubarak's allies in the upper house of parliament and in his party said the planned delay was, in fact, a step toward greater democracy because it would allow time to put in place a new law for greater decentralization....

The citizens of any country cannot be oppressed forever, when 'the flag' of free elections are promised as a solution to problems.  In Lebabon, we are seeing the same paradigm.

Speculation as to weyher 'The West' should even be involved with these countries is a very goog question.  The West always has designs on their assets when in fact, that is what oppresses them in the first place.  We have been here before, in that, the needs of the First World requires the oppression of others to insure trade, stc.

"W" was correct, in that, invasion and occupation is necessary to secure American's standard of living under the old paradigm,

So.

Now, that there is peace and transition, what are the Plutocrats to do?
