Sorry to hear Jeff Sessions has resigned. I am no fan of Jeff Sessions, but, he is probably better than his interim replacement.

Jess Sessions was highly controversial. He removed requirements that gave equality to transgender children in their schools. He removed the US Justice Department from monitoring or policing the police and the use of excessive force and racial profiling.

Jeff Sessions has issued directives to Immigration Judges that prohibited many aspects of requests for asylum. People now citizens in the USA were investigated for fraud in their applications. He was seeking to strip citizenships from people in the USA that were already found worthy. I find that a dangerous precedent. What exactly is fraud?

Jeff Sessions decided on his own, DACA was unconstitutional, which was recently rejected by a judge.

He was ridiculously pursuing the idea that marijuana was a classified drug requiring prosecution for growing or possessing. Michigan passed a referendum legalizing marijuana. So, all these movements into making marijuana legal were receiving strong ridicule from US Justice under Sessions. One might recall President Obama asked US Justice to be prudent in exercising those laws.

For all the bigotry and sad exercise of the law as if nothing had changed (It might not have changed in Alabama, though.) for decades his current successor is actually worse.

There is no good answer for a decent and prudent US Justice Department under this administration and legal practice of government has dropped to the state level. That is a very poorly run administration, but, at least the states are willing to protect citizens from lethal force and opportunistic million/billionaires.

There is much to do in the US House.

How is Whitaker worse? He completely aligns with Kavanaugh in exempting the Trump Company and the Trump family from the Russian investigation. The forcing Jeff Sessions to resign is about recusing himself from the investigation. This is Trump getting ready for a legal fight.

For all the country knows Jeff Sessions might be heading for an interview himself, especially now.

Congratulations to Tom Perez. He ran a fifty state race!

As former Labor Secretary, he brought a lot of talent to his first election as Chairman of the DNC.

Thank you to the former Presidents Obama and Carter as well as former First Lady Michelle Obama. They campaigned and made a difference. They energized voters and the US House is secure.

Once the Chairman has had a chance to assess and evaluate this race, he will have his sites on the elections of 2020. The states below are still influenced by the Republican Party and if one scans the Senate and Governor wins these states hold power over the outcomes of 2020. We must begin to address the issue of the Electorate College which was established to satisfy the slave states of the first 13 colonies.

Alaska - 3

Florida - 29

Georgia - 16

Iowa - 6

Ohio - 18

South Dakota - 3

Beto O'Rourke has influenced the electorate in Texas, we need to build on it. How long have the Republicans been planning for 2020?

Look.

...President Donald Trump (click here) filed for re-election the day he was inaugurated, and his campaign already has raised $100 million and begun airing TV and digital ads. So it should be no surprise that Trump campaigned more aggressively than any other modern president during the election midway through his term. He drew thousands of supporters to huge rallies, where he talked more about himself than the candidates he was there to boost. Some were in states crucial for his re-election prospects. On Monday, he closed the campaign with events in Ohio, Indiana and Missouri, and he officially announced his 2020 slogan: "Keep America Great."...

The US House has a lot of work ahead.

The Wall - Donald Trump has failed in building his beautiful wall. Mexico is not paying for The Wall, the American taxpayers are paying for it. When the US House convenes there will be far more pressing issues such as prescription drug costs, ensuing pre-existing conditions are maintained as a health care priority, clean water and air, being sure our Dreamers are secure, most importantly environmental pollution of all kind has to stop and Democrats MUST recognize the Middle Class with a tax cut and the unions that provide for a strong Middle Class. So, considering the many issues not even mentioned here, there is little room for wall funding. The USA House controls the budget.

I must point out there are thousands of children in detention facilities. That requires legislation which also addresses immigtion reform. There is every indication there are hundreds more children on their way that if they arrive at our southern border needs protection to maintain their status when accompanied by parents. The USA cannot be dividing families ever again. The young men that will be arriving may want to join the military with appropriate background checks.

Foreign policy must take a focus as well. The Iran Deal needs focus and delegations need to meet with our allies which are experiencing a growing threat from Russia. The Congress has little to do with the Mueller investigation, but, whatever measures must be taken to maintain the investigation has to go forward. The USA has seen an assault upon allies while Russia is holding secret talks with Trump. That is a direct threat to the USA’s sovereignty in national security issues.

The lists are long and the committees will have a lot of work to do. The Democrats have seen the election of very talented people that are up to the challenge. Congratulations to all, but, hit the ground in DC running; there is no time to lose.

Barbed wire is not a wall and approaching immigrants are not an invasion.

Michael Moore look at Michigan! It was a complete rejection of Snyder's administration. Congratulations.

Michael Moore predicted Trump's victory and it was somewhat due to the Democrats ignoring Michigan voters. Michigan will never be taken for granted again.

The young voters are coming home, Michael. This election, a midterm election, has seen the involvement of young voters that set records. How long has Michael Moore emphasized the young voters? Decades. They love their country and reject the hate of the White House.

Thank you for loving the USA. It matters.

The wins in the Governor races cannot be understated.

Wisconsin, Kansas and Nevada are among the 7 governorships now home again. Those are important wins. Wisconsin is among the states with the hardest work to do to ensure it's future of clean air and water. The unions are safe again. It is time to build on that reality.

Don't forget those Republican voters that made a difference in elections where they crossed party lines to vote with the Democrats for the worry about their country. They are important.

Pritzker, who bested Republican Bruce Rauner; and Nevada Democrat Steve Sisolak, who roundly defeated Republican Adam Laxalt, whose family members even campaigned against him.

In New Mexico, Democrats picked up a win with Michelle Lujan Grisham defeating Republican Steve Pearce; in Michigan, Democrat Gretchen Whitmer defeated Republican Attorney General Bill Schuette; and in Maine, Janet Mills defeated Republican Shawn Moody.

In one of the day's tightest races for governor, Wisconsin Democrat Tony Evers narrowly avoided a recount and edged out Republican incumbent Scott Walker....

This is one of the headlines in "Haaretz," a news media organization in Israel. That is a statement that cannot be ignored.

Thank you, (click here) America's women, for choosing history over pre-history. You made the difference in this election. You saved us.

The US foreign policy isn't what it should be.

There is also the issue of a USA journalist that cannot be ignored regardless of the passive attitude of the Israeli Prime Minister. Turkey is engaged in that justice and as a NATO member, it is important the issue receives proper attention.

The elders of the Saudi royal family know the importance of their country in relation to the Muslim faith. That matters. They should receive support in recognizing the truth in this death.

A huge thank you to all those fabulously famous people that came out to focus attention on voting. It is important. Stay in the fight.

They are great and talented people that love their country. I haven't shopped at "Spotify," (click here) but, that will change to find the people that cared the most.

Thank you to every one of those that stood up to shift the balance of the government in favor of the US Constitution. Elections are important and the very people that needed to come home to their responsibility did so with the help of the most talented Americans.

Taylor Swift strongly believes in diversity in the USA. She has recordings with a diverse group of artists. She means it. The Democrats need to pay attention to her success and the strong values she holds for them. She is powerful, the voter registrations spiked after her endorsements. There are many reasons a candidate wins an election, but, she did her part is a remarkable statement for equity. She is noteable.

...Swift said (click here) that the Republican's voting record on issues such as LGBT+ rights "appals and terrifies me", adding she would like to support women in office but "I cannot support" Ms Blackburn....

Amy Schumer (click here) knows you’re interested in her pregnancy, so she’s using that attention to urge followers to vote in Tuesday’s midterm elections.

The “I Feel Pretty” star, who announced in October she’s expecting her first child with husband Chris Fischer ― along with a list of her recommended House candidates ― shared a sweet video of herself on Monday watching an ultrasound video.

“It’s moving all around! Oh my God, oh my God, see it has so much energy — that’s why I’m puking every day,” Schumer says in the clip, as she watches her unborn baby move on the screen.

The comedian and Fischer tied the knot in a surprise ceremony in February after only a few months of dating.....

The victories are sweet, but, the hard work has to begin. Senator Schumer has important work to do to deliver on important issues such as health care.

Americans love their country. Congratulations to Democrats who worked hard to bring the country home. The victory is amazing. The odds of them taking the house was nearly impossible.

The top priority for the new House majority is to fight corruption, but, also to push back against wayward foreign policy and secure the country. This new US House victory came just in time. But, national security has to be the first item on the agenda and that has nothing to do with impoverished people from the Northern Triad. The countries need to be secured from poverty and violence. A strong western hemisphere means a secure and peaceful hemisphere.

Women have taken the country. There needs to be a concerted effort to bring safety to women in the workplace. The country has an infrastructure that victimizes women. It is not enough to have the opportunity to education and work, it is those very venues of opportunity that has traumatized women with scars that last a lifetime. We have much work to do. The most troubling aspect of this strange entitlement was it's thriving invisibility. No more.

Children and their security have to be a part of the focus of the new US House. The country is listening. The people were listening to return a Democratic majority to the US House. Children are our future and their safety and well being are paramount to the security of this country. It is outrageous violence occurs in their lives on a regular basis.

I congratulate the Democrats for taking so many Governor victories. That is important beyond just a victory, there needs to be an examination of election maps and an end to the Republican power dynamics impose on the people of those states. Exposing the manipulative Republican priorities and the removal of "equality and fairness" is important to bring an understanding to the people. It will empower their future voting.

States need to return priority to clean air and water at the very time when deregulation in Washington, DC places the health of their citizens in danger.

Unfortunately, there are issues with corruption that showed up in the Senate races. The idea a Secretary of State can control the election where he was running for Governor is astounding. It only goes to prove the degree of immorality and corruption that exists within that party. The Republicans don't only allow corruption, they encourage it. The fact that minority candidates were exclusively limited to the Democratic Party is a stunning reality. It is important these victors are held in esteem and encourage more minority victories in the USA.

The new Democratic majority of the US House know their constituents and their constituents priorities in their victories, the Democratic leadership must listen to these priorities and work toward fulfilling their promises. The victories in 2020 are important and should be built on the victories of 2018.

San Francisco – Acting on a tip from law enforcement, (click here) Facebook has removed more than 100 accounts – 30 on Facebook, 85 on Instagram – engaging in coordinated activity in French, English and Russian, raising the possibility that foreign actors are attempting to meddle on the eve of the U.S. midterm elections.

Facebook said it was alerted Sunday night to the suspicious activity that law enforcement believe may be linked to foreign entities and blocked the accounts in question. Almost all the Facebook pages appear to be in French or Russian while the Instagram accounts were mostly in English. Some were focused on celebrities, others on political debate, Facebook said.

"Typically, we would be further along with our analysis before announcing anything publicly. But given that we are only one day away from important elections in the U.S., we wanted to let people know about the action we've taken and the facts as we know them today," Nathaniel Gleicher, Facebook's head of cybersecurity policy, said in a blog post. "Once we know more – including whether these accounts are linked to the Russia-based Internet Research Agency or other foreign entities – we will update this post."

The investigation into the activity was announced late Monday. The company said it was too early in its investigation to determine who was behind the effort or how long the accounts had been operating. Facebook said it does not know how many people may have interacted with the Facebook and Instagram accounts....

Russia said it deployed its new frigate with long-range Kalibr cruise missiles (click here) to the Mediterranean Sea on Monday, a few months after Moscow had reinforced its naval forces off Syrian cost.

"The Black Sea Navy Fleet's frigate Admiral Makarov left [Navy base] Sevastopol and laid a course for the Black Sea straits. The vessel will be acting in the standing naval force of the Russian fleet in the Mediterranean," the Russian Defense Ministry said in statement

Russia has in the past fired Kalibr cruise missiles from frigates and submarines stationed in the Mediterranean Sea at militant targets to support Syrian army offensives.

The ministry did not say whether the frigate was supposed to take part in the military operation in Syria where Moscow has backed President Bashar Assad since entering the war in 2015....

Washington – New York activist (click here) and Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez cruised to victory Tuesday – and made history, becoming the youngest woman elected to Congress.

Ocasio-Cortez, who turned 29 in October, will represent a heavily Democratic district that includes Queens. She knocked out her general election opponents and scored the primary season’s biggest upset with the defeat of Rep. Joe Crowley, the fourth-ranking House Democrat.

And she isn't the only woman making her mark in early election returns....

This election has witnessed blatant voter suppression in two major elections.

Stacy Abrams was denied votes by voter suppression laws by Brian Kemp who will most probably win the election.

Heidi Heitkamp running for the US Senate was denied her voter base by voter laws imposed on Native Americans in the state of North Dakota.

Those are so very blatant it is should be criminal.

We are still fighting slavery that serves the Republicans vote suppression agenda.

Voters in Florida (click here) have passed Amendment Four, automatically restoring voting rights to convicted felons who have served out their prison term.

At least 60 percent of voters must approve an amendment to the state’s constitution for it to become law, and the Associated Press projected Amendment Four had cleared that threshold.

The passage of the amendment could have a profound impact on Florida’s political landscape, as felons make up nearly 10 percent of the adult population in the state. An estimated 1.5 million disenfranchised Floridians will now be eligible to vote in the next election.

The restriction that denied felons the right to vote originated in the state’s post-Civil War constitution as a way to prevent freed slaves from voting....

Washington – Kim Davis, (click here) the Kentucky county clerk who went to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, has lost her bid for re-election.

Davis, a Republican, was defeated by Democrat Elwood Caudill Jr., in the race for Rowan County Clerk. Davis called Caudill to concede, according to news reports....

Brett Kavanagh lied to the Senate committee.

The report of the Senate Judiciary Committee is out. Read the Exhibit 20 (page 98 of 144) which was a written testimony by Paul Redon of his experience with Britt Kavanaugh. It is stunning. It completely matches the character issues presented by Dr. Ford, including bragging about women or better said, girls.

Paul Rendon listed 79 memories of his experience with Kavanaugh and his team affiliates.

Kavanaugh lied about everything. His friends never denied any of the statements by Dr. Ford; they simply say they have no memories of that time.

US Senate Judiciary Committee Report (click here)

If sincerely interested in this judge's rise to power, read the report, the 144 pages are primarily exhibits. This is a legal document and the testimony by Paul Redon completely surprised me considering the tone of so many others distancing from Kavanaugh through poor memories.

7. I was unaware of any other student there that was of humble means.
8. All of my friends and all the other students at the school, as far as I knew, were from much wealthier families.
9. The students were divided into different social groups.
10. Brett Kavanaugh hung out with the jocks in the school, who were on the football team.
11. There was a group of students that were routinely picked on by Brett Kavanaugh’s group of friends, and were tormented, teased and ridiculed, and pushed and shoved into lockers or into closets.
12. I never witnessed Brett Kavanaugh physically attack a student, but there were many times I witnessed one of Brett Kavanaugh’s larger friends physically attack a student, and saw Brett Kavanaugh witness the attack and laugh about it.

Kavanaugh loves to laugh at everyone's expense.

13. Brett Kavanaugh would also laugh when his friends teased and ridiculed other students.
14. To my knowledge, the kids that were picked on never reported it, presumably out of fear of retaliation.
15. Brett Kavanaugh never did anything to stop this physical and verbal abuse, but stood by and laughed at the victims.
16. My group of friends were in between the students that got picked on and the football players that picked on the students.
17. Brett Kavanaugh was close friends with Mark Judge.
18. I can recall the names of the other people in his group of friends and can provide those to the Senators if they want them.
19. Mark Judge was the class clown.
20. Brett Kavanaugh would always laugh the loudest when it was in response to Mark Judge’s jokes and antics.

He loved his beer as well and measured the weekend consumption by the keg.

21. Underage drinking was part of the subculture of the football team group and not the culture of the whole school.
22. The football team players, including Brett Kavanaugh, during their junior and senior years would routinely brag about how many kegs that they drank over the weekend.
23. I would witness them bragging on Mondays about how many kegs they consumed over the weekend.

The words spoken by Kavanaugh about Renate was not in friendship or admiration, it defamed her as a sex object.

31. Aside from bragging about how much they drank over the weekend, they would also brag about how much sex they had over the weekend.
32. I do not recall Brett Kavanaugh specifically say he had sex with any particular person.
33. However, I do recall Brett Kavanaugh generally participate in these conversations where the football players were bragging about sexual conquests over the prior weekend.
34. One name that routinely was a subject of conversation when the football players were bragging about sexual conquests was a person named Renate, pronounced, REE NATE.
35. I heard Brett Kavanaugh talk about Renate many times.
36. The impression I formed at the time from listening to these conversations where Brett Kavanaugh was present was that Renate was the girl that everyone passed around for sex, and that if one of the boys was unable to find sex with a girl, that Renate was the option for sex as a last resort.
37. In particular, I recall that Brett Kavanaugh had made up a rhyme using the REE NATE pronunciation of Renate’s name.

These behaviors recalled by a person, Paul Redon, who was neither a friend or enemy of Kavanaugh is very telling. He made observations and not opinion. His observations are spot on in reflections of Dr. Ford.

Dr. Ford was treated EXACTLY as she described of Brett Kavanaugh and was lucky she was not raped. Paul Redon is a witness to the ill character of a young man that acted out of privilege and not decency.

I thank Paul Redon for coming forward and proving Dr. Ford was indeed a victim to a vicious young man interested in only his own creature comforts.

Brett Kavanaugh, then a judge in the DC Circuit, bald faced lied under oath to the US Senate Judiciary Panel. There is a reason Trump truncated the investigation by the FBI. He knew what was on the desk of the committee's leadership.

I will be calling my local Democratic Party to give anyone who calls them a ride to the polls.

And this is a magnificent bird film, just because it is fascinating to watch such a delicate and elegant animal enjoy their lives. Bird watching, rocks.

Wisconsin will produce so much pollution it will probably raise the ire of Canada.

NOX compounds produced by as air pollution is responsible for acid rain. VOC in outdoor air quality as emissions from smoke stacks. VOCs will impact the health of those within range of the emissions. Outdoor emissions does find it's way into indoor air quality. VOCs is also carbon pollution

Short-term:
Short-term exposure to various VOCs may cause:
  • Irritation of the eyes and respiratory tract
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Visual disorders
  • Memory problems
Long-term:
Long-term exposure to various VOCs may cause:
  • Irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of coordination
  • Dizziness
  • Damage to the liver, kidneys, and central nervous system
  • Cancer
This is the problem with Republican administrations and we are seeing the most extremist use of deregulation in the USA history with Trump. Republican administrations only want to promise jobs without any recognition to the insult of quality of life those jobs cause. This is the same insult from Walker. He doesn't care about the human condition, basically, "It is a life, get over yourself." That is a human rights violation and the impact on places outside of Wisconsin will tell the tale of whether or not Foxconn will value pollution control or not.

March 28, 2018

Plans by Foxconn Technology Group (click here) for a massive manufacturing complex in Racine County would represent a major new source of air pollution in an area already struggling with summer smog problems.

Emissions from the company’s operations in Mount Pleasant would rank among the highest in southeastern Wisconsin for pollutants that create smog, also known as ozone pollution, state documents show.

Smog poses a health threat, especially for the elderly, children and people who suffer from respiratory problems like asthma. But it can also lead to reduced lung function for people working and exercising outdoors, and environmental groups are concerned about Foxconn's impact on air quality.

Two of Foxconn's most significant air pollutants would be volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, and nitrogen oxides, or NOx, according to company documents filed with the state Department of Natural Resources.

The emissions are produced during the manufacturing of super-high-resolution panels for medical imaging, consumer electronics and other uses. The $10 billion plant — a project on no one’s radar here until a year ago — could employ up to 13,000 people and represents the most significant economic development in Wisconsin in decades....

Scott Walker has Wisconsin on the wrong path.

It seems to me the Democrats have a winning ticket in Wisconsin. Tammy Baldwin has a great voting record in the US Senate and she was bipartisan whenever she could agree with the other Republican Senators. There should be no question as to returning her to the US Senate.

It is unfortunate Tony Evers isn't expanding his lead against Scott Walker. Scott Walker clearly caters to cronies. He is owned by Koch industries and to that reality is the ugly campaign waged a few years ago whereby Koch was able to place their preferred candidates in a race in Iron County with the endorsement of Scott Walker.

March 21, 2014
By Steven Verburg

...Perhaps (click here) more surprised than anyone was one mine booster, labeled “radical,” who appeared aside Gov. Scott Walker at the state Capitol to tout the mine.

At stake is a 15-member County Board that could make monetary and other demands of Gogebic Taconite, which is already deep into a sometimes combative state permitting process over its proposal for a huge iron mine that promises jobs while inspiring worries about environmental degradation....

These people were not interested in the health of the community or the miners that would be hired to work in this enormous mine, so why was there an issue in the first place? Because Scott Walker didn't care either. They wanted the mine to be open and producing profits ASAP.

Do Wisconsin voters remember this level of corruption in their state? Just because it isn't in the backyard of their homes doesn't mean this can be swept under the carpet. There is no forgetting this intrusion into a town's governance. It was a take over by Koch Industries to begin their profiteering.

Wisconsin should have Tony Evers in the Governor's office to clean up whatever corruption accumulated under Scott Walker, who didn't care about BIDS for mines, but, simply assigned his cronies to their demands.

You'll excuse me but the people of Iron County never approached the topic of opening mines, never set standards for those that would operate the mines or were allowed BIDS to the extent of knowing the health and well being of workers, the amount of minerals extracted every year under A CONTRACT and to what percentage of the sales of the minerals would go to Iron County and the State. Walker never respected the citizens of Iron County to let them decide the future of their land nor did he complain when the Koch's brought dense corruption to their local election process.

This matters. Scot Walker forced the Koch's election blitz in 2014 down the throats of the Iron County voters. That is unheard of in most states in the country. That is corruption and about as nasty as it comes.

Tony Evers had increased the funding to education in Wisconsin. If Wisconsin liked him as their leader in state education they will like him better as a Governor. He understands budget and focuses on equality and equal rights.

In so many of his pictures he looks like a kid himself.

Madison — As required by state statute (click here) on or by Oct. 15 of each year, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has provided the certified amount each public school district will receive from the $4.656 billion appropriated for general state aid for the 2018-19 school year. This amounts to a $72.75 million (1.6 percent) increase in state general aids compared to last year.

General aid is made up of equalization aid also known as the school aid formula, integration aid also known as Chapter 220 aid, and special adjustment aid also known as hold harmless aid. Fifty-three districts met the aid formula’s hold harmless provision, meaning their aid reduction is generally limited to 15 percent of the prior year’s amount....

Equality for Tony Evers has no exceptions. He is a champion for all minorities in the State of Wisconsin.

...“HRC is proud to endorse Tony Evers for Governor of Wisconsin,” (click here) said HRC (Human Rights Campaign) Wisconsin State Director Wendy Strout. “After seven years of Scott Walker’s attacks on our community, it’s more important than ever we elect a pro-equality governor who will fight day in and day out to uphold the Wisconsin values of fairness, justice and equality. Superintendent Evers has been a tireless ally for LGBTQ Wisconsinites, and he will be a vital voice for the community and all Wisconsinites in the Governor’s mansion. We look forward to mobilizing Wisconsin’s 560,000 Equality Voters this November and working with him to move equality forward across the Badger State.”

“As a longtime champion of LGBTQ equality, I am proud to accept the endorsement of the Human Rights Campaign,” said Evers. “Here in Wisconsin, we've watched the LGBTQ community come under attack for the last seven years, and seen all the progress we've made toward equality threatened. I promise to continue to be a strong ally and advocate for LGBTQ rights as Governor, and will make sure that we protect the gains we've made for the LGBTQ community In Wisconsin and push to secure full equality for everyone in our state.”...

Hatred of "the other" is not allowed in Wisconsin anymore. Scott Walker sees no end to discrimination of any minority in the state. He is strongly anti-LGBTQ. Why? Hatred. Simply, pure hatred. It could be about imposing religious beliefs ahead of the USA Constitution, but, that is so inappropriate it has no place in conversation.

There are transgender children all across the USA that need the same education of those that don't face the challenges these children face. Tony Evers founded equality in education in Wisconsin and as a Governor he will be able to do so much more for any minority voter in the state.

Tony Evers is an accomplished administrator in one of the most demanding jobs in the country and that is education. Wisconsin needs him as Governor.

Last, but, not least Wisconsin voters know Scott Walker has been cheating on his budget. The job growth in Wisconsin since Walker took office is abysmal. I guess depriving job seekers a good paying job is one way to defeat unions.

Scott Walker owned this mess. It was only when legislators like Melissa Sargent went to work on building hope in growing jobs that the Walker downward curve changed.

July 2013

...As I reflect on heart-to-heart conversations (click here) I have had with the people of our neighborhoods, as well as the thousands of letters and e-mails that I have received, it is clear that as Wisconsinites we value health care for all, quality public education at all levels, protecting our natural resources, and a fair and balanced tax system. These values are what makes Wisconsin great and our community thrive. Not only does this budget fail our progressive values, it is so extreme that it received bipartisan opposition in part because there is an increases our property taxes, and it also creates a half billion dollar structural deficit.

I am more resolved than ever to travel through the 48 Assembly District, and across Wisconsin, to discuss what the real values are of the people of Wisconsin
and how we move our great state forward. If there is anything you would like to have included in future updates, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

In the last two months, Wisconsin's unemployment rate had inched up and places like Janesville is wondering why.

Moody's Wisconsin Ratings (click here) Wisconsin does not have a Moody's Aaa rating. It just doesn't. There are cities going into debt across Wisconsin and their ratings are dropped to Aa3.

Previous administrations in Wisconsin maintained a AA credit rating. Under Wisconsin the rating fell to Aa1 and fluctuates between that and Aa2 with some cities seeing Aa3 ratings. The Aa1 ratings are usually assigned to specific bond issues, while the Aa2 rating is held for Wisconsin's general budget. That might explain why Wisconsin is paying high debt costs on it's infrastructure.

...Roys: (click here) I think we’re seeing the effects of putting things on the credit card when it comes to our roads. Now we’re spending twice as much on debt service for just basic road repair and maintenance --

Walters: -- 22 or 23 percent.

Roys: Right. And I think when he (Walker) came in, it was something like 10 or 11 percent....

...To look at what’s happened during Walker’s tenure, we use as a base the 2010-’11 state fiscal year -- the second year of the final state budget under under his Doyle:
State budget year
Amount of transportation debt payments
Debt payments as a percentage of  transportation revenue
2010-’11: Final budget year under Doyle
$197.2 million
11.5%
*2017-’18: Current budget year
$380.2 million
20%
*2018-’19: Starts July 1, 2018
$398.4 million
20.9%
Doubling would be 23 percent, so 20.9 percent is pretty close.
But it’s worth noting that the figures for 2017-18 and 2018-’19 are estimates, though they are based on the 2017-’19 state budget and are not expected to change much....
Jacky Rosen is ready for a vital place in the US Senate. She is on the House Subcommittee of Military Personnel and also the Subcommittee of Air and Land Forces. She is also on the Subcommittee for Energy as well as Research and Technology. She also participated in the House Women’s Caucus. I am impressed, she wasted no time being involved in some of the most important issues of 2018. Wow.

She does more than support the Affordable Care Act, she holds the line on costs. She wants discrimination in costs of pre-existing conditions and age to stop. As a potential to compete with commercial insurers, she wants private citizens to have the capacity to, and get this, “buy in” to Medicaid. That is an incredible idea as it would provide healthcare coverage as well as improve Medicaid funding. That idea has a great deal of potential that I would like to see explored.

Jacky Rosen has a life to be proud of which includes her spouse that works in healthcare and a daughter in college. She has always been a leader as president of her synagogue before taking a place in the US House. She is impressive in every way and doesn’t shy away from the tough issues and is committed to fiscal responsibility. I like her.

One other issue on the minds of Nevada parents is education. Nevada has been struggling to improve its education performance. Jacky Rosen has sought to be pivotal for Nevada. As a matter of fact in July of 2018 she received the “Champion for Children fAward” as presented by the bipartisan group First Focus Campaign for her unmatched work in providing STEM education funding. She stated in receiving the award that the character of a society is best realized in how it  treats the children.

Jacky Rosen has not disappointed Nevada to improve it’s educational strength. She didn’t stop with children, she also made sure US Veterans received their educational benefits. Nevada needs her in the US Senate. She makes Nevada stronger.
Stacey Abrams is nearly over qualified  for the office of Governor of Georgia; but Georgia really needs her. Her talents far outweigh her peers. She was writing speeches for congressional candidates since the age of 17. She has been studying economics, social science and political science most of her life. She wore her ethnicity well and stood up for civil rights beginning in 1992. Her professional career took a unique quality when she earned her legal degree at Yale in 1999. And get this, when she went to work as a lawyer it was in healthcare, public financing and tax exempt organizations. Is she ready to set policy for Georgia or what?

Her public career is inspiring when at the age of 29 she was tapped to serve as the Deputy City Lawyer for Atlanta. While serving in the Georgia legislature she served on the Ethics Committee, Ways and Means Committee, and Rules Committee. She knows how to live with a budget without getting tangled up with corruption. She became Minority Leader and instituted reforms as well as stopping a tax increase. Despite ending a tax increase and with her government reform the Georgia legislature passed the largest public transportation funding in Georgia history. She is a dynamo.

It is impossible to list all the awards Stacey Abrams has won in her life. She loves children and seeks every opportunity to improve their quality of life.

She needs to be Governor of Georgia.

Go, Stacey, Go!
