"Good Night, Moon" (click here for official website of "Spacex" - thank you)

New moon

29.2 days old

0.1 percent lit.

The climate crisis is a primary example of how human beings overrun the capacity of the natural world. We should not make the same mistake with the moon, Mars or other space ventures as has occurred with a very stressed Earth and it's dead global coral reefs among other factors that should be telling human beings their technology is more than the natural world can handle.

Before large amounts of assets are assigned to space and exploration to change the way human beings think about the world and space, we need to have a UN Conference on the ethics of space and how decision making occurs. Now is the time for such conventions of thought, not after all the mistakes are made.

SpaceX is an interesting company and the precision of this launch and satellite deployment cannot be ignored.

The Moon (click here) has always served as an inspiration for humanity, and there are many potential benefits for further exploration of our planet’s rocky satellite.
But we need to establish guidelines to prevent unethical behaviour on the Moon, particularly regarding the use of natural resources and off-planet labour.
How humans should interact with space and celestial objects is central to the emerging field of space ethics. It’s something I’ve been involved with since 2015, when I taught my first class on consent for the use of celestial objects at Yale University’s Summer Bioethics Institute....
