How very typical of "Time" magazine to choose the wrong person for "Person of the Year."

There was only one vote that matter in the 2016 election and it was the heaviest thumb on the scale.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

I am very happy for Vice President Biden. The Senate passed his moon shot to end cancer. That was admirable for everyone involved and a wonderful recognition of the Vice President and his long years in governance. He had to be one of the greatest moments in his life.

But, true to form, within this enormously wonderful gesture is the dummying down of the FDA.

Today, Senators overwhelmingly (click here) passed the massive 21st Century Cures Act with a 94-to-5 vote.

The $6.3 billion, nearly 1,000-page (PDF) health legislation has been in the works since 2014 and spans far-flung issues. One of the bill’s central and most controversial aims is to relax and accelerate the Food and Drug Administration’s drug approval process, which backers argue will usher new, life-saving treatments to patients faster. The bill is also designed to simplify research grants and policy, make mental health a national priority, bolster monitoring of drug-resistant bacteria, provide states with funding to fight the opioid crisis, and support three Obama-era research initiatives, including Vice President Biden’s cancer moonshot....

...Still, not everyone is happy about the political slam dunk. Some Democrats and watchdog groups fear that the legislation will tie the FDA’s hands, allowing pharmaceutical and medical device companies to hustle dangerous and feeble treatments into doctor’s offices and hospitals.
“The legislation includes a grab bag of goodies for Big Pharma and medical device companies that would undermine requirements for ensuring safe and effective drugs and medical devices,” Michael Carome, director of the Public Citizen’s health research group, said in a statement.
Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) shared similar concerns. In a statement, Sanders said, “The greed of the pharmaceutical industry has no limit, and this bill includes numerous corporate giveaways that will make drug companies even richer.”...
I think now is the time to begin planning the elections of 2020. The Democrats need to put more people in Congress. The US House has to be weighted to be able in intercede with absolutely crazy ideas. There will be many. Now is the best time to take on the challenge of returning the government to the people rather than a madman's idea of what is best for the world and country, albeit, hidden in hubris and vengeful statements who challenge his new authority.

I remember when "W" came into office, there was an Op-Ed by Nicholas Kristoff that boiled down to "Honey gets you more than vinegar." It was a message, no matter how veiled it might have been, that the new "W" administration would make life difficult for those with opposition to his administration. It was "W"rong of Mr. Kristoff, a magnificently prepared journalist with an education that is unchallenged, as it is today for anyone to wave the white flag in hopes of better treatment. There is no such thing as surrender to allowing such dense hubris to exist as if reality. That is what happened in Iraq. The number of people that have died in the middle east since the inauguration of George W. Bush clearly indicates the price of opposing such leadership brings a very high price.

I don't care if Mr. Trump attempts to destroy this country by destroying the law. That is treason. If Mr. Trump does nothing but hand out incompetency and lies that is grounds for impeachment. And if none of that holds water, then there is misery for Mr. Trump and his administration every day of their power brokering. I will enjoy every moment.

President-elect Donald Trump’s (click here) transition team is considering a Silicon Valley investor close to billionaire Peter Thiel to head the Food and Drug Administration, according to people familiar with the matter.
Jim O’Neill, the Thiel associate, hasn’t been officially selected, according to the people, who asked to remain anonymous because the decision process is private, and the Trump team could still go in another direction.

O’Neill is a managing director at Thiel’s Mithril Capital Management, and last served in government during the George W. Bush administration as principal associate deputy secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services. He’s also a board member of the Seasteading Institute, a Thiel-backed venture to create new societies at sea, away from existing governments....
Another unqualified Wall Street opportunist at the FDA. Mr. Thiel is a philosopher by education and then became a lawyer. I suppose there is a lot to be said about an attorney that philosophizes the law rather than practice it.

He ranks #246 of the Fortune 400 and stated to be worth $2.7 billion. I believe he sold PayPal to E-Bay. (click here) PayPal was investigated by AGs around the country for it's role in online gaming.

Last time the FDA was under attack it was under "W" and it resulted in a Whistle Blower coming forward about the mischief that was a threat to the public's well being. So, be prepared. There will be headlines coming forward that will provide insight to the insanity of the Trump White House. Besides being interesting it will prove further that the American people are not at the heart of the Republican Party.

No one is going to be bombing Iran.

Royal Dutch Shell has signed a provisional agreement (click here) to develop oil and gas fields in Iran, a move that could signal energy companies will not be deterred from doing business with the Islamic Republic despite uncertainty whether a Trump administration will scrap a nuclear deal agreed to by world powers.

A spokesman for Shell said a memorandum of agreement was signed Wednesday with the National Iranian Oil Co. "to further explore areas of potential cooperation." The agreement is nonbinding and involves the development of Iran's oil fields in South Azadegan and Yadavaran and the Kish gas field, according to Reuters. The South Azadegan and Yadavaran fields straddle the border with Iraq.

Royal Dutch Shell is based in the Netherlands but has operations in the U.S. It is the largest energy company to venture back into Iran since sanctions were lifted after a nuclear deal was implemented in January. It's a move that could signal the controversial deal will remain intact despite threats to renegotiate or scrap it by President-elect Donald Trump, who has called the deal, signed by six world powers in late 2015, a "disaster" and the "worst deal ever negotiated."...

Another unqualified hubris candidate. The Secretary of the EPA should be a world class chemist.

This is a deadly serious nomination that protects the domestic lives of Americans. The air they breath, the water they drink and the conditions of the land. This JOKE of a nomination is a violation of the PUBLIC TRUST instilled in the President of the USA.

Mr. Pruitt doesn't know squat about the work of the EPA and it's importance in protecting the domestic lives of Americans. This is a completely irresponsible nomination.

I would have thought Mr. Trump would be aware of deadly serious issues that manifested in Flint, Michigan from still yet another "Hubris" Governor. The lead in water in the USA is a national shame and only speaks to the negligence of legislators that hack away at these vital laws and grossly underfunded such as the EPA to inhibit it's influence in the country.

This further proves the Trump White House does not care about the people of this country, but, only Wall Street and his particular idea of fun. This is gross mismanagement of the federal government.

President-elect Donald Trump (click here) intends to nominate Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to head the Environmental Protection Agency, according to multiple news reports. Trump's transition team has not confirmed the news to NPR.

As attorney general, Pruitt has made no secret of his disdain for the EPA.

His official biography calls him "a leading advocate against the EPA's activist agenda." He has repeatedly challenged the agency's rules in court, and he has even sued the EPA for an allegedly cozy "sue and settle" relationship with environmentalists. One profile noted that Pruitt would sue the federal government "every chance he can get."

Pruitt, who met with Trump Thursday morning at Trump Tower in New York, has been an ardent defender of fossil fuels and the coal industry. The New York Times has reported that one letter to the EPA from Pruitt was ghostwritten by lawyers for Devon Energy, an Oklahoma oil and gas company....

The opposition to the nomination of General Mattis is not about a highly respected general, but, the reverence to the rule of law.

December 1, 2016
By Dan Lamothe

President-elect Donald Trump (click here) said Thursday he has chosen retired Marine Gen. James N. Mattis, who has said that responding to “political Islam” is the major security issue facing the United States, to be secretary of defense.

“We are going to appoint Mad Dog Mattis as our secretary of defense,” Trump told a rally in Cincinnati, the first stop on a post-election “thank-you tour.”

To take the job, Mattis will need Congress to pass legislation to bypass a federal law stating that defense secretaries must not have been on active duty in the previous seven years. Congress has granted a similar exemption just once, when Gen. George C. Marshall was appointed to the job in 1950.

Earlier Thursday, Jason Miller, a spokesman with the Trump transition team, tweeted that no decision had been made, but Trump’s son Donald Jr. retweeted a report saying that Mattis got the job....

It is disquieting the Trump family is more privy to the decisions of this administration than anyone else. This type of 'tweet' is typical of what is transpiring. Why is that okay?

Then there is a hint of 'special treatment' with these actions by Congress. But, as I have stated there is a very good chance the path this Congress and President are heading down is hubris. Hubris is what got us into the Iraq war. Cheney and "W" went on tour to promote the war in Iraq as part of the war on terror. If one remembers the mood of the country, it was primarily confused. "Go enjoy your life," but, we have terrorists about so be careful while your are enjoying your life and stockpiling duct tape.

Hubris is real. It attempts to take political campaigns and make them real. Some of that is the business of the government that was a part of that political campaign and some is unrealistic and not based in reality. That lack of reality is a very big lead into corruption. Making truth out of lies is a dangerous path for the USA. I think the "W" years is the most recent proof of that.

This administration used making of hubris to win an election. The campaign was laced with lies and personal attacks. Lies and personal attacks don't make for governance so much as power brokering. So, the journalists have their hands full, but, I am sure that is the way they like it.

The "W" years proved to have all this 'personality' to legislation such as "Terri's Law." So, to some extent Mattis appearing in a funding bill is more of the same. But, I think this nomination is more hubris than necessary. Tough guy Marine General Mattis retired during the Obama years. It is supposed to be a way to rub President Obama's Democratic nose in the fact he could not keep such a man inspired enough to continue in the Marine Corp.

Mattis agrees with President Obama in a two state solution between Palestine and Israel, but, he is highly critical of the Iran Agreement. He also believes the Iran Agreement is not reversible and the USA has to live with it. Somehow, with an American general stating the USA will just have to live with it, is reassuring. Very much so.

General Mattis also believes ISIS/Daesh sees Iran as a neutral country of which it has befriended. That is bizarre.

Iran was not invaded by ISIS/Daesh because Iran has a strong military that once fought a war with Saddam Hussein. Daesh is a manifestation of the old Ba'athist. It is just simple. The wacko that leads him was once a prisoner of the USA and also stated to be affiliated to al Qaeda in Iraq.

Daesh established itself in a very covert manner in Syria only to hold a civil war that destabilized Assad. Iran is a Shia majority and Daesh is Sunni although it does not find a reason to bond with other Sunni; Daesh rather kill them. Daesh is not a manifestation of Iran. They were not created to allow Iran to expand it's influence into Iraq. Iran does not and has not needed a war to influence Iraq. Iraq is a Shia majority as well. They are natural allies. As I stated before national building doesn't work, while generals such as Mattis think nation building is what the USA does best.

I can't believe Trump is actually interested in Mattis because Mattis strongly believes Russia is interested in breaking up NATO. Hello? This is the antagonist to Putin's dreams of Trump's election, a very big thumb on the scale.

Maybe that is why Congress is so eager to place an exemption into the USA funding. Congress will have a Secretary of Defense that actually believes NATO is a valuable ally. I think Congress is afraid of their new Republican leader.

Oh, yeah. There is this.

James N. Mattis, director since 2013. (click here)
Retired General, U.S. Marine Corps. Commander, United States Central Command, 2010 to 2013. Commander U.S. Joint Forces Command, 2007 to 2010. NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, 2007 to 2009.

At least Don Rumsfeld only had a Wall Street interest in Big Pharma.

General Dynamics' net income rose to $701 million, or $2.09 per share, in the fourth quarter, from $495 million, or $1.40 per share, a year earlier. Analysts on average expected revenue of $8.04 billion, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.Jan 28, 2015

No matter how you look at Trump's nominations and appointments are
Wall Street. This administration is going to cost the American people. There is
never going to be a modest budget and the national debt be damned.

General Dynamics, maker of Gulfstream jets, tanks and U.S. Navy ships, (click here) reported a 42 percent jump in fourth-quarter profit and said quarterly aircraft orders were at their highest in more than three years.
The company said operating margins rose to 12.8 percent in the quarter from 11.5 percent a year earlier.
Weapons makers in the United States have cut costs to increase profitability in the face of lower defense spending. They have also held up their stock prices by returning cash to shareholders through buybacks and strong dividends.

General Dynamics said on Wednesday it returned about $4.2 billion to shareholders through stock repurchases and dividends in 2014, more than triple the amount paid the previous year....

The law:

10 U.S. Code § 113 - Secretary of Defense (click here)
The law Congress is circumventing is the very definition of the Secretary of Defense. It is outrageous to realize the US Congress is indulging and pandering to a newly elected President by defying the Constitutional Law of the definition of the US Secretary of Defense. How many of the laws that exist in this country will be demised and undermined by this Congress in hubris and pandering to the new president and the electorate they have to continue to blow joy up their skirts?

This is outrageous and the US House already knows they have a problem with passing the nomination because they are practicing brinkmanship over funding in order to achieve the amendment. Typical cowardliness of the USA Republican Congress. The won't debate it honestly as a free standing bill, but, they'll hide behind the very funding of the government to insure they slickly pacified their electorate and their new Republican leader. The Republican Congress does that a lot because they nothing but corrupt; ie: The CitiGroup Amendment. (click here)

I thought the Republicans were the great defenders of the US Constitution? NOT! They are the great defenders of Wall Street and the impoverishment of the American people. Here is another example of how Republican hubris is more important than the country and it's "Rule of Law."

Kind of a strange picture, Right? Whales spouting moist air at the same time at an angle the sun created a rainbow.

It is an odd picture, but, it is America to own it.

A day after the Climate Crisis came to the forefront of the USA's priorities, there are many standing to join the renaissance.

06 December 2016
By Jocelyn Timperley

A group of financial heavyweights, (click here) including media magnate and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Wall Street banker and former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, has today urged businesses and governments across the world put in place actionable plans to incorporate climate risk into their decision-making.

The new report from the bi-partisan Risky Business Project, which aims to provide a business-focused assessment of the economic risks and opportunities related to climate change, argues tackling climate change is both economically and technically achievable and would create significant new opportunities for American business.

The Risky Business Project is co-chaired by Bloomberg, Paulson, and billionaire investor and environmental donor Thomas Steyer....

I would encourage Mr. Steyer to invite the former Vice President Al Gore to join the group.

...The group also details how the required investment in clean energy would more than pay for itself in the long run, yielding a predicted average of $366bn in savings a year from reductions in spending on fossil fuels....

It is obvious to most people working to invoke change to reverse the trend of the Climate Crisis that it is a very expensive path to allow this level of heat in Earth's troposphere. The investment in to alternative energies and conservation strategies will more than pay for themselves in only a few years. The lives that will be saved alone when Earth achieves a normal balance with the help of such investments is worth the effort.

The scientists in the world, including those of the IPCC, know how to restore this planet to it's lush state that will return a troposphere of live and protection for generations to enjoy it.

We are living on a garden of beauty if only appreciated as the very common home we all share.

Sometimes there are heroes waiting in the wings that come forward because the status of their dreams become mainstream. Sometimes it is a simple as that. I look forward to the successful outcomes and with Vice President Al Gore as an observer and adviser the results will be insured.

Nation building doesn't work.

The Taliban are not defeated. They have been reconstituting in Pakistan since they were chased from Afghanistan by the USA military. If "W" hadn't diverted the war in Afghanistan to Iraq this would have been over already.

Osama bin Laden is dead. The occupation of Afghanistan has been nothing more than the USA military keeping a toe hold into the region. The war against al Qaeda is over. There are stranglers of the original regime still alive or so we are lead to believe. Even the one eyed Mullah Omar has been dead for years. Fifteen years is nearly a full generation and nothing has changed that much. The war was against al Qaeda.

I wish the new leadership within Afghanistan a peaceful existence with those that seek stability in the region including Saudi Arabia.

If the trillions of US spent in this hideous war that was over years ago had been spent in Puerto Rico, the conditions would be extremely different and quite possibly the waiting list for a pediatrician would be months long.

A hilltop overlooking Kabul, where a $100 million Saudi-funded mosque and education complex was to be built. Construction was scheduled for completion this year, but the hilltop site remains a dusty lot where boys fly kites and drug addicts crouch beside a cemetery wall.

Kabul, Afghanistan — Fifteen years, (click here) half a trillion dollars and 150,000 lives since going to war, the United States is trying to extricate itself from Afghanistan. Afghans are being left to fight their own fight. A surging Taliban insurgency, meanwhile, is flush with a new inflow of money.

With their nation’s future at stake, Afghan leaders have renewed a plea to one power that may hold the key to whether their country can cling to democracy or succumbs to the Taliban. But that power is not the United States.

It is Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is critical because of its unique position in the Afghan conflict: It is on both sides.

A longtime ally of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia has backed Islamabad’s promotion of the Taliban. Over the years, wealthy Saudi sheikhs and rich philanthropists have also stoked the war by privately financing the insurgents.

The United States is not a perfect country. It has a dark side that should be contained. Exonerate Ethel Rosenberg in a ceremony befitting the sincere greatest of the USA.

Ethel Rosenberg at her high school graduation.

...Ethel Rosenberg (click here) was a victim of this mass hysteria, this "scoundrel time" as Lillian Hellman called it.

Mr. President, it is now time to right this wrong. It is time to exonerate Ethel Rosenberg.

Her sons, Michael and Robert Meeropol, are hoping to see you today. Please see them. Please accept the petition that I and 40,000 others have signed -- and I now ask everyone reading this to sign it also: www.rfc.org/ethel.

Go, Joe, Go!

Vice President Joe Biden had a political PAC. He should begin his race and begin speeches at fund raising events.

Screw 'em.

There is a very odd pattern manifesting with the Trump inner circle. They are talking out both sides of their mouth.

NATO is an ally, but, NATO should be desolved.

Taiwan is an ally and if China can't see that then screw 'em.

This inconsistent approach is exactly what occurred with "W" when it came to Iraq. "The Axis of Evil" and then he began a war to end it.

China was "W"s best friend because it delivered cheap labor to Wall Street cronies. Yes, Wall Street cronies. Wall Street used outsourced labor. No one else but me has seen a "Made in China" label other than Walmart? There are also interests within the wealthy families of the USA in Walmart and Koch and Trump himself in manufacturing his fashion products. Koch has an entire family division in China. Walmart is obvious.

Yet, Russia was evil, except, when Bush saw Putin's soul in his eyes.

NATO was an annoyance to "W" because they didn't back his private war into Iraq. Yes, it was a private war, he disregarded the UN, "He tried to kill my father." and it was highly immoral and illegal.

Here Trump finds Russia an ally and the hell with NATO. China is an evil element in the world of global trade and Taiwan is an ally. All of that sounds like war.

AGAIN. Republicans run on hubris. The Tea Party is not running politically on hubris, but, their governance seeks to end the idea their politics is hubris. They are extremists. Don't lose sight of that. They have the potential to be very dangerous in this world and it can happen in a flash of a second as it did with Taiwan.

The sincere relationship the USA has with Taiwan in "The One China Policy" is more Republican crony contracts. Taiwan holds military contracts. Those are crony contracts. Taiwan may think it has an ally, but, in actuality Taiwan simply is a consumer of American military goods. Taiwan is a customer and nothing more. There is no formal alliance. "One China Policy."

See, Trump's inner circle is invested in being noble in their hubris. They can lose the honor part, it is nothing but inflammatory. There goes the tough guy act. Oh, sorry, tough guy policies.
Jon Huntsman, Jr.
American politician - the 16th Governor of Utah and candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Jon Huntsman has an exceptionally good base of knowledge to be the Secretary of State. There is no one else that has more understanding of the Asia Pacific. Given the mistake in calling Taiwan it is evident this administration needs Jon Huntsman.

He obviously stands with the Tea Party as well.

If the Asia Pacific is going to be a focus of the Trump administration there is no one else as qualified to assist the President with policies that work.

Additionally, John Huntsman, Sr. provided $100 million of personal wealth to build the "Huntsman Cancer Institute." (click here) He knows something about health care.
Existing pipelines in the USA and Canada are already more sufficient than necessary. The existing pipelines need to be replaced in an infrastructure project. The priority for updating pipelines has to come from the governance of the USA, not from the petroleum industry that link new pipelines with labor paychecks for the sole purpose of political pressure.

Labor paychecks can be best served by identifying old pipelines and lobbying Congress for infrastructure projects to make the country safe from leaks and pollution. This entire idea of building new pipelines is out of control.

Kevin Gilbert is again live on Facebook.

Link click here.

They prayed and now are marching to the bridge. The governor did not order this if he stands by his statements previously.

This is a police action of some kind. I believe they are using the Governor's emergency order to justify a move against the encampment. The 400 nations of Native Americans have taken a stand to this water issue and it is important. While it seems strange to talk about drought and protection of water with snowfall and cold conditions this is exactly the problem. Earth's warming is dire and important to address. Any protections of water resources anywhere is vital to end the dangers to our "Common Home."

There are American soldiers walking with the 400 Nation coalition. This is serious. The police need to realize these people are not leaving until they believe the water is safe. The police are inappropriate in having any hostile outcome to the encampment. The police need to reverse their hostile stand and offer to make supplies coming to the encampment safe from interruption. This has to deescalate.

The Climate Crisis is not a partisan issue. Former Vice President Al Gore and dedicated activist Leonardo DiCaprio know that.

Both Vice President Gore and Leonardo DiCapro are not casual observers of politics. They became involved with this issue because of the dire consequences to Earth and all the life on it.

I am impressed Ivanka Trump has decided to take this problem as one of her focus to her new standing in the political community. Vice President Al Gore is not a light weight when it comes to speaking the truth and pointing the way to a different resolve to the Climate Crisis. When Vice President Gore accepted the Nobel Peace Prize he began a network of educators in the USA to change the message regarding the Climate Crisis.

Vice President Gore would never turn from any opportunity to resolve this important problem facing humanity regarding it's common home. I, as always, remain hopeful, but, reserve the right to descent if I feel the path is misdirected. I congratulate Vice President Gore for his continued dedication and incredible leadership. I welcome a new face to this problem in Ivanka Trump. Having young children she is, of course, interested what they will inherit.

Former Vice President Al Gore (click here) waves to members of the media after meeting with Ivanka Trump and President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower, Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, in New York. (AP Photo/Andrew Harnik)

...It's not quite totally surprising (click here) that Ivanka Trump would meet with a climate change activist; her role in her father's campaign was to seem kind of reasonable about a few pet issues without actually influencing anything he said or did in a useful or humane way. (She apparently met recently with Leonardo DiCaprio to discuss global warming as well.) But on the other hand, it is totally surprising, because Donald Trump has written that "the concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive" and has called the evidence of climate change a "hoax" on at least four occasions.
By the way, for our readers who come from the generation of people who didn't recognize Dan Quayle when he had his own Trump Tower meeting: Before he became a climate guy, Al Gore was the vice president of the United States. He ran for president in 2000 and was defeated after a controversial recount process, which is why many people now call him "the original Jill Stein."...

Ben Carson would have been great at HHS.

The nomination of Dr. Ben Carson to HUD is a racist appointment. If he was going to head up the Department of Health and Human Services it would be a far better request.

The nomination of Dr. Carson to HHS would be the logical choice because President Obama began a priority to brain medicine. There was considerable funding for that effort. Vice President Biden has begun a "moon shot" against cancer that took the life of a dearly loved son. If a world class neurosurgeon was nominated for HHS it would have been a very good choice.

I challenge Congressional Democrats to assess the nominations to the President's cabinet and realize why they were PUT IN PLACE. The nominations stick out like a sore thumb.

The Congressional Democrats will not be standing alone.

President-elect Donald Trump’s (click here) nomination of six-term Congress member Tom Price (R-Ga.) for secretary of health and human services has inflamed the medical community bigly this week, causing widespread and bitter infighting....
Price is an orthopedist. There is huge corporate profit in the orthopedic companies. Price is angry about the medical equipment taxes brought by the ACA. Price is there to address crony complaints and not the well being of the American people.

When Price deregulates medical equipment taxes, where is he going to get the monies for the Medicaid extensions? When Price seeks to remove taxes related to the ACA it should be headlines around the country, especially, in states that have found the Medicaid extension important.

Medicaid is primarily funded by the federal government AND the biggest complaint by Congressional Republicans is that Medicaid is broken. Really? Has the defunding of Medicaid by Republicans over the years broke it? Of course, it did. And now that the impoverished in the USA finally have medical coverage that helps them to receive the MEDICAL COVERAGE OTHER AMERICANS take for granted, the Republicans are going to defund it all the more.

I remind, the Medicaid Extension is saving lives. Medicaid is not about pandering to some sort of constituency of Democrats, it saves lives. People have died when they could still be alive with the benefits of the Medicaid extension. There are deaths on the books in the states where the Medicaid Extension was not accepted and used ONLY as a political tool. It can be measured. What is everyone waiting for?
Price is not a particularly shocking pick by Trump—the Congressman is one of the fiercest Obamacare critics, and Trump vowed during his campaign to quickly repeal and replace the mammoth healthcare law. Beyond that, Price, a former orthopedic surgeon, has maintained strong conservative positions on healthcare policy. He opposes abortion rights and regulations on tobacco, for instance. But he also belongs to a small, fringe, ultra-conservative and conspiracy-laden group called the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS). Among other things, this group decries evidence-based medicine, Medicare, and Medicaid, plus it has peddled discredited, dangerous notions including that vaccines cause autism.

In light of some or all of those facts, many in the medical community were left aghast and fuming by support of Price’s nomination from top medical associations, namely the powerful American Medical Association (AMA) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). In the past few days, thousands of doctors have signed letters and petitions, condemned the groups’ support, and publicly quit the AMA. The hashtag #NotMyAMA has gathered steam on Twitter....
The global trade agreements is a Republican ideology and panders to "Family billionaires" that fund them. The most obvious example is the Kochs. But, the Trumps are a family billionaire company, too. There are some in the USA that are far worse than Wall Street in their crony focus and demands on the DC structure to provide their profits. In the case of the Kochs, their family feeds off the USA federal government decisions. The regulations in the USA are correct to insure the well being of the country, but, family businesses like the Kochs want their own priorities to be federal policy and that has nothing to do with the well being of the people of the USA.

When the TPP came for a vote in the Obama Administration it was the Republicans that passed the agreement. Those votes can't be changed. They are proof of who in Congress actually pass these horrid relationships between countries. The TPP is a Republican ideology that robs the people of their middle class status and casts them into poverty.

The Republican hubris will turn the tables on all this. It is up to the Democrats to be a step ahead of their hubris laden politics. When the Republicans turn their hubris on the Democrats, the DNC has to come forward with THE TRUTH. Fast talking Republicans should be under fire for their past and present allegiance to particular billionaire families that pad their election treasuries. The facts are there and it is the truth. Put the facts forward and for the US House and Senators coming to election in 2018 start it now.

This administration will be laden with lies. Each lie has to be interrupted before it gets started. The State of the Union speeches are going to provide very fertile words for correction and the truth of the issues stated. I think the Democrats have to come forward to push 'the truth' in their politics. It is the duty of the Congressional Democrats to bring the best governance to the people.

The lie that permeates the Trump administration is the FACT he has a STRATEGY panel against them. That panel is lined with anti-Social Security advisers. THAT IS COMPLETE DISLOYALTY to the people that voted for Trump because he promised nothing would happen to the entitlements of the USA. He lied. This is a huge lie. This is not a casual 'oops.' If Donald Trump is determined to carry out his campaign promises then his administration has been hijacked by the extremists that surround him. It is up to the Democrats to reveal the real agenda of this administration.

The Green Party needs to stay on track with their recounts.

To begin, Jill Stein has good policies. When she came forward to demand a recount of the state's votes she stated this is not unusual for the Green Party. This is what they do. The Green Party seeks answers to odd elections in the USA. No oppression of the cultural focus of the Green Party should occur. I wish her the best.

There is nothing to say during the next four years Jill Stein won't become a prominent leader in the politics of the USA. This is political diversity gaining ground. It is very important.

Green Party (click here) presidential candidate Jill Stein is taking her bid for a statewide recount of Pennsylvania's Nov. 8 presidential election to federal court.

After announcing Stein and recount supporters were dropping their case in state court, lawyer Jonathan Abady said they will seek an emergency federal court order Monday.

"Make no mistake — the Stein campaign will continue to fight for a statewide recount in Pennsylvania," Abady said in a statement Saturday night. "We are committed to this fight to protect the civil and voting rights of all Americans."

He said barriers to a recount in Pennsylvania are pervasive and the state court system is ill-equipped to address the problem.

Brinckerhoff & Abady attorney Ilann Maazel addressed the recount fight at a 10 a.m. news conference Monday....
"Morning Papers"

The Rooster

"Okeydoke"

I am not surprised at any of the nominations to the President's cabinet. I would fully expect the entire administration to be populous. The newspapers cartoonists are going to enjoy this administration. But, I fully express this administration to be governing by Hubris. When "W" took office, I believe it was Maureen Dowd, wrote an Op-Ed about the hubris of that administration. That is what Republicans do and the strategy is to keep their electorate (about 35 percent traditionally) remain engaged.

The fact Donald Trump called Taiwan and gunmen are running around carrying out self-investigations is to be expected. Lone wolves are very much a part of this electorate. These are the folks that elected this guy. The campaign purposely went into the extremists circles in the country to bring voters to the polls.

It is going to be a turbulent four years and I would not be surprised at anything that occurs.

The House and Senate committee members for any of the cabinet posts should be met with public engagement by the Democrats and Independents. There needs to be a strong public presence by the Democrats. Good governance is paramount to engagement of the cabinet members and movement within the congressional committees. The engagement of the public for eight years of President Obama made the governance nearly impossible. Well. This administration will govern by hubris and the majority House and Senate will vote to back that hubris.

Look, Republicans have been reaching into the back allies for votes since "W"/Rove took the White House. These are the people the administration will cater to and seek to carry out their agenda. BE READY and be aggressive in promoting Democratic values. AND FORGET THE TRADE AGREEMENTS.

When Senator Reid retires after the change in the congress, the DNC should bring him on as an adviser. Senator Reid is a great man and loves people, the DNC would be served by engaging their senior members.
This is a remarkable picture. Two First Ladies and Two Presidents.

Bill Clinton and Donald Trump have been friends a long time. They have even golfed occasionally together.

I think of any two people that should be friends at a very difficult time for the USA it should be the Former President Bill Clinton and the President - Elect Donald Trump. I know Bill Clinton is brokenhearted for his wife's loss, but, he has to admit there were more thumbs on that scale then can be counted.

Donald Trump has an inner circle from hell. I think a reasonable voice could be garnered if President Clinton doesn't mind being helpful.

I know Bill and Hillary Clinton are looking forward to their work in the Clinton Foundation. They are a remarkable example of people willing to set aside their own Foundation to serve in the White House. Granted they were volunteers, but, none the less it was a remarkable gesture.

Secretary Clinton can also raise funds for Democrats. People like her and she can be reassuring in speeches about the course ahead.

I wish all four of these exceptional people happiness and health. If nothing else it should be interesting.

Oh, by the way, all those grandchildren could get a glimpse of "Hedwig," Harry Potter's owl at the Turnberry golf course in Scotland during the Christmas festivities. (click here)
