A federal judge in Dallas ordered Garrett Miller to remain in custody until he is tried. Miller threatened Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Corte, Majority Leader Schumer and wanted to hang a Capital police officer.

I think the FBI and a country of police officers love their country and are doing a great job as are the judges.

No scruples

45 Republicans have no scruples. They are welcome to make fools of themselves with a vote of an unconstitutional bill.

Paxton needs to go.

How the heck did Texas ever get a carve out from immigration law?

Homeland Security cannot provide special conditions for anyone. Homeland Security is not allowed to change legislation because Texas wants it?

It doesn’t make sense that Texas would receive special treatment without a legislative initiative. Why pass federal law if Homeland Security is going to hand out exceptions to the law? Every state in the country would get in line.

The Biden Administration, as the Executive that makes day to day decisions for the country has a right to assess the state of immigration. The 100
day moratorium is a reasonable decision in order to determine the way forward.

In addition, there is an emergency at the borders of the Northern Triad. There is a global pandemic. The deportation of people back to these countries will make their emergency worse. There is an obligation the USA has to reduce the pandemic and moving people all over the globe is grossly dangerous.

The 100 day moratorium is the correct decision. This is not a change of law. It is a temporary measure to establish policy.

Pre-meditated murder

Normally, local commanders of the National Guard have the authority to deploy their troops in case of an emergency that could effect American lives. The Washington Post is reporting that before the January 6th insurrection the commander’s authority was negated by the Pentagon.

The deployment of the National Guard on January 6th newly required higher ranking officers. We know those higher authorities were mostly unavailable. Vice President Pence had to call the Secretary of the Navy to request that authority and deploy the National Guard.

Both, the Inspector General and Congress need to carry out investigations. Major General Walker should be a witness at the impeachment. The insurrection was planned and expected to kill people that day.

It was all premeditated with fatal outcomes. There is at least one traitor in the Pentagon. Was someone holding a gun to his/her head or was it a willing act of sabotage of the USA Constitution.

Politics with the impeachment.

Rand Paul is playing politics with the USA Constitution. Just that simple. There is no real issue as the basis of his nonsense. When doesn’t Rand Paul object to gain the spot light regardless the issue at hand.

He is fueling “an enemy” imagine of the Democrats. He either is mimicking Trump or more like it his “style” if you will was mimicked by Trump. At any rate Rand is “acting out” and will seek to divide the Senate and the country. He is an enemy to the USA Constitution and the people that want their problems solved.

Young men and boys

In observing boys at play on playgrounds they are very physical. They use balls and goal posts of one kind or another. They are missing that growth dynamic during the pandemic. They would miss it even if they were at school because they are required to play in small groups to prevent transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.

When I reflect on that growth dynamic during this time a support group always comes to this issue. The difference between schools that still conduct in person classes and those that don’t is an invisible support network for the boys. So, what is best?

In observing children and young adults in the classroom during instruction the computer is there anyway. President Obama instituted a national directive to connect children to online education about a decade ago, so the idea the learning distance is the problem during the pandemic is completely wrong.

My experience with boys and young men is that they have a unique way to have an autonomous identity regardless of what is expected of them. That autonomy works well for them but they fight aloneness through physical activity in the way of a competitive spirit. That competitive spirit is a benevolent part of their identity.

A couple of things come to mind for boys. I have learned that in a classroom boys that are not doing well are more physical and mischievous. That unruliness is not a permanent condition. In educating boys a one on one to review the teaching will resolve that physical drive.

I rarely victimize a boy by shaming or sending them to the principal and only if the mischief is very disruptive and dangerous. What transpires is a one on one to teach while other students are working at their desk. Inevitably, the one on one triumphs and my troubled boy takes his seat with the rest of the class to complete his work.

That one on one is magical because it tells the entire class that I care about them and no learning has to be perfect or get a bad grade. After a one on one with a student in full view of the class others children will come to my desk asking for assistance in “getting the lesson right.” It is not cheating, they have to demonstrate a sincere understanding of the lesson. Percentage wise it is usually less than 10 percent of the class requiring help to “get it right.” They are all great young people some need help in “getting it right.”

That said, boys during the pandemic are missing there “playground support group” that assists their identity. I think that is a national shame. Just because a poorly addressed virus is secluding children from playground friends and their sport coaches there is no reason to consider it is okay “for now.” “For now” is forever when boys require validation to achieve their emotional growth.

So what do we do? Ask Tom Brady to do a series of football lessons for young men in high school and boys and the occasional girl. Then broadcast it or put it on “The Mirror” or “Zoom” WITH their hometown coach. It will put a new and novel way of understanding their desire to play a sport. They can practice on their own in measurable “reps,” etc. Reporting in to “the coach” individually or on Zoom will bring validation to their competitive spirit.

The same dynamic can be exercised with most sports that do not require large equipment such as gymnastics. Even gymnastics can be accommodated to a certain extent. There is absolutely nothing wrong with competing against a “personal best” so long as there is no risk for injury. To that end, limits have to be placed to respect the limit of a body to perform. Even Tom Brady knows that pushing past human limits can end a career.

Boys need the physical component to their growth in many cases. If they seem bored in practicing alone, they can teach Dad or Mom how to make the grade.

That is my input for what it is worth.

Super good news.

“Moderna” states their vaccine is effective against the British and South African variants.

I had hoped the vaccine would attack the projections of the virus hence disabling the infective ability of the virus.

A child vaccine has yet to materialize.

Those projections on the surface of the coronavirus are present in every stain. The entire idea that a vaccine would disable one strain of SARS-CoV-2 means it would disable all strains/variant. It didn’t make sense to me that the vaccines wouldn’t address all variants, but, that was being reported. Perhaps a lack of evidence brought about a negative report. I am pleased Moderna cleared that up. Thank you.

The ban on new oil wells is very welcome.

The Climate Crisis is and should be of profound importance. This year the collapse of the Arctic’s tropospheric vortex was far worse than previous years.

More later.

British Petroleum’s CEO is rolling back it’s plans for drilling oil wells. He stated getting out of the oil business is strategic for future business. The number of professionals involved in BP’s oil interests have been drastically cut as if this year.

The CEO sees 2030 as a “net zero” goal. His science regarding the crime crisis is spot on. Timelines for continued GHG emissions that goes beyond 2030 does not have accurate scientific information.

The IPCC is a non-political organization. They have marked 2030 as a vital goal in regard to GHG emissions to avoid the next tipping point that is expected to be dangerous.

BP plans on looking very different in the future. I congratulate him.

150 world leaders from industry as well, including Bill Ford from Ford Motor Company has signed an open letter to President Joe Biden to congratulate him on his steadfast decision to fight climate change. B/P is not alone. B/P will be a green energy company by 2030. These major companies are ready. They need the guidance of the President to provide a soft landing.

Congratulations President Biden on making all the tough decisions and to move the USA forward along with other countries.

SARS-CoV-2 variants are spreading through our children.

Schools will be required to add ultraviolet treatment to their HVAC systems. Schools without HVAC systems will have to consider their best way forward.

This is not an option. I can purchase hand held UV devices to treat incoming packages. The science is sound.

Congress MUST pass funding to change the quality of the air our children are breathing. Kindly remember children can pass the variants on to their siblings, parents and extended family.

The vaccines do not act against the variants. That is disappointing which brings up a lot of other issues.

As I have always stated, “The longer the virus is exposed to the human body environment the more opportunity to mutate exists.” I know no leader of any country wants to hear this, but, there is a very, very good chance that this virus will become such a chronic threat to people that a shut down of a country must occur in order STOP THE SPREAD. Get used to that idea.

Keeping the children home until this disaster has completely ended is a very good option! Why would anyone send a child into a war zone where they are guaranteed to lose? This virus by its interaction with the body causes damage to the body and brain.

Merck

Merck Company is no longer pursuing a vaccine to prevent COVID-19. They were not seeing a vibrant antibody response in comparison to other vaccines currently in use. The company is focusing on two treatments for recovery instead.

“See Something, Say Something “

Keeping America safe from terrorists, be they domestic or foreign, has not changed, say something. Suspicious behavior is suspicious behavior.

The only difference between domestic and foreign terrorists is familiarity. Sometimes friends are above suspicion. That is the only difference. Reporting a long time friend that really is intent to carry out physical harm and/or harm to a stable and benevolent government must be reported. Reporting to local police can be more immediate in a response, but, reporting to the FBI can be just as good. Ultimately, terrorists will be reported to the FBI.

Ever since the Boston terrorists carried out a successful attack on unwitting marathon competitors, big cities are taking the safety of citizens seriously at the local level. Reporting male and/or female domestic terrorists should be sent onto authorities that take reports seriously.

There is no bad reporting to authorities. Traitors are traitors. Protecting a neighborhood from the propagation of violence elsewhere is as vital to governing as if the domestic terrorist was going to carry the violence on their own street.

Terrorists are an attack on sanity as well as financial well being. Americans don’t see issues that occur in other parts of the world when it comes to infrastructure destruction. Americans repair the damage. Not all countries can do that. Prevention of domestic violence is as much an investment as saving up for a down payment on a home.

“See something, say something.”

Protect the future from continued sadness.

SNAP benefits

President Biden signed an Executive Order today that treats the USA as if it is actually in a health emergency. He opened the grain bins to feed America.

That actually is not an exaggerated statement.

One billion dollars spent on SNAP benefits actually returns 14,000 jobs and increases the USA GDP by $1.54 billion.

President Biden has been in Washington for decades representing Delaware, then became the first Vice President to the first minority President. I think we can trust him when he makes decisions that benefit Americans. After all, this one Executive Order proves he knows what he is doing.

One Executive Order will feed the people, including children, who need it the most. It will return jobs to the unemployed and in turn they will spend their paychecks and the USA GDP will show growth.

Americans need to stop listening to quacks from the political right wing and need to listen to their President. You gotta trust somebody. I trust Joe.

Wall Street comes before American

Jeremy Grantham, a well respected Wall Street investor type, is stating the Biden COVID Plan will make the Wall Street Bubble worse.

Hm.

Let’s think about that for a minute.

Janet Yellen is heading up the USA Treasury. I hear Munchkin tucked a few C notes in his pocket on the way out the door. At any rate there was none of this complaining when a man was at Treasury.

That said, Bubble? What bubble? Because Former President Obama had guardrails in place to prevent bubble and bust USA Wall Street investing.

That said, “Bubble?” “What bubble?”

The popular politics of Wall Street these days (since the American public woke up one day to see a DOW of more than $30,000) is to call that enormous jump, a bubble. Heck, quite a bubble I’d say. And, get this, to instill fear in the hearts of Americans, the word is that Wall Street is in a euphoric state of mind.

My, my. All the smart guys have lost their minds, so Americans need to mount the alarm and squelch Biden’s plans to a COVID relief bill and wait with baited breath for the most enormous breaking bubble ever in the history of the world.

I don’t think so.

To begin, the so called smart Wall Street types crying the sky is falling aren’t very smart, are they? Because if the smart guys were really smart there wouldn’t be a bubble. There would be wise investment to support stock prices with excellent company portfolios and assured stockholder dividends each quarter.

To end this charade of irresponsible investor types, the Biden COVID relief bill better not have monies for a $30,000 Wall Street. The relief is for Americans and the infrastructure of the country to end this horror called COVID-19.

The USA isn’t in the business of bailing out Wall Street anymore. After all American Airlines is now delivering their glut of warehouses of wine. Interesting. Liquidation of assets rather than donating to corrupt politicians to ensure a bailout when needed.

The Biden COVID Relief Bill is about the people, the manufacturers that have stepped up to the plate and hit one out of the park. It is about the States, too. There isn’t much room for Wall Street and its dysfunctional politicians this time around.

President Joseph Biden is a registered Parishioner at the Holy Trinity Church in Washington, DC.

Very nice.

He is the second Catholic president, the first was President Kennedy.

Attending Catholic mass is frequently a family affair. In the year of COVID-19 the options are different. Most Catholic Churches are offering online mass and tithing. All the sacraments are still being observed in that First Holy Communion lessons are online no different than school classrooms. No one’s soul is being neglected.

The CDC doesn’t know how much vaccine the USA has.

There was no record keeping.

The only alternative is going to be the delivery trucks. The trucking companies would have a “ Bill of Lading.” It would be the paperwork about the shipment. The government is going to have to ask the companies to submit a copy of the delivery receipts. At the very least the places that accepted deliveries of vaccine will be known. Then the recipients can provide a number of vaccines delivered.

It is second hand knowledge, but, it is at least an accounting. The recipients can also provide complaints for any aspect of the process so it can run more smoothly.

This lack of accounting should not be of any surprise. Trump never accounts for anything. He treated President Biden as a stranger in locking up the White House so he could not enter. The entire staff was sent home.

I am not surprised the entire government is starting fresh. I am sure scientific records are gone. Reconstructing that is going to be interesting.

American lives were never safe with Trump and this is more proof.

I think the only warehouses with vaccine are the manufacturing sites. I recall Pfizer asking about additional deliveries as they had vaccine in the warehouse. I doubt if any vaccines were stored in government facilities.

The CDC needs to establish a dedicated communication office to coordinate the manufacturers with delivery dates and recipients. Orders for vaccine can be compiled and provided dates of delivery to prevent duplication.

We are lucky there are only two USA companies to coordinate with at this point as more companies are coming online.

Accountability is vital to fast and efficient distribution.

“What’s going on in this Graph?...”

The graph (click here)spells profound differs in the access to timely healthcare between minorities and their Caucasian counterparts of the USA. Before I comment on the graph I have to remind that the South is impoverished. It does not value human health over profits.

The top part of the graph that tracks to the right are illnesses, often chronic, that have treatment already established including heart coronary bipass.

Heart disease, including hypertension; diabetes, cancer, stroke as related to hypertension and heart disease, kidney disease, septicemia, flu and pneumonia are all treatable and should not be causing minority deaths. Septicemia? Really?

The higher incidents in Caucasians are primarily disease without a cure. Liver disease, kidney disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and lung disease are all terminal illnesses without a cure. There is the potential to transplant with kidney and liver disease, but, there is no cure.

Interesting, is the fact neurological afflictions vex the white population more so than minorities.

The less medical and more social death rate is homicide which is higher in minorities because of segregation, economic deprivation and opportunities hence increasing crime.

The Caucasian social issues resulting in deaths are accidents, and suicide. The higher quality of life can result in both because of privilege that opens up danger in new experiences and loss of comfort and/or status.

That is all for tonight. That you for your interest.

Congratulations to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers today. Brady has proven himself as a great and somewhat infamous Quarterback. On to the Super Bowl.

I find the lack of information stunning in this article.

I don't think blaming the pandemic for youth suicide is the correct path to take although it is the most convenient. There are a lot of things at work in these dynamics and closing schools seems to me to be the least of the issues.

In a 2005 study of suicides among young people (click here) shows the likelihood is more strong in young men than women except in countries where woman are undervalued and there the statistics are higher. From the information in this New York Times article that demographic has held up in the USA. So, the idea the pandemic is driving more young men to commit suicide is probably not likely. What is probably at work here is negative self-talk and how they identify themselves.

The youngest is nine and that is where puberty begins with hormones raging. I think there is a deeper driver to this and as a society, we need to look at it and not simply blame the pandemic.

In the case of the older age bracket, there is the issue of social contact and DATING. There isn't much of that being discussed and the idea of a date on Friday night at the movies is an impossibility. Young people identify intensely when it comes to who they feel attracted to and sexual attractiveness. School is an incubator to those issues. Even if school attendance change to in-person, the social component is still missing for dating and person to person contact.

Young Americans are intent on successful lives when they approach adulthood. Some of these young people feel alienated from those goals. Academics online is like an out of body experience. I think as a society we need to erase the academic performance for the period this virus has caused altered learning patterns. Those years have to be looked at with skepticism when a young person is applying to college and work. There will be some students that find online learning better than in-class learning, but, that would be the case in or out of school. Some adapt better than others. In interviews, there is nothing wrong with students expressing their reality during these years such as, "My academics dropped a bit during the pandemic. I didn't do as well with online classes, but, I tried."

Where are college achievement exams being conducted? What is the indication there?

What I believe is driving this dynamic is the fact screen time is not limited. Children now have more access to social media to be with friends and that opens up greater opportunities for bullying. It also opens up different measures that children will use to bully. In other words, when a child has a school environment where bullying occurs it can be based on physical stature and sports activities. Online there are issues with character issues and physical appearance. When children are in school the online component is an element to the bullying but not the entire picture. Bullying is also mitigated by teachers and principals when in class attendance occurs, that supervision/mitigation isn't happening with stay-at-home students.

By Erica L. Green

Since schools shut their doors in March, an early-warning system that monitors students’ mental health episodes has sent more than 3,100 alerts to district officials, raising alarms about suicidal thoughts, possible self-harm or cries for care. By December, 18 students had taken their own lives.

The spate of student suicides in and around Las Vegas has pushed the Clark County district, the nation’s fifth largest, toward bringing students back as quickly as possible. This month, the school board gave the green light to phase in the return of some elementary school grades and groups of struggling students even as greater Las Vegas continues to post huge numbers of coronavirus cases and deaths....

The health statistics among children still favor staying at home. There are about 3.4 percent of all children up to the age of 18 that have contracted COVID-19. That means more than 96 percent of all school-age students are still safe. I think as a country we need to decide how best to protect the health of our children and THEN provide an education that helps maintain the status quo but might fall short of the usual outcomes.

As of January 14, about 2.5 million children have tested positive for COVID-19 (click here) since the onset of the pandemic. Over 211,000 new child COVID-19 cases were reported last week, the highest weekly increase since the pandemic began.

The age distribution of reported COVID-19 cases was provided on the health department websites of 49 states, New York City, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Children represented 12.6% of all cases in states reporting cases by age. A smaller subset of states reported on hospitalizations and mortality by age; the available data indicated that COVID-19-associated hospitalization and death is uncommon in children.

At this time, it appears that severe illness due to COVID-19 is rare among children. However, there is an urgent need to collect more data on longer-term impacts of the pandemic on children, including ways the virus may harm the long-term physical health of infected children, as well as its emotional and mental health effects....

I think parents, as well as children, need support groups to bring about their best outcomes in coping as a family in very unusual times.

Unemployment also plays into family tensions. Financial difficulties are not adequately handled either. There used to be such a thing called welfare for families in need and there was rental assistance as well.

September 2019

The number of children under age 18 in the United States (click here) increased from 47.3 million in 1950 to 74.1 million in 2010, before declining slightly to 73.7 million in 2012. Since 2012, the number of children has remained between 73.6 and 73.7 million, and is projected to increase to 74.1 million by 2020....

The overall biggest problem is the PROLONGED success of SARS-CoV-2 in our society. The USA's dynamic is alone globally. That is a clear sign the way this virus is handled in the USA is completely wrong.

Liberate!

Alexia Navalny

Yulia Navalny

Free the Russian people from oppressive        Putin regime!

Republicans are being ridiculous.

The Arizona Republicans have censured the spouse of the great John McCain, Cindy McCain, Former Senator Jeff Flake, and Governor Doug Ducey.

The Republicans are making fools of themselves and deliberately causing acrimony and sowing dissension.

Nothing is going to stop the defense of the USA Constitution.

The number of new COVID-19 cases continues to drop, both daily and the 7 day rolling average. The people are moving the right direction. Maybe, just maybe, Americans are all pulling in the same direction.
