Reliance on allies and not singularly arming to take on a global war is where every small country should be looking.

Washington — President Obama believes that Saudi Arabia, (click here) one of America’s most important allies in the Middle East, needs to learn how to “share” the region with its archenemy, Iran, and that both countries are guilty of fueling proxy wars in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

In a series of interviews with The Atlantic magazine published Thursday, Mr. Obama said a number of American allies in the Persian Gulf — as well as in Europe — were “free riders,” eager to drag the United States into grinding sectarian conflicts that sometimes had little to do with American interests. He showed little sympathy for the Saudis, who have been threatened by the nuclear deal Mr. Obama reached with Iran.

The Saudis, Mr. Obama told Jeffrey Goldberg, the magazine’s national correspondent, “need to find an effective way to share the neighborhood and institute some sort of cold peace.” Reflexively backing them against Iran, the president said, “would mean that we have to start coming in and using our military power to settle scores. And that would be in the interest neither of the United States nor of the Middle East.”...

There is not sincere hatred between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Saudi Arabia is holding the line on Iran's ambitions to change the crescent into  a single country. I think it has the right to hold that line.

The Iranian leadership should not meet Daesh with the identical ambitions of the Shia nation in The Crescent. Iran should seek STABILITY. It is stability and peace with it's neighbors that will bring about peace and ECONOMIC PROSPERITY.

Just because nuclear capacity is resigned by Iran does mean it has to be a monster otherwise in order to keep it's sovereignty. The opposite is true and it's alliance with Russia is important in realizing that stability and peace. It is no different than North Korea's alliance with China. Small countries cannot do this alone.

I think the new alliance of the middle east is incredible. It is good. It opens up dialogue and consolidates the interests of these countries. Regional ORGANIZATION in military and economic strength results in IMMEDIACY in ending tensions and violent opportunity by radical jihadist groups such as Daesh. Monitoring such groups within Islam will end their prowess on a long term basis. Saudi Arabia has been a very successful country in identifying radicals and bringing them to justice. Saudi Arabia has enjoyed a domestic peace unmatched in the region. The reason recent unrest exists is because of the change in the King and ATTEMPTS to bring civil war. I am sure the King expected it.

Riyadh : Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries (click here) could turn a page and build strong relations with Iran if it respects them and stops “meddling” in their affairs, Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said Wednesday.

“If Iran changes its way and its policies, nothing would prevent turning a page and building the best relationship based on good neighborliness, with no meddling in the affairs of others,” he told reporters in Riyadh.

“There is no need for mediation” in such a case, said Al-Jubeir. Riyadh severed all links with Tehran in January after crowds attacked the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions in Iran.

Al-Jubeir said relations with Tehran had deteriorated “due to the sectarian policies” followed by Iran and “its support for terrorism and implanting of terrorist cells in the countries of the region.”...
