Could immigration reform be more than an American humanitarian effort, but, an actual boom for our economy?

With such a great American movement to bring home our immigrants, how is it Republicans simply ignore the legacy of providing rewards for the most ambitious among us?

The Chamber was originally formed in 1905 by a few local businessmen, in order to attract the University Farm School (now known as UC Davis) to this agricultural community. The “town-gown” relationship has been a strong and vital one ever since....

I am in agreement with the US House in shutting down the government.

...The move in the House of Representatives (click here) is the latest indication that a revolt by conservative Republicans is complicating Congress' efforts to deal with looming fiscal deadlines over government funding and the federal debt limit.
The delay pushes Congress closer to the September 30 deadline for approving new government funding. With conservatives demanding a tougher stance on defunding and delaying President Barack Obama's signature healthcare legislation, known as "Obamacare," the chances of a shutdown appear greater.
The conflict is part of what is being called by some analysts a "civil war" within the Republican Party, energized in part by rallies and Tea Party gatherings during the August recess and the organizing efforts of the conservative Heritage Action, a sister to the conservative Heritage Foundation....
