May 22, 2006.

0702 gmt.

South Pole Satellite.

Not a great satellite picture. It doesn't matter, there is enough resolution to provide 'minor' intermingling of equatorial heat with the Antarctica vortex. However. There is not 'significant' heat transfer to say this winter will be warmer than past winters. The Peninsula for it's warming this week, still is cooler than anything in recent history.
