Bitcoin is not real. It is an electronic blip. It is an "exclusive club" currency.

There is no way Bitcoin will be an international currency. Everyone in the world does not have access. People cannot be excluded from a country's currency if they are to be part of an economy. Bitcoin is a gamble and toy. It will never be a serious investment and certainly won't ever rival sovereign currency.

Bitcoin's market cap could reach $1 trillion sometime in 2021 (click here) as investors take its reserve currency status more seriously, according to Garrick Hileman, head of research at Blockchain.com.

Major institutional players like Stanley Druckenmiller, BlackRock, Bill Miller, and Jack Dorsey have acknowledged that bitcoin is not only going away, but is becoming a reserve asset and validating the digital gold thesis, Hileman said.

Bitcoin has a current market cap of about $442 billion, while that of gold's stands at roughly $10 trillion. This week the cryptocurrency gained 12% over two days alone, and was trading at $22,994 on Saturday.

"My expectation is that bitcoin will become a trillion dollar asset as early as next year," the crypto researcher told Business Insider....

Tesla is real.

Tesla (click here) gained as much as 4% and hit all-time-highs on Friday ahead of its unprecedented inclusion into the S&P 500 index.

The electric vehicle manufacturer will be snapped up by index funds throughout the day on Friday as the S&P 500's inclusion of Tesla is made effective before the market open on Monday.

With a market value of nearly $650 billion as of Friday morning, Tesla will be the largest company ever added to the popular stock market index. The company will account for more than 1% of the index and will be the 6th largest company in it, ahead of Berkshire Hathaway and behind Facebook.

Tesla became eligible to be added into the index earlier this year after it posted its fourth straight quarter of profits, in part fueled by its sale of regulatory credits to other automakers who don't yet produce enough EV cars on an annual basis to hit government requirements....

It is a great team.

They are veterans of governance and obsessed with an American environment and climate to support quality of life. I am looking forward to their experience moving federal governance to it's best outcomes for the American people as soon as humanly possible.

I would also expect they would remove any federal employees that stand in the way of these vital priorities. There is no time for insubordination or sabotage. These cabinet members and department members need a movement of change to achieve goals as we move toward 2030.

What I also found important as stated by team members is the goal of being carbon neutral by 2050. It is a good goal.

All the changes have to be scrutinized for the impact that exists on the land and people. People live on the land. It is important there is no pollution that adversely effects people's health.

Project sponsor (click here) participation in FAST-41 is voluntarily.

...The group (click here) includes progressives like Representative Deb Haaland of New Mexico, Mr. Biden’s choice to lead the Department of the Interior and a co-sponsor of the Green New Deal, and establishment figures like Jennifer Granholm, the former governor of Michigan who Mr. Biden tapped to be Energy secretary. Michael Regan, North Carolina’s top environmental regulator, was named to lead the Environmental Protection Agency and Brenda Mallory, a longtime environmental attorney, will chair the Council on Environmental Quality. And last month Mr. Biden named former Secretary of State John Kerry as an international presidential envoy on climate change.

“Folks, we’re in a crisis,” Mr. Biden said on Saturday. “Just like we need to be a unified nation to respond to Covid-19, we need a unified national response to climate change.” Citing the costs and loss of life from wildfires that raged across the West this year, Mr. Biden vowed to restore the regulations that President Trump rolled back, and said, “We will set new ambitious standards that our workers are ready to meet today.”...

The reason all these changes occurred is because THE LAW does not OBLIGATE the EPA Secretary to take public comment seriously and it was just dismissed as customer complaints.

This doesn't do anything to the claims of the people of Flint if they oppose the settlement and the judge rejects it.

I haven't read the bill as to whether it negates claims without a judicial review, but, I don't think that would be part of it. It seems as though the state legislature has approved a loan program that allows Flint to start paying lawsuits whether a jury award or a settlement. It is a protection for the city as well.

The bill really needs to be read to understand the terms of the loan. It is probably a fair way to start to resolve the liability that is obviously the states'. I am sure the legislature doesn't see it that way, but, the former governor was directly responsible for the poisoning of the people of Flint and the state should carry the burden for any lawsuit against the city. Unfortunately, the city will probably be responsible for paying the loan back.

Flint - Bills to allow the state to borrow $600 million (click here) to settle civil lawsuits related to the Flint water crisis have passed the Michigan House, requiring only a signature from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to take effect.

The House voted 103-5 and 104-4 to pass the bills on Wednesday, Dec. 16, one week after the legislation passed the state Senate.

The bills would establish the Flint Settlement Trust Fund and allow borrowing for the settlement by the Michigan Strategic Fund....

Let’s get something straight about the Russian invasion into the USA,

Microsoft, no different than any other American company, is not the issue. Every American company should be safe from a foreign country’s malicious intent.

Our military should be safe from such international crimes, but, right now they are not. The problem here is about the open relationship Trump has with Russia which is malicious against the safety and security of the American people. I fully expect this is a profound attempt by Russia to secure Trump’s election.

That said, the security of this country by Homeland Security failed. It completely failed Microsoft. Homeland security is supposed to issue breaches in cyber space. Homeland Security is supposed to report such breaches and attacks daily to the country. It didn’t do that.

Microsoft, as a security company, has been battling cyber attacks since there was a Microsoft. Microsoft knows its clients and prepared software to undermine vicious attacks on their consumers. Microsoft does not have the assets and capacity of any sovereign country.

The USA government and military is supposed to have all the cutting edge and high security methods to protect the country. Homeland Security cannot expect any company to do what it can do. Homeland Security is supposed to LEAD. That did not happen.

I don’t care the reasons Homeland Security was not leading so much as the fact that it wasn’t. The US is supposed to protect its secrets. It can’t do that if nothing but private companies with contracts are solely responsible for the country’s national cyber security which then compromises national security.

Understand this. The Russians are still looking for 30,000 Clinton emails that was wiped from the server of a Secretary of State.

So while they are looking for those emails why not go as far as they can to exploit information from anyone or any company in the USA. Why not write emails and plant them supposedly on secure sites?

Homeland Security failed. It failed to protect the country. Microsoft was a target in which it never got any help from the agency that is supposed to be state of the art in cyber security.

Microsoft will not be scapegoated for a failed and quite possibly disarmed government.

Why is Edward Snowden, a whistleblower, still in Russia?

The states Attorney General need to begin legal actions against the White House.

The problem with the distribution of the Pfizer vaccine is a distraction from the Russian invasion into the USA cyberspace.

Then Jared Kushner could have determined the vaccine in storage is theirs.

Why is Pfizer talking to the federal government? The Governors are MORE CAPABLE to provide CONTINUITY of distribution, especially when it comes to the second dose. If the Governors don't have access to the distribution of the first dose, how can they provide continuity to the second dose?

The Trump administration made it clear how they see the treatment of COVID-19; they want everyone infected. What do they care if the vaccines have continuity to the people of this country?

A court decision has to be expedited and Pfizer and Moderna need to be in the courtroom AS WELL AS THE STATES' SECRETARIES OF HHS (For some reason the Governors believe they can move forward because they are the chief executive. The state's HHS Secretary should be a co-signator to any court proceedings regarding SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19. The states' Secretary of HHS is where the power lies.) When the judges decide this all the parties must be involved to make certain that CONTINUITY of dose distribution is a high priority.

This is the third outrage of the week. First, we find out there was absolutely no oversight to SARS-CoV-2 by Congress or the White House, then the Russians are rampaging through the cyberspace of the country, and now the national security of the USA is again assaulted in TAMPERING WITH VACCINE DISTRIBUTION. Who is trying to kill Americans, because, it sure sounds like someone is?

The court actions with the companies present should not be punitive, however, state fines for the high level of negligence by the PEOPLE directly involved in these decisions of distribution should be levied. If that requires a second filing then make it a second filing and fine the USA federal government OFFICIALS in the line of decision making according to the state's standards.

Fines of individuals will work today and in the future. Why? Because they love money more than human life.

Officials in multiple states (click here) said they were alerted late Wednesday that their second shipments of Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine had been drastically cut for next week, sparking widespread confusion and conflicting statements from Pfizer and federal officials about who was at fault.

The reduction prompted concern in health departments across the country about whether Operation Warp Speed, the Trump administration’s vaccine accelerator program, could distribute doses quickly enough to meet the target of delivering first shots to 20 million people by year’s end.

A senior administration official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal plans, said the revised estimates were the result of states’ requesting an expedited timeline for locking in their allocations for the following week; notification of how many doses they could order each week was consequently advanced from Friday to Tuesday. Since Pfizer is producing doses daily, the official said, fewer doses were available Tuesday than will be available on Friday....

I think this addition to the President's Cabinet is long over due.

I am thrilled by this nomination. I am certain she will do a magnificent job. I fully expect the new Secretary Deb Haaland to review the misuse of public lands and the rights of future generations to those lands.

I fully expect her to review tribal treaties and make them stronger in recognizing the health and well being of the Native American people. All too often Native Americans are viewed as autonomous in their decision-making and their lives. They are a sovereign nation within the USA and due to that fact, their ability to care for their people is hampered by boundaries and assets. They can protect the land they love while they are also expecting the same treatment of human rights from the USA federal government.

“A voice like mine has never been a Cabinet secretary (click here) or at the head of the Department of Interior. I’m incredibly honored to accept President-elect Joe Biden’s nomination for Secretary of the Interior. As our country faces the impacts of climate change and environmental injustice, the Interior has a role and I will be a partner in addressing these challenges by protecting our public lands and moving our country towards a clean energy future.

“It’s profound to think about the history of this country’s policies to exterminate Native Americans and the resilience of our ancestors that gave me a place here today. This historic moment will not go by without the acknowledgment of the many people who have believed in me over the years and have had the confidence in me for this position. I’m forever grateful and will do everything I can to be fierce for all of us, our planet, and all of our protected land. I am honored and ready to serve."

Put the government OFFLINE!

AI is here and if anyone believes Russia and China and who knows who else doesn't have it is a fool. Apple still manufactures it's iPhone in China. Does anyone actually think Apples' use of AI is a mystery to the Chinese government?

The USA military has operated offline for a long time before some expensive defense contracts were signed. National security is at risk. The military needs to return to a safe military standard and take everything OFF THE WEB to begin. Closed systems without accessing the world wide web can be maintained until they are proven to be unsafe as well.

The horse has left the barn. There is no recapturing that level of security. It was nice while it lasted, but, the day of cybersecurity in the USA military is over and it needs to secure the country without all the bells and whistles.

Elon Musk said some time ago there needs to be governance over AI. When is that going to happen? Where is the United Nations Treaty the USA is so eager to sign? Then there is the problem of enforcing such a treaty and the consequences when it is violated.

Stop investing in a USA military that is more vulnerable rather than less. End the contracts, they have failed the USA military, hence, the American people. No more money and the American people deserve a refund. Undelivered goods are undelivered goods.

The cyber-world is untrustworthy. There is no real security for the F-35. There just isn't. If each jet could operate as a self-contained system for the pilot that would be something that is trustworthy. But, I have had a computer unplugged and attacked through microwaves because of an online assessment I wrote. They tried to excite it enough to make their way into the permanent hard drive. But, it didn't work after five tries. I know what they can do.

Washington - Over the past few years, (click here) the United States government has spent tens of billions of dollars on cyberoffensive abilities, building a giant war room at Fort Meade, Md., for United States Cyber Command, while installing defensive sensors all around the country — a system named Einstein to give it an air of genius — to deter the nation’s enemies from picking its networks clean, again.

It now is clear that the broad Russian espionage attack on the United States government and private companies, underway since spring and detected by the private sector only a few weeks ago, ranks among the greatest intelligence failures of modern times.

Einstein missed it — because the Russian hackers brilliantly designed their attack to avoid setting it off. The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security were looking elsewhere, understandably focused on protecting the 2020 election....

Americans are a great people.

Jack Arends is not alone in his view of the 2020 presidential elections. Trump would like to think he was blameless for an administration that treated people as chattels that were disposable. Americans were objectified by Trump. He believed they were weak in character and maliible to any despotic directions. He was wrong about everything, but, mostly about the will of the American people.

More poison for the American people. Poison seems to be a favorite scheme of the Republicans.

Ah, go ahead, just poison them with the virus. It is good for the economy.

There were no brakes. Where were the elected officials in Congress that were putting on the brakes to this disaster? Who drank the Kool-Aide? Everyone responsible for this heinous act will be held responsible.

Anthony Fauci is screaming "be careful" there will be another wave in the autumn with the onset of the flu and NO ONE IN CONGRESS PUT ON THE BRAKES! Who were the Governors that drank the Kool-Aid, too?

This wasn't just a despot in the White House ranting and raving to his base, this was an entire movement within the government to allow Americans to die to prevent economic loss. An entire party in this country is responsible for the illnesses and deaths of Americans. It doesn't end with Alexander. No wonder Florida SBI is raiding Whistleblowers.

The Mayors of this country are frantic about protecting the kids. At least someone was. Local government is far more trustworthy than any other form of government. The Local governments ARE THE PEOPLE and not the infiltration of Wall Street into decision-makers.

There aren't enough empty cells yet in prison for all those involved. There needs to be an inventory of the places still with open prison cells. Better yet open another exclusive private prison for the people that will find their lives interrupted for the heinous nature of their crimes.

Just like adults, (click here) an underlying health condition can leave young people more vulnerable to a severe case of COVID-19, according to a CDC report looking into 121 fatal coronavirus cases in people below the age of 21. Racial disparities were found as well, with two-thirds of the cases among Black and Hispanic youth.

AP: Coronavirus Deaths In Kids Echoes Toll In Adults, CDC SaysA detailed look at COVID-19 deaths in U.S. kids and young adults released Tuesday shows they mirror patterns seen in older patients. The report examined 121 deaths of those younger than 21, as of the end of July. Like older adults, many of them had one or more medical condition — like lung problems, including asthma, obesity, heart problems or developmental conditions. Deaths were also more common among those in certain racial and ethnic groups, according to the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC found 54 were Hispanic, 35 were Black, and 17 were white, even though overall there are far more white Americans than Black and Hispanic. (Stobbe, 9/16)

CNBC: The Coronavirus Has Killed At Least 121 Young People In The U.S., Mostly Minorities, CDC SaysThe study comes days after reports surfaced alleging that Trump administration officials were interfering with the CDC’s process for publishing such studies. The researchers, which include a number of CDC personnel and officials from nearly 30 state health departments, said the study underscores the risk Covid-19 presents to young people, even though young people typically don’t become as sick as older coronavirus patients. They added that the data should be continually monitored as schools and child-care centers reopen. (Feuer, 9/15)...

Before McConnell congratulated the President and Vice President elect, a moral voice came out of the US Senate.

Quite frankly the states, including a strongly purple Texas, that voted for Trump was never challenged. The attempts by the extremist political right to overthrow the election is an assault against the USA Constitution. There is no loyalty to the US Constitution by those Americans while they wave the flag and call themselves "Tea Party..." of one vernacular or another. They are a disgrace to the USA. They confuse people, both domestic and abroad as if the USA elections are simply irrelevant.

These issues need to be confronted and eliminated from the process in placing the federal government. We need free and certain elections. It is time to eliminate these ridiculous pageants from politics and end the Electoral College. The popular vote is secure and accurate, the Electoral College has lost it's capacity to be of value to our democracy. The Electoral College, as demonstrated by Donald John Trump, has become a danger to freedom and liberty. The Electoral College has the capacity to be manipulated. In all honesty, the Electoral College is a national security issue.

The 2020 election results saved the democracy of which the entire world has optimized as a perfect form of governance. That value of the USA in the world was toyed with and defamed by the current president. We can't allow that loophole in the USA Constitution to continue to exist. The current push by the Republican extremists to overthrow the government by completely eliminating the vote of 2020 cannot be ignored as a political opportunity to maintain their base and pundits. They are dangerous and if they can they will overthrow the government as we declare a victory over tyranny that has resided in the White House for four years.

The Electoral College is outdated and dangerous. It is time to end it. Americans need to remember who actually supports the USA Treasury and accepts the national debt as an investment in the future. Our taxes mean something. They mean something to Americans, their children, the future, and the idea there is a steadfast democracy that has lasted beyond 200 years. Those taxes were invested this year to ensure the country's democracy was safe. The idea an entire country's vote can be overturned by a few radical members of congress cannot be put aside as an oddity in the year 2020. The mechanisms of democracy are being harnessed as a means to maintain power. All that has to end and the people provided the power to maintain their democracy. It is time to declare the vote of the population of the USA as the only mechanism that secures the country.

If the amendment process to eliminate the Electoral College begins now, it can become constitutional law by 2024.

Utah Sen. Mitt Romney (click here) bashed President Donald Trump again on national TV on Monday evening for continuing to falsely claim the election was stolen from him — and drew on his own experience of losing a presidential election to drive home the point.

“The biggest concern that I have is that people here genuinely believe that somehow this election was stolen, and there’s not evidence of that. The president was saying it was stolen even before Election Day happened. He said if he loses, it would be fraud. Well, no one knows that,” Romney told Shepard Smith in a live CNBC interview.

“I thought I was going to win too when I ran for president in 2012. I didn’t. I didn’t go out and say ‘fraud.’ We have a process. We count the votes. That’s the way it is,” the Utah senator said....

There is an interest by employers to require a COVID-19 vaccine for employment. Considering the deaths at places like meat packing plants, it should be a federal mandate.

The idea may have started with Ford Motor Company who was very early in setting up their own vaccine policy and effort.

Postpone the Inaugural Ball for a year or until a majority of Americans are vaccinated. Moderna is coming online and that will improve the vaccination rate.

Really, Joe? No. This doesn't happen anymore.

Vladimir Putin put the USA through hell over the past four years costing us the real president of 2016, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Vladimir Putin needs to be put on "The Most Wanted List" in every free world country. I mean every word. At one time I thought he was going to lead Russia into a new reality whereby the quality of life of every Russian would be unmatched from previous presidents and czars ever to rule Russia. He didn't do that. He invaded Ukraine and retreated to being the ultimate leader of the KGB and plotted against the USA.

There is no way Vladimir Putin will ever be a remote friend of the USA. He is completely untrustworthy. Next time he calls Joe, hang up, and run missile drills.

Just hours (click here) after the Electoral College elected Joe Biden as the next president, formalizing the former Democratic vice president's win in the Nov. 3 election, Russia's leader Vladimir Putin on Tuesday finally acknowledged Biden's victory, saying he "wished the president-elect every success" and was "ready for interaction and contact."

The Kremlin, which has decried what it's called Biden’s "sharp anti-Russian rhetoric" but praised the president-elect's comments on arms control, previously said it preferred to wait until the election results were official before congratulating a winner.

Putin was one of the last world leaders who had not acknowledged Biden's victory. President Donald Trump is still refusing to concede the election. Many Republican lawmakers have followed Trump's lead and not publicly endorsed Biden's victory....

The American people decided they didn't want a despot as president of the country.

Donald John Trump is a despot. Everything about him defines him as a despot. If he were benevolent in any way he would not be a despot. It is over. Well, except of course, for his yet to take place attempt at a military coup.

The election of 2020 clearly indicated the majority of Americans do not like having a despot as president. End of discussion.

Hint: Dismissing everyone that he sees as weak is the actions of a despot. It is the USA so they aren't hanged at high noon. But, this is just the next lackey to be discharged for being less than perfect in serving Despot Trump.

Too many cracks and crevasse that only gas can reach. It is an old building.

Neck protection

I believe it was 2 days ago when the Proud Boys engaged in violence with knives and injured people. On the subject of bullet proof vests, Kevlar is effective in knife attacks. The vest will be ruined but Kevlar will capture a knife in the weave and protect the wearer.

In any instance wearing a vest for protection the wearer must also wear a neck collar for obvious potential of injury or death.

...Through the first part of 2020, (click here) the impact of the Atlantic hurricane season was minor, with less than $1 billion in total reported damage through July 27. However, later storms, beginning with Hurricane Isaias, were more damaging, with current assessments coming in close to $6 billion and Hurricane Laura at $10-12 billion. Damage from Sally was estimated to total $8-10 billion. CoreLogic, an analytics business, reports that damage from Zeta could reach $3.5 billion, the majority ($1.7 billion to $2.8 billion) in Louisiana alone. CoreLogic estimates that insured losses from Hurricane Delta damage will range from $700 million to $1.2 billion for wind and storm surge and an additional $800 million to $1.5 billion for offshore structures. A full economic analysis from Hurricane Eta is not yet available but the total will be upwards of $5.5 billion, with the majority (over $5 billion) occurring in Honduras. At the end of the season, Iota’s damage estimates had reached $564 million and the total aggregated damages for the whole season are expected to exceed $41 billion.

Sadly, over 400 people have lost their lives so far in the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season. FEMA has issued several Emergency Declarations and Major Disaster Declarations. An emergency declaration allows a local or state government to use resources to respond but does not implicate any federal spending. A major disaster declaration provides for individual and/or public assistance spending from the federal government with a cost-share obligation from the states/territories....

...But others, (click here) like Nobel laureate and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, make strong arguments that bold investments in infrastructure right now make perfect sense even in free-market economic terms. With interest rates low and private sector unemployment high, the market is signaling there are more than enough investor funds and skilled labor to supply the needed capital and workforce. These investments would boost employment while also making the U.S. energy supply less expensive, more efficient, and cleaner, which could help reduce other non-climate related social problems such as air and water pollution, poverty, and crime.

A growing body of economics research documents the tremendous cost savings associated with implementing climate solutions. But it’s critical to recognize that many climate impacts simply cannot be quantified in economic terms: It’s impossible, for instance, to place a dollar value on human suffering as a result of homes lost to floods or fires, or climate-caused famine, or the value lost in species extinctions and declining biodiversity. Yet these must also be taken into account when evaluating the relative costs of climate action and inaction. As renowned Ohio State University glaciologist Lonnie Thompson put it, “the longer we delay [climate solutions], the more unpleasant the adaptations and the greater the suffering will be.”...
