Trump is lying about Michigan.

There are schools open in some of the cities. If the population of the infections is low the cities are allowed to open and that includes schools.

Kindly remember Detroit was the scene where a Chinese scientist was picked up by the Border Patrol carrying very dangerous vials of SARS and MERS. Governor Whitmer has had significant worries that other states did not.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (click here) agents at Detroit Metro Airport stopped a Chinese scientist carrying vials believed to contain the MERS and SARS viruses in November 2018 — just over a year before the first reported Wuhan coronavirus case, according to an FBI tactical intelligence report obtained by Yahoo News....

Statewide Available PPE and Bed Tracking (click here)

The idea of "opening up the state" revolves around bed availability. ICU beds in most regions pf Michigan are tight. There are enough ventilators, but, the beds are running about 25 percent across the state. So the number of beds ready for patients is still low. I don't consider 25 percent when it means 20 to 30 beds a great number to allow an entire state to open it's economy.

The number of beds dictates the number of people allowed to congregate at a time. When a governor states there can be a group of 10 people allowed to meet that means if one person of the ten is a COVID-19 carrier (silent or otherwise) then those ten people will have a bed when they come down with the virus because they were infected when their group met.

the matter of available is much bigger than that because one person infecting nine others at a get together doesn't end there. Those ten people will carry their new infection back home and infect those that were healthy before the meeting. So, it is risky to a governor state there can be 10 people at a time in a group. The danger of the infection is not limited to 10 people because there are going to be multiple groups throughout the region. So, when people meet and become infected those open beds are occupied quickly.

Opening up an economy in the cities is a risky business. It is why people must wear masks, social distance, and practice hand hygiene. There are life-saving measures AND they also keep beds open for those that are not as careful as they should be.

When beds become occupied the demand for PPE goes up. 21+ days of PPE is a good lead-in for any hospital, but, with increasing numbers of COVID-19 escalating that turn from a comfort zone into a worry.

According to the PPE report today, some hospitals are operating on low supplies with gloves being from zero days stocked to perhaps 6 days supply. That is not at all sufficient to handle an increase in disease that is occurring now.

Trump, WHERE IS THE PPE NEEDED IN MICHIGAN?
