More aggressive actions against Iran is wrong. Very wrong.

"Morning Papers"

The Rooster

"Okeydoke"

Changing the subject from the weekends topic of sexual assault (click here) works well for Donald J. Trump. The fact of the matter is the escalation of tensions with Iran is the worst idea that ever existed.

The USA has satellite intelligence, we don't need drones, especially expansive sophisticated drones that when captured provide information to Iran it should not have. With a drone, even in pieces in their possession, I would not be surprised if the cyber attack didn't work. They have USA technology now.

There are inspectors that come and go with Iran that has the intelligence to provide the United Nations' Security Council. Everyone involved with Iran is receiving the information at the same time. The USA is no different.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe needs to continue to mediate with Iran and the USA to come to a peaceful understanding of the way forward. Adding more sanctions is not going to end the tensions between the USA and Iran. I am quite sure Iran believes they have been betrayed by the USA. That is not good. There needs to be a clear understanding of their will be improved relations going forward.

I have a complaint about FOX News. They are inflaming the relationship between Iran and the USA and is partly if not completely responsible for escalating tensions as they feed fear and hate to the Trump Base. That is unlawful and creates problems. THERE WILL BE NO OBLITERATION OF ANYONE ON EARTH. NO ONE. For a news agency to promote words of hatred and death is irresponsible and an abuse of their power as a media organization.

Trump did not immediately provide details of the sanctions, (click here) which he said he hopes will bring Iran back to the bargaining table.

“We do not seek conflict with Iran or any other country,” Trump said. “I can only tell you we cannot ever let Iran have a nuclear weapon."

Pompeo was meeting with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss "ways to counter the malign Iranian influence in the region," the State Department said in a statement.

Pompeo also will next visit Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in a bid to consolidate allies in the region en route to strengthening a global coalition against what the U.S. sees as Iranian aggression.

The sanctions ordered by Trump are in response to Iran shooting down a U.S. drone last week. The U.S. claims the $100 million, unmanned aircraft was flying over international waters while Iran says the drone was over its territory.

On Monday, a defiant Iranian admiral said his military stands ready to shoot down more drones...

Iran is not our only concern. As of the latest visit with the president of Poland, the USA is making plans to put 1000 troops in Poland.

Poland - A U.S. agreement with Poland (click here) to send 1,000 extra troops to the country is a defensive measure needed for its security, the U.S. ambassador to Warsaw said on Monday, replying to accusations from neighboring Russia that the move is aggressive....

Russia has not lived up to any of it's agreements, including any Minsk agreement. NATO has a right to be prepared for more aggressive moves by Russia. Earlier this year the USS Ross arrived in the Black Sea and Russia started screaming there was an escalation to war. Russia is always screaming brinkmanship.

NATO has a right to exist and to assert sovereign security. It is President Putin who is impulsive, irresponsible and unpredictable when it comes to a global balance of power.

The guided-missile destroyer Ross (click here) arrived in the Bulgarian port of Varna this week for another round of military exercises in the Black Sea.

Maneuvers alongside the Bulgarian navy were slated to begin Wednesday and are designed to “strengthen interoperability with NATO allies and partners and demonstrate the collective resolve to Black Sea security," according to a prepared statement released by the U.S. 6th Fleet.

Based in Rota, Spain, the Ross is the fourth U.S. warship to visit the Black Sea since Jan.1 and this bilateral exercise comes amid simmering tensions with Russia across the region.

In 2014, Moscow annexed Kiev’s Crimean Peninsula, sparking an ongoing civil war in Ukraine’s eastern provinces.

In November, Russian forces seized three Ukrainian vessels and their crews in the Kerch Strait, escalating the conflict....
