The outer bands made landfall outs ago along the entire Gulf Coast from Texas to Florida.

The outer bands is where the heavy rains are.

Are you for real? The drainage pumps are working? That enormous project that is supposed to protect the people of Louisiana aren't working? 

The Governor needs to consider sending the National Guard now. There needs to be rescue beginning now.

As Hurricane Harvey (click here) looms in the Gulf of Mexico, threatening dangerously heavy rainfall from Texas to Louisiana, officials in New Orleans are "working around the clock" to repair drainage pumps and turbines that were inoperable during a flooding event earlier this month.

During a press conference Thursday, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu reassured residents that the city was keeping a watchful eye on the intensifying storm and working to prepare for the possibility of heavy rain from Harvey.
