All Federal Employees and otherwise effected by the government shutdown need to apply for unemployment today. It will begin the "Waiting Week." They should not postpone it and can even prove to be a time to examine their current employment and possible employment elsewhere. It used to be a government job was attractive because it was rock solid and stable income and benefits; it would seem as though that is not the case anymore.
