The flood Noah experienced has nothing to do with a warming planet. It was a tsunami.

The Mediterranean Sea is known to have a closed system of tides that on occasion results in deadly tsunamis. As a matter of fact the CLOSED basin of the Mediterranean Sea has 10.1 percent of all global tsunamis. I thought most biblical scholars knew that. The miracle of Noah was not the flood, but, the fact he was able to determine one would occur he had to prepare for. Those seeking justification of their wrong headed thinking about the Climate Crisis focus on the level of the water, not the miracle of intervention by God.

The closed basin of the Mediterranean Sea would provides a sloshing of water from one end to the other without an outlet. The Straits of Gibralter is too small to accommodate a raging sea. With every slosh the waves rebounding would carry a greater dynamic to the opposite shoreline.

It was a tsunami Noah prepared to survive. The real question is not that he prepared, but, instead 'How did he know?'

The other body of water that would have contributed to flooding in the Holy Land is a seismic event in the Black Sea which could have caused massive flooding across Turkey into the Mediterranean Sea. The Black Sea is known to have produced tsunamis with seismic activity.

Republican Congressman Joe Barton cited the biblical "Great Flood" as an example of climate change.

Barton is sponsored by Right Wing Religious Zealots. He is entertaining his funding when he dives into this nonsense. That funding is why Texas is so bizarre in their attitudes about so much of our society. There are extremists that have had their way with language, culture and political power for far too long without a 'counter' measure to temper their zealotry. It is really time to liberate Texans. The Civil War has been over a while now and Sam Houston is dead. But, Barton's ranting is about money, not god.
