This Country Beats France

Michael Moore paid tribute to Norway. He is correct. The higher quality of life a country has the more benevolent the society becomes simply because the monies for war are spent no more.

Until this heinous act Norway was at peace within its own borders. A monster acted out of hate for all the wrong reasons, although his peers might way otherwise. But, his acts were inspired by another monster the USA 'grew at home,' namely Timothy McVeigh. McVeigh had his reason, too.

This short film by Moore outlines some of the incredible dedications by Norway to find benign energy, nationalize their oil fields and the best management of its treasury for generations. There is no way this single act by a monster should judge the people of this country. Norway cannot protect itself from more monsters inspired by the heinous acts of one of their own. At the very least, Neo-Nazis have to be added to lists of individuals viewed as dangerous and suspicious for acts of violence if found to be entering Norway. There should be cooperation internally to achieve a goal to protect Norway.

The Norwegian Prison System is based in rehabilitation, not the supposed effect of prevention by a death sentence.  The rehabilitation is the focus, not the punishment.   By USA Standards it seems all very counter-intuitive, but, that simply reminds me of how sincerely profoundly powerful 'political self speak' actually is.  It is why criminality in the media has to be addressed, prosecuted and monitored.  The messages are powerful and can be the undertone of a country.
