Charles “Chas” Freeman. Too many conflicts of interest. He is NOT appropriate for the position. Who brought him forward anyway?

"The Washington Post" hasn't got the focus entirely correct, but, they bravely went where no one else did and I applaud them for it. They are correct that Charles Freeman is not the man for the job, but, there are a lot of issues with 'conflict of interest' as well as being far too much the passivist to be worthwhile in any area of USA Intelligence.

"Danger Will Robinson, Danger"

Without belaying the facts and overtures, there is a simple premise that over shadows any placement of Freeman into the delicate position of National Intelligence. He simply has too many interests in too many places. President Obama needs to redraw the line of what qualifies someone that is loyal to the USA 'without' conflicting interests in sensitive places. Mr. Freeman knows a lot and his insight would be instantaneous, however, it is tainted by 'philosophy' and 'passivism.' Freeman has a documented history of passivism and while that can be an asset 'when known and in perspective / on balance' on the diplomatic and 'business' front (especially business) it is a huge deficit to a complete picture to the security of our nation and that of our allies.

Mr. Freeman 'leans' far too much into 'business/profit oriented' dynamics and would definately have diminished urgency to areas that could lead to unexpected conflict, human rights abuse and valuing money over effective policy. Not a good idea. Not in the world 2009.

Most of President Obama's "missteps" to date have been Washington peccadilloes of the "let's find something to complain about" sort. But Obama has made one major mistake that has attracted little public attention:...

..."I do not believe it is acceptable for any country to allow the heart of its national capital to be occupied by dissidents intent on disrupting the normal functions of government, however appealing to foreigners their propaganda may be. Such folk, whether they represent a veterans' 'Bonus Army' or a 'student uprising' on behalf of 'the goddess of democracy' should expect to be displaced with despatch [sic] from the ground they occupy."...

I really want to know what prompted this nomination. I really want to know. He is 'positioned' to disenfranchise any issue with China and/or Iran. He is the "W"rong man for the job. Mr. Freeman is smart enough, however, he does not and cannot carry out 'objective' analysis. Whatever happened to old CIA agents like Johnson or better yet, Wilson or Plame for some of these positions?
