Republicans are all about image, they have no substantive qualities. They chase the only vote guaranteed to them and that is the Republican Right Wing. The people who believe they should rule the world and bring it under the Kingdom of God according to Jesus Christ. To achieve that goal they give permission to every corrupt venue of ascendance to power in government. The only aspect of the USA power structure the Right Wing Republican is interested is the military. It takes lots of money to produce weapons for God and a draft to supply personnel to carry out 'the final solution.'
It's unconcionable for a 'serious' candidate for the Executive Branch of the USA to say something as stupid and inflammatory as that.
