Six U.S. troops among dead from Iraq's weekend violence

THE NEWS both domestic and abroad isn't good for the USA. Floods are replacing frozen bodies of water and the war dead increase.

On the upside, the AWOL numbers have increased this year although first estimated by the US Military to be lower. Those walking away from their posts in the USA military has increased with ever lingering year of this illegal war.


Army Lacks Accurate Count on Deserters

Morning Edition, March 19, 2007 · The Army can't provide a specific number of deserters. At least 3,000 soldiers have left the ranks in the last year. Critics say that without an accurate count, the Army has an incomplete picture of military readiness.

BAGHDAD — Sunni insurgents killed at least six U.S. troops over the weekend. A Sunni car bomber hit a largely Shiite district in the capital Sunday, killing at least eight people.
The American military said four U.S. soldiers died and one was wounded when the unit was struck by a roadside bomb in western Baghdad.
