December 16, 2005.

Quaker Gap, North Carolina.

These are single blades of grass wrapped in ice. This is not a normal snow storm This was rain that suddenly was hit with subzero temperature. The water became frozen around the blades of grass because it was so intensely frigid in an abrupt way. This was a glacial wind that moved into a rain storm off the equator.
