This is Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT)

The beautiful part of VAWT is that is can be used SINGLY by anyone. The turbine can be any size. It doesn't take a wind farm to produce electricity. It can be set at heights of twelve feet depending on the wind patterns. These can be set up at docks where the wind is reliable and supply electricity to boats.

There are a million and one places for this form of wind turbine and it doesn't have to cause bird deaths. It can be placed in heights and locations that do not interfere with migration routes. It is completely resistant to snow and icing.

The USA's wind turbine industry in Michigan should investigate the potential of market share and manufacture them domestically.

Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT)(click here) are a type of wind turbine where the main rotor shaft is set vertically and the main components are located at the base of the turbine. They have their main rotor shaft arranged vertically. The main advantage of this arrangement is that the wind turbine does not need to be pointed into the wind. This is an advantage on sites where the wind direction is highly variable or has turbulent winds.

Employing Darrieus wind turbine, Giromill, Savonius wind turbine & Twisted Savonius vertical axis sub-techniques yields power generation with good efficiency.

These types of installations can be packed closer together in wind farms, allowing more entities in a given space. They require less wind, thus allowing them to be closer to the ground. They can be easily maintained with less operating costs....
