I think it has something to do with landing on the moon. Somehow humans got the idea they could do anything without problems if done well enough. It reminds me of the foolishness of establishing nuclear plants with simultaneous hydraulic fracturing causing seismic activity. Humans think they can do anything to perfection without problems.
