During the moon's quarter phases the sun and moon work at right angles, causing the bulges to cancel each other. The result is a smaller difference between high and low tides and is known as a neap tide. Neap tides are especially weak tides. They occur when the gravitational forces of the Moon and the Sun are perpendicular to one another (with respect to the Earth). Neap tides occur during quarter moons.

The Republicans like to assign the sun activity as the reason for the Climate Crisis. I thought I'd clarify the tide on Earth is not the reason for the flooding. It is the

Thousands without power as squall intensifies

Escambia and Santa Rosa counties are assessing damage today even as heavy rains keep adding to the severe flooding this weekend.

Damage is already estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars.

Escambia officials expect damages to cost more than $20 million. In Santa Rosa, officials estimated that the Midway area alone saw more than $1.5 million in damage to dozens of homes.

The extensive storm system that stalled over Escambia and Santa Rosa counties Saturday dumped up to 13.11 inches of rain by nightfall, the second-highest single-day total ever recorded in Pensacola....
