The Incredible Dynamics of "Wilma" (Click on Title. Thank you.)

October 19, 2005.

Okay everyone, I heard the news conference from Florida by Jeb Bush encouraging the public to mobilize to safety.

He's right.

I don't want to hear how anyone is trying to figure this out for themselves.

The supercomputers from The Weather Service have prediction models. All of us paid a whole lot of money for those computers and they and the people at the National Weather Service are working for everyone.

These storms are 'eddies' off vortices and is why they are very powerful. Anyone can see that. That does not make them more predictable or safer than any other storm we have ever witnessed. These storms are more powerful than one can begin to imagine and although we can take pictures of aftermath and feel safe to rebuild or support those that are rebuilding that doesn't make us super people who can live through anything.

My experience with these monster storms is that 24 hours before landfall is not really enough time to safely get to where you need to be safe. The film 'loop' of the title of this picture clearly demonstrates how rapidly 'Wilma' became a very dangerous storm.

Don't mess with this.

We all have eyes and we can all watch and decide about the effectiveness of computer models but we need to listen to authority that we all pay for and rely on. LEAVE as instructed and don't come back until FOR SURE we are all safe !!
