Convalescent plasma

I haven’t read all that I should on the topic but I do want to say I do not consider it to be dangerous. Plasma has many uses and in a hospital setting it is needed. There are liver ailments that are treated with FFP (Fresh Frozen Plasma) so the donations will never go to waste for those testing for the SARS-CoV-2 antibody.

There are no adverse effects in this therapy only perhaps in very rare cases.

I think the trial of convalescent plasma is going to have mixed results because everyone has different comorbidities in relation to contracting the virus.

I didn’t believe hydroxychloroquine was safe because of all the side effects and known deaths. Convalescent plasma is not the same as hydroxychloroquine. Not even close.

I see no harm in the use of Convalescent Plasma. I think the clinical trials need to continue even though there is no robust response. I do not expect side effects which the doctors would report.

There needs to be clear indications there is no benefit. No therapy of any kind should be administered if it has no therapeutic effect. To my understanding that complete lack of benefit hasn’t been proven yet.
