James Comey would have been perfect for the job. I know, maybe Trump can call up Brian Benczkowski, the Russian Alpha Bank guy. The Senate seems to like him and Russia does as well. I am certain he has already taken the Trump Loyalty Pledge.

Sue Gordon headed off the sexual assault charges that would destroy her career. Look, the women assaulted by Trump have nearly been forgotten (click here) . It can't be a very good feeling to be the Director of National Intelligence knowing the guy in the Oval Office is a real smuck.

Trump is unpredictable. He has different allies than the Director of National Intelligence. The job is nearly impossible. It is amazing Dan Coates was able to carry out the job this long. He is amazing and he will definitely be missed.
