Please pay attention to VOLUNTARY drug recalls. They are not necessarily exercised by the pharmacies.

A drug recall (click here) is the most effective way to protect the public from a defective or potentially harmful product. A recall is a voluntary action taken by a company at any time to remove a defective drug product from the market.
The list below includes voluntary recalls in which public notification has been issued.
Go to the link above and look for the search line and type in the GENERIC name of the drug, dosage isn't necessary. Any VOLUNTARY  recalls will be listed along with the manufacturer. Check the manufacturer at the pharmacy dispensing/filling the prescription. If the manufacturer is listed in the VOLUNTARY recall, go to a different pharmacy for the medication.

All pharmacies in the USA should be executing drug recalls for the VOLUNTARY recall list. They aren't necessarily. There is an information window at every pharmacy that I am aware of and the pharmacist is required by law to answer consumer questions.
