Rick Perry. It is unfortunate, but, he isn't electable no matter how much he tries. It would be good if he would reflect on that reality and write a book. Perhaps the book writing may help him realize why Texas politics doesn't lend itself to national politics. Except, of course if one is a Bush. I wish him luck.
Four years ago he announced his ambitions. I saw a man confront his decision with culture shock. The Texas politics are steeped in Evangelical money and belief. But, that dynamic does not deliver a candidate prepared for the national stage. He may have been taking pain killers, but, that is an oddity. Was the procedure he received approved by the CDC? Experimental medicine at the human level should be met by approval of the CDC and/or the FDA depending the product.
One of these days Texas will actually have the insight to realize they stand far outside mainstream America and it's values.
