International Space Station Astronaut Leroy Chiao, like the rest of NASA, tracks key milestones for the Space Shuttle Return-to-Flight operations. A lucky overpass of the Space Station over Florida on April 6, 2005, allowed Leroy and his crew mate Salizhan Sharipov a unique view of the rollout of the Space Shuttle Discovery. At the time of his observations, Discovery was approximately midway between the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and launch pad 39-B at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Lake Worth Teen Reported Missing
Police Say Two May Have Been Bound For Miami

LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- An Amber Alert was issued in Florida Tuesday night for a teenager reported missing from Lake Worth.
According to police, Krystal Taylor, 17, is believed to have been abducted by Leonardo Estevez (pictured, right).
"If he doesn't have her, he knows who does," said Marie Collins, Taylor's sister-in-law "He knows where she is. That's our belief."

Taylor is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 102 pounds. She has brown eyes and curly brown hair with blond highlights.
She was last seen at her home, 5713 Strawberry Lake Circle in Lake Worth, around 6 a.m. Tuesday. Family members said she was pacing around the home after telling them she could not sleep.
She was wearing black or blue jeans with a white shirt.
"She needs to come home," said Marie Collins. "She has neices, nephews and a brother who love her very much, and she needs to come home."
 

Jacksonville Teen Believed Abducted From Plant City

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local girl who should have celebrated her 14th birthday this week with family and friends is missing, and police believe she may be at risk.
Hayley Huffman was last seen in Plant City, Fla. last week, where she was visiting her grandparents. A neighbor said they saw a man drive off with Hayley inside his car as she screamed for him to stop and let her out.
Santos Jesus Garcia, 24, -- the estranged husband of someone known by the family -- was identified as the man driving that car. An FBI Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution warrant was issued for Garcia (pictured, left) on Tuesday. Officials say the alleged abductor may use the alias name Francisco Nava, Frankie Garcia, Santos Garcia Morales or Santos Morales. He may also use an alias birth date of Oct. 28, 1982.
It is believed they may be traveling to Brownsville, Texas, in a 1991 maroon Chevrolet Lumina with Florida license plate U92UYR.
Hayley's mother, Allison Huffman, said she is very worried.
"Wondering if she's been hurt, raped, killed. (The) hardest things (are) going through my mind," Huffman said.
Plant City police told Channel 4 that no Amber Alert was issued because initial information from the family indicated she might have run away. By the time thay had suspect information and a specific description of a vehicle, two days had passed and they felt activation of the system would not have helped.

Police say a Florida teen on her way to visit relatives disappeared sometime after arriving at the Greyhound bus station in Detroit.
A teenage girl from Florida disappeared after boarding a Greyhound bus to visit relatives in Michigan, according to Local 4 reports.
The 16-year-old apparently boarded a bus in Perry, Fla., near Gainesville, en route to east Lansing, where she planned to stay with her aunt. The teen's mother contacted police Thursday morning to report her daughter missing, according to police.

Detectives are reportedly reviewing video from Greyhound bus cameras to track where the teen got off and on the bus.

Investigators say the last place she was seen was at a bus station in Tallahassee, Fla., but they're still working to determine if she may have traveled further along the route, the station reported.
The Greyhound station in Detroit is assisting Michigan State Police in their investigation. Police in Central Florida also continue to search for clues.

Tragic End for Missing Florida Teen
2-06-04 - The search for 11-year-old Carlie Brucia is now over. Her lifeless body was found Friday morning in a church parking lot near the car wash where she was abducted.
Friday the Florida teen's family and friends face the information they feared most. The kidnapping seen nationwide caught on video from a car wash surveillance camera Sunday evening.
Several days went by before authorities had a suspect. Joseph Smith is in custody and will most likely be charged with kidnapping and murder.
Authorities have not released any information as to the cause of death or if Smith led them to the body.
If Smith is convicted he could face the death penalty.

Many of these children were found AFTER so many were realized missing. There are still nearly 300 children missing and accounted for under Jeb Bush's administration. The governor has got to go !!!

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (CNN) -- Florida's child welfare agency said Monday it was unable to account for about 1,000 children in its system, including about 400 believed to have run away and more than 100 others missing because a non-custodial parent or relative took them.
"You just hope and pray that nothing happens, and you do your darnedest to find them," said Larry Pintacuda, the assistant secretary of operations for the Florida Department of Children and Families.

TALLAHASSEE - Even as he promises to hire more child welfare workers and pay them better, Gov. Jeb Bush is pushing to put more of the responsibility of safeguarding kids in the hands of local agencies and police.
Bush used his annual press interviews Thursday to promote taking key child welfare duties away from the Department of Children and Families, leaving that agency to do mostly administrative work.

CNN) -- A convicted sex offender facing capital murder charges in the killing of a 9-year-old Florida girl told investigators he buried her alive, law enforcement sources told CNN Friday night.
John Evander Couey, 46, who officials said confessed to the crimes, is charged with capital murder, burglary with battery, kidnapping and sexual battery on a child younger than 12.

In surprise win, Fatah beats Hamas at Bir Zeit University elections

Fatah defeated Hamas in a surprise victory in elections for the student council of Bir Zeit University in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

The voting at the university is thought to be representative of the power struggle between the two organizations, as the campaigns for Palestinian Authority local elections set for May 5 swing into their final phase.

The Bir Zeit student council, which had always been led by Hamas activists, was handed over to Fatah, which won 23 seats on the council, versus 22 for Hamas.

This is in comparison to the April 11, 2005 photo below of South Flanders Street. This is during the storm the other is 24 hours later. Note the 'bend' in the dog leash above. It was quite a wind and evidently people didn't feel safe being out in it alone. There are two people walking the dog then include the photographer who could not keep the blowing snow off the lens. There is an additional person in the picture totally 3 dog walkers. Survivors every one.

The good new is, IF you want to call it that is the Equatorial Air ring around the planet held. It bearly held but it held. The huge heat storm that broke off from the equator was pulled into the Antarctica vortex as was the Indian Ocean cyclone. The heat will be distributed differently around the Ice Continent rather than just damage in one area. The Equatorial air held. It didn't on February 4, 2005. Americans are consuming less fossil fuels in their internal combustion engines because it is over $2.00 per gallon. Good. Better it should be higher. We keep hoping this 'marginal' improvement continues as the solar radiation migrates north.

The Antartica Votex pulled into the Ice Continent. They are powerful systems that seek to cool this planet at any cost from the Ravages of Global Warming. Earth is trying to keep us and well as all the Earth's biota alive, if we would only let it. People believe there is a 'mystical' place in an undisclosed location known as Paradise. A place that has to be 'earned' and 'moved on to.' by good behavior. Why do people punish themselves into believing there is something better than what they have? Earth is perfect. If you believe in God know that he has created or allowed to be evolved a perfect planet to support the very life you live. Earth is working hard to keep us alive we should do the same. 

Carbon Dioxide Emissions Globally. It's a comparison of 1990, which is the goal of Kyoto to 2000. The USA is leading in Earth Abuse.

This is the record of carbon dioxide increase over the period Mauna Loa Laboratories have existed, The chart is approximately 44 years. The interesting aspect to this chart is the incease in incline. It is not a straight line increase. The 'saw tooth' pattern is the decrease of the blooming of the Northern Hemisphere beginning with Spring into Summer when the CO2 is being used. The Northern Hemisphere has larger land masses than the Southern Hemisphere which has larger oceans. 

This is the CURRENT 1000 year record of the increase of carbon dioxide on Earth. The CO2 is measured in ppm or parts per million. The SUSTAINED and skyrocketing increase began late 1800s with the Industrial Revolution.
