While Hurricane Michael is devastating the southeast, a state of emergency is called in Oklahoma.

Flooding and tornadoes.

October 9, 2018

Oklahoma City -- Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (click here) has declared a state of emergency for the entire state for tornadoes, rains and straight-line winds that have hit the state since Oct. 5.

Damage from tornadoes has been reported in northeastern Oklahoma, as well as Midwest City.

The order allows state agencies to make purchases related to disaster relief for 30 days.

The order goes for all 77 counties in the state.

Fallin also noted in a news release that there is a possibility for more rain and severe weather in the state this weekend

Michael and inland USA east coast.

In reflection of other states along the path of Hurricane Michael, I believe caution to optimistic outcomes is needed. I am thinking of the coastal communities of North Carolina. It looks, with current predictions, that the Carolina Coast will be spared a direct hit by Michael. However, with the knowledge there will be central and west rainfalls above what the rivers and creeks can contain, there can be flooding to the coast.

Tributaries will eventually drain toward the ocean. That means major rivers, like the Cape Fear will receive swollen rivers from west of the ocean. The rains in central and western east coast states MUST be monitored to understand what the coastal areas can expect in runoff to it's major rivers and any potential flooding to people in their homes.
I am sorry to hear we are all waiting to hear news about a Washington Post journalist.

Let me add some unscientific perspective to a disappearing journalist. It might bring about an understanding that foreign journalist face regarding oppression and censorship.

It is my opinion the communist nations such as China and Russia have used the event of Daesh's charismatic movement to instill fear of criticism of a country's leadership. In other words, any negative connotations about a leader are labeled as dissident and of the mind of Daesh. That fear has instilled the right to arrest and most probably imprison or cause the death of Daesh sympathizers.

I believe that dynamic is also the reason China has a permanent strong man at it's helm. Communism does not require elections so much as assignments of leadership from within it's ranks. I am not saying President Xi Jinping is not a good president. I believe he is among the great leaders of China. But, the idea there is no longer elections may have its roots in the assault Daesh provided to countries around the world.

So, to bring this to a brief end, there is still shadows of Daesh within the world. The ghosts are still walking among us and the countries globally are still reacting to the depth of such a regime and it's successful use of the Muslim faith. Rightfully so. But. We need to come together still as a large community to fight all the good fights, including the climate crisis and the ghosts of Daesh to bring about permanent safety to all countries.
Panama City Beach, Florida is 10 feet above sea level. Any people still at GROUND LEVEL need to move to any high rise that can bring them at least 20 feet above sea level, but, on the third floor is best.

Inland waterways and lakes can become very dangerous very quickly, too.
The Democrats will turn the USA into Venezuela? Really? Everyone has to know it is blatant nonsense. Last time it was the USA was going to turn into Greece.

I am a little worried though, because, Trump has reduced the tax structure of the USA to a trickle into the US Treasury. There is also the issue of the tariffs and currently 2 percent inflation. Trump is losing jobs at four times the rate of job creation. If the USA falls into the state of Venezuela, I think we know who we can blame and it isn't Democrats.

First Lady Melania statements during the Kavanaugh hearings prove that some women do not understand how charges of sexual assault and rape are carried out. These crimes are proven by testimony and any peripheral evidence. There are usually no witnesses to these crimes. Friends in the same room, especially in gang rape, are not witnesses to innocence. I continue to appreciate her interest. If she wants to pursue a deeper understanding it would be welcome. The First Lady can hold summits to bring an understanding of crimes against women.

This was I-40 in North Carolina after Florence. The ocean backed up the rivers and creeks to major floods carrying fish with it.

Some of those are very large fish. They weren't normally found in those creeks. The chronic flooding over days brought ocean and Cape Fear River fish into creeks that carried them ALIVE across I-40. Consider that an omen.

Hurricane Michael (click here) is barrelling towards Florida with an increasing risk of life-threatening storm surges, heavy rainfall and dangerous winds ahead of landfall today.

The NHC said the centre of Michael is now just 100 miles from Florida and was making its rapid approach towards landfall.

Michael is currently a category 4 hurricane - meaning if the winds continue to strengthen, it could become the most powerful hurricane to hit the Florida Panhandle in history.

Some areas, including Western Cuba, Florida Panhandle and Big Ben should be braced for up to 12 inches of torrential rainfall, which could lead to life threatening flash floods.

I am sure the jets aren't there.

Lawyer who went to Yale with Brett Kavanaugh: 'I hadn't seen him that angry... (click here for Trump's stymied FBI investigation)

In preparing an impeachment the evidence has to be true and complete. Sources came forward, but, were purposely avoided in compiling the FBI report about Kavanaugh. The current FBI report will have to be subpoenaed and made part of the impeachment to prove the manipulation that provided Kavanaugh a seat on the Supreme Court. The impeachment has to be convincing enough to make any Republican know it is his seat that is on the line as well.

Private planes sure are better than flying coach.

Mrs. Haley states the people that gave her free plane rides were friends. Well, heck, if there were people willing to give me free plane rides they'd be my friend, too.

You have to watch out for those millionaires that want favors when they have private planes and jets. A relative of mine had the problem once in North Carolina. In order to gain the favor in a government matter my relative was offered a free plane ride to any vacation spot in the southeast. Thinking the gentleman was trying to make a pass at her, she stated if anything like that were to happen she would have to bring her husband, thinking that would end the exchange. It didn't. The gentleman said to bring your husband and kids along if she cared to.

See, when the wealthy, especially in the South, want a favor or two or three, and they own a plane or jet, it becomes a bargaining chip. It is an old strategy, but, sometimes it worked. My relative gracefully bowed out and upheld the government's position without compromise. This mess goes on far more often than anyone will admit and Ambassador Haley is no different. I am rather surprised she has so many friends with planes. Seems a little odd. One or two is expected of a former Governor, but, more than that and it seems like a bad habit. Maybe when the Ambassador ends her time at the UN she might decide to take a commercial jet home and sit coach if that is what her budget allows.

I worry about security issues and the conversations in those private plane flights as well. After all they are good friends, right?

A Washington, D.C., (click here) watchdog group wants a federal investigation into U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley’s use of private planes owned by S.C. businessmen.

The group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, says Haley undervalued the flights by tens of thousands of dollars on her annual financial disclosure form required of federal officials.

The complaint was filed before Haley announced she was resigning as ambassador on Tuesday. Haley’s resignation is seemingly unrelated to the ethics complaint.

The ethics group says the flights create the impression of impermissible gifts to a public official. However, Haley said on her disclosure the men are all personal friends and, thus, exempt from federal rules about accepting flights on private planes....

This is the answer to throwing women under the bus for their political ideology.

Susan Rice should run. (click here) This is the way Grassley sees his role in the Republican Party. He disregards governance and the people and counts on big money donors to win an election. The Republicans are buying the country and we end up with 40% of the people of the USA deciding the future for all of us. That is not what the USA was founded on. It was founded on the principle the majority of the people will be served by good governance.

The Robert's Court with the majority opinion in Citizen's United written by the retired Associate Justice Kennedy facilitated the sale of the USA. That is the kind of court it is. It is a Republican court that will time and again apply their particular politics to the USA Constitution.

I don't know of a more clear example of the USA being bought by Dark Money. Grassley is very confident he can raise $3 million to save Collins Senate Seat. First, they pass a Republican operative justice into the Supreme Court and then when it is done, Grassley will simply find more money to ensure Collins seat. There it is.

Susan Rice should run in 2020 against Collins. If she started now and got the grassroots with her, Susan could win.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, (click here) told Fox News on Tuesday night that he wanted to help raise $3 million in support of Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, amid a barrage of criticism over her vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court and a fundraising campaign seeking to oust her in 2020.

Collins was a key swing vote in the battle to confirm Kavanaugh and her 45-minute speech on the Senate floor announcing her "aye" vote last week virtually ensured his ascension to the high court. Since then, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice has floated running against Collins and a crowdfunding campaign started by Maine progressive groups to fund the Republican's future opponent has raised more than $3.3 million. The groups -- Be A Hero Team, Maine People's Alliance and Mainers for Accountable Leadership -- said Collins' re-election campaign would have received the money if she'd voted against Kavanaugh's confirmation....
