May 1, 2005. Someone made the statement Colorado is a mile high and some of the places 3000 feet up. Right. So, kindly explain to me why they are getting 22 inches of snow and ice when there is none on the caps of the mile high mountains. You all want to try? Noted, the GROSS amount of water runoff in the foreground.

The meetings started on April 17 and ended on April 21, the sources said, adding that the media was banned from covering the talks.
The sources, who demanded anonymity, refused to identify the U.S. or the European officials who participated in the talks, but said that they are influential figures, including researchers, politicians and reporters.

Global warming getting harder to ignore
By Derrick Z. Jackson
FOR more' than four years, President Bush has told us he needs to see the 'sound science' on global warming before joining the rest of the world in combating it. In June 2001, he brushed off criticism of his pullout from the Kyoto Protocol, saying: 'It was not based upon science. The stated mandates in the Kyoto treaty would affect our economy in a negative way.'

Reorganization plan promises prison reform
THE immense troubles plaguing California's prison systems can almost all be attributed to a lack of independent, quality leadership. If anything is going to change in state prisons, it will require tough leadership from the top down.
We're cautiously optimistic, then, that the state laid some of the necessary groundwork for that this week in its approval of the prison-system reorganization plan. The Legislature gave final approval Monday to the plan backed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

GOP has issued an Orwellian diktat over 'nuclear option'
By Molly Ivins
I was all set to write a column about the nuclear option the proposal to change the rules of the Senate in order to get President Bush's most questionable judicial appointments through when, lo, word came that there is no nuclear option anymore. It is now called "the constitutional option.'
Who changed it? Why, the Republican Party, of course. Having found that "nuclear option' does not poll well, the Republicans simply decreed the rules change can no longer be described by that name. Further, the Republican Party sent media operatives around to major news organizations to inform them that anyone who fails to obey the new diktat on usage will be demonstrating the dread "liberal bias.'

Pentagon Says Iraq Effort Limits Ability to Fight Other Conflicts
By THOM SHANKER
Published: May 3, 2005
WASHINGTON, May 2 - The concentration of American troops and weapons in Iraq and Afghanistan limits the Pentagon's ability to deal with other potential armed conflicts, the military's highest ranking officer reported to Congress on Monday.
The officer, Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, informed Congress in a classified report that major combat operations elsewhere in the world, should they be necessary, would probably be more protracted and produce higher American and foreign civilian casualties because of the commitment of Pentagon resources in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Cache Explodes in Afghanistan, Killing 34
By CARLOTTA GALL
Published: May 3, 2005
HERAT, Afghanistan, May 2 - A cache of explosives stored at a former commander's house exploded Monday in a village in northern Afghanistan, destroying much of the village, killing 34 people and injuring 16, most of them women and children, local officials said.
A medical team sent to the scene reported seeing 26 bodies prepared for burial before sunset, and 7 more bodies that had been pulled from the rubble, the director of the Civilian Hospital of Pul-i-Khumri, Dr. Muhammad Yusuf Fayez, said in a telephone interview. Another man with serious head injuries died in the hospital in the evening, he said, bringing the total dead to 34.

May 3, 2005. European-Africa Global Satellite. Noted from below better visualized here is the heat transfer system over South America to the Antarctica Vortex. Noted the complete separation of the Polar Vortexes from the equator. APPROPRIATE heat systems noted over Africa's Equator. Heat conduit continues between South America and Africa with grossly diminished intensity. Noted northeast of Madagascar are tropospheric distrubances better visualized on a different satellite.
Human Induced Global Warming has spawned an Ice Age Mechanism. But. It's too hot to start Global Glaciation. WE ARE MELTING !!
The reason I believe the view is consistent is that the Northern Hemisphere is currently caught up in a CAPPING vortex 'heat distribution' system that has disconnected from the equator and is distributing the 'coldness' of the Arctic Ocean down around the lower latitudes at the expense of the ice formations under this phenomena. Note the 'rigids' of air separating this unique climate system from an existing climate system at the equator. I'll attach a link from UNISYS to view the motion although the '12 hour' version isn't working the way it should at the moment. I might be my computer. Here we go.
April 30, 2005. This is a picture of the troposphere taken in Anchorage, Alaska. It is reasonable to say these are indicative of the type of 'heat trapping' event occuring in the Arctic Circle. This is an excellant representation and although not the exact date and time these cloud formations in this area are consistent over time. The 'picture' has changed that much over a few days. I believe it indicates the type of 'on the ground view' being noted from satellites below.

Government officials said Gedi was taken to "a safe location" north of Mogadishu.

Annan warns of nuclear threat
May 3, 2005 - 2:49PM
The voice was soft, calm and familiar. But the scenario UN Secretary General Kofi Annan sketched out was chilling.
A nuclear bomb goes off in a great city. Chaos ensues.
A frightened world asks: "Was this an act of terrorism? Was it an act of aggression by a state? Was it an accident?"
Tens or hundreds of thousands would die, the UN chief said, and questions, implications and dread would consume world leaders.

There was an elegant 70s' mood to some of the floaty off-the-shoulder tops and embroidered kaftans, in summery colours of aqua, white, pistachio, pink, latte, and watermelon, as well as some psychedelic prints.
Some luscious halter-neck gowns and supple satin sheaths, edged in sparkle, were a delectable finale.

NOT "SOUTH PARK" - okay? This is serious business. No one this administration takes it seriously because it doesn't kill or do damage. This demonstration is an annoyance if we are lucky. Bush/Cheney and the Desperate Housewive of DC completely IGNORE the efforts of tens of thousands of Americans to be heard. The movement is SERIOUS, not a frivilous activity of women and men who can't seem to get 'in step' with war mongering. The world takes note how hard we fight for peace through our activism in the USA. It is very important no matter how disheartening this administration persists in it's agenda of war that we all continue to make statement of Non-Proliferation and Peace. There is an article today in The New York Times regarding the inability of the USA to be a global hero anymore. My words, not theirs.
