In Trump's first term he had some of the best the USA military had to offer in the way of advisors. He also had a really great Vice President. The Veep was a good and decent man who just happened to be one of the most devout Christians ever to be in the USA Senate. Former Vice President Mike Pence (click here) was a rock to Trump's grossly lacking experience in governance. On the ideological spectrum there were fewer to the right politically than Mike Pence.
Now, Trump is simply untrustworthy.
By every measure Hegseth should not have been confirmed and absolutely should not be there. Hegseth has sent the USA military back in time at least two decades in expertise in leadership and even at two decades Former President Bush never was ridiculously careless in maintaining qualified military leadership.
So, realizing Hegseth is a weak leader leaning into charisma rather than real leadership through knowledge, experience, and good judgement; why is he still there?
Loyalty.
When Trump nominated him it was not a surprise realizing how entrenched Trump was at FOX News. Hegseth had proven not only to be loyal to Trump, but, to handily promote propaganda. That skill is again making the forefront of the USA military reality as Hegseth eliminated the staff at "Stars and Stripes." Hegseth doesn't want the soldier to have information or a different opinion than his own; Hegseth wants control. It won't work and the staff at the "Stars and Stripes" news media were conservative and very loyal to the soldiers. The soldiers already know the truth. They will read propaganda and wonder what the heck they are reading.
But, I continue to ask, why Hegseth? A media darling? Nope, that isn't it.
Trump wants a loyalist more than he wants an experienced military expert in the office of Secretary of Defense. But, why? What does Trump have planned that Hegseth is so loyal to and willing to kiss the ring and carry out Trump's demands at a second's notice?
I believe it is a conspiracy. Why the ballroom bomb shelter? It was handily pointed out in the Washington Post there is a nuke proof bunker at the White House. This bomb shelter is bigger and better. Without a doubt. Everything is state of the art which the old bunker, while sufficient, is not as comfy cozy.
I think we have a real problem and need to come to terms with it. There is a Trifecta of leadership here that believes God is on their side. Trump, Netanyahu, and Hegseth. The leadership in Israel is not on a different course than Netanyahu, they are in lock step.
See, I think Trump sincerely doesn't care about the state of the USA military because if he can make the country believe it is desperately at the mercy of Iran he will reach into his bag of tricks and pull out nukes. Every time I confront this topic the logical conclusion is always the same, premeditated nuclear war. Trump is on the wrong side of loyalty and the wrong side of serving the American people.

Trump is proving very irresponsible judgement by allowing a completely unqualitifed woman not only access to him, but, he provided her with top security clearance that allows her presence everywhere including military briefings. There is nothing What's Her Name can't have access to including classified documents. That is an enormous demonstration of Trump's intentions. His creature comforts are far more important than the USA national security. Yet. The Republican Congress does nothing.
Hegseth is in that office for a reason and it isn't national security. Trump is proving over and over national security is not a top priority. Hegseth is in the Secretary of Defense cabinet position because of loyalty to a predetermined cause. With the ballroom progressive at a pace that is basically 24/7, every American should be concerned. If Roberts gave Trump the go ahead, he is over riding Congress and every agency put in place to protect the integrity of Washington, DC. Roberts has no place in this. He is overriding the Legislative Branch. Roberts is not respecting separation of powers.

New Zealand’s Civil Aviation Authority was aware the flight from Christchurch pivoted following the agency’s issue of a Notice to Airmen, or NOTAM, to the aircraft, a CAA spokesperson told Military Times.
In a follow-up statement, the spokesperson said that the CAA was made aware by the Russian air traffic agency of a planned missile launch and associated potential hazard to international airspace within New Zealand’s Oceanic Flight Information Region.
“As a result, we put in place a danger area and issued a NOTAM to alert aircraft operators to the potential hazard,” the spokesperson said. “This does not prevent aircraft from flying through the area, operators make their decisions based on the information available.”...
