Scientists state there was a glacier collapse causing a 5.2 seismic event. China states there is now a lake upstream from the devastation witnessed which could repeat flooding. 

The New York Times as a video accounting of this climate crisis event.

The slurry is estimated to have been 200 meters high wiping out the biotic content of the land. There are segments of villages above the 200 meter destruction. There is a chance surviving hikers could have been in those isolated areas. The villages are noted in this NY Times reporting. These isolated areas are easily seen from the helicopter.

Given the reporting by China the people need to be evacuated. The people need essentials when relocated. They need food, water, shelter, clothing, medical attention, and a return of community and common purpose to reclaim life as they know it.

The latest is a recognition of the exact location of the collapsed glacier at 5200 feet. That is what dictated the velocity of the slurry. 

Earth’s heating was carried by the rain. The glacier was already under stress if rain simply finished the job. It is safe to say the heat accumulation can be found nearly one mile up. In that is a place (location in altitude) for global investigation of glacier and ice fields for stability. The reason for the investigation is to determine the danger posed to all life below those glaciers. 

If possible, putting glaciologist on the glaciers in question can determine the quality of the glacier. HOWEVER, every degree of safety for those precious professionals must be in place. It is always the choice of the scientist to enter an area of investigation.

This is ano her lame ambition by Trump to pretend the USA can invest in other countries like a business. We can't. It is why USAID existed. In order to help the people of any country the USA would open it's charitable monies to the country.

The USA can negotiate conditions for private companies so they can sell their wares to the American people, assuming the Americans want it.

Nepal

American hikers from northern Virginia are missing. 

Where was their route of travel and their route of hiking? 

That area is devastated. The slurry of water and debris in the pictures and videos is massive. The chance of finding the dead is very remote. If they are alive it could be am infrastructure problem and aerial surveys can confirm the living. I don’t have much hope for them, but, the area should be evaluated for the possibility of survivors. 

My sympathies for the families and friends. There is always a remote chance they are alive somewhere. 

These are the Himalayan mountains. This is the region of Mount Everest. The velocity of the melt water came from thousands of feet if not tens of thousands of feet above sea level. The velocity and the amount of debris is unthinkable.
