"What goes up must come down."

acquired August 4, 2013

...Noctilucent clouds (click here) are also known as polar mesospheric clouds (PMCs), as they appear in the summer hemisphere over polar latitudes. Some data suggest that these clouds are becoming brighter and appearing at lower latitudes, perhaps as an effect of global warming. A comparison of noctilucent cloud formation from 2012 and 2013 has been compiled using data from NASA’s Aeronomy of Ice in the Mesosphere (AIM) spacecraft. You can see the sequence here....

No, Mr. King you are completely wrong. When I say the Republicans are morons when it comes to governance, I mean they are morons.

Noctilucent clouds are forming in the upper troposphere, probably of oxygen, where they have never formed before. That means the oxygen of Earth's troposphere is migrating out of the troposphere into the upper atmospheric layers. That oxygen or any other gas of our atmosphere that migrates up is NOT coming down.

Then there are irresponsible people actually entertaining 'seeding' the atmosphere to slow the effects of global warming. Well. That is more than moronic because if the chemicals are spread throughout the troposphere it does not mean they won't migrate up and mix with the other gases and begin to do strange things like completely destroy the ozone layer and/or ignite.

So, while the Republicans see nothing wrong with melting every ice field on Earth in order to drill in the Arctic, that isn't where some of the worst news actually exists.

Moron. You are a moron Representative Steve King.

A house representative is not suppose to play with fire. They are suppose to serve and protect the people of this nation.

Placing designs on other nations is what has the USA's reputation in the sewer.

The difference between the Republicans and Democrats in their approach is the Democrats want to know what can be done while the Republicans demand 'what they want' to be done. Hence. war, military escalation and out of control defense spending.

Being the world's largest superpower does not give permission for the USA to invade sovereign nations, take what it wants, commit human rights abuses both domestic and international. Being the world's largest superpower does not provide for war without end or to serve Wall Street.

That reality is far more boring and less Hollywood, but, I can live with it and so can many others. It is far less likely to lead to nationalism as well.

It is just a matter of seniority. Career time. They aren't back to their old jobs.

Rep. Darrell Issa blasted (click here) the State Department for not taking disciplinary action on four employees who were cited as having “a lack of proactive leadership” in the run-up to the attack last year on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.
Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, responding to a letter from State in response to his query about the status of the four employees, called the delayed decision on the four employees a “charade that included false reports of firings and resignations and now ends in a game of musical chairs where no one misses a single day on the State Department payroll.”...

What was occurring in Libya were determinations by militia leaders to take a path of self-protection and to remove any person viewed as a potential threat to bring back a dictatorship. The USA had a strong connection to Libya regardless of Gaddafi's reputation to the people of Libya. To the militias fighting to remove Gaddafi and ultimately leading to his death, they were the ones most vested in the outcome. They didn't want the USA to proclaim victory on their dime. There were many Libyan militia members that died in the conflict. It was their right to conduct the country without oppression.

Ambassador Stevens was an optimist and determined to have a relationship with the people and the new government. Unknown to him and other intelligence within Libya, there were decisions being made moment by moment by militia leaders. That is not possible to track.

The militias were relying on the only priorities they knew and that was of their religious basis and their history with Libya's dictator. In many ways, the State Department was HOPING Libyan officials (ie: new central government) would be able to deliver the country to a state of stability immediately after Gaddafi was assassinated. One could say that was naive, but, the USA knew the people of Libya. They were the ones it relied on as steadfast as an ally.

What the USA did not expect is the same of what they did not expect in Iraq, complete breakdown of authority to provide protection to our ambassador and his staff. The changes in Libyan authority was becoming more diffuse and not more stable.

Ambassador Stevens was in Libya without reservation to the actual reality changing around him. The reason he was without reservation and believing Benghazi was a better alternative to Tripoli was because the intelligence was bad. I think I said that from the start. But, to state that means USA intelligence could actually assess what was occurring is a gross assumption. It could not. The USA intelligence in Libya was unaware of the rapidly deteriorating circumstances and unable to formulate correct assessments. The 'action' in Libya was in transition and not measurable.

One only knew the reality of Libya by living it. That is why Ambassador Stevens asked for more security, but, there was nothing concrete to facilitate the reality that was Libya at that point. The reality was the only safer environment in Libya was in Tripoli and at best that was still dangerous. Stevens wanted Benghazi as an alternate consulate sight. He was too willing to believe all could be contained.

The deaths were tragic, sudden and heinous. There was no predicting them. The State Department employees have a right to finish their careers with the records of dedication they have and they have a right to do that within their record of employment.

Secretary Kerry is correct and anything more than that is a witch hunt without a witch to find.

I believe  Ambassador Stevens and his staff are among the most brave the USA has within it's diplomatic corp. I have great sympathy to all that love him. But, bravery is not all that is required sometimes. Volatile circumstances have no definition to allow the best judgement. Ambassador Stevens acted on what he knew and he simply didn't know enough at that time. No one did.

Just wanted to ses someone die. That is OBJECTIFICATION of a gun culture.

The USA has become a very violent society. Tough talk by police isn't going to change this, it will make it worse. The country has to stop the free flow of weapons to the streets of the USA. That is the only way this ends.

Remember that random shooting in Oakland, California. This one (click here). It reminded me of something. Random killings such as this and the one in Oakland are not really random at all. They usually are gang initiation killings.

When a street gang takes a new member the only law the gang exists with are street rules. So, if a member wants to be a part of the gang they have to initiate to the worst crime ever committed by any other gang member. Not only commit the crime, but, be witnessed committing it. This way the gang has leverage of it's members. If a member wants to snitch on another because they were arrested and can become a valuable asset to police and/or has a rush of conscience, the murder they commit or a less crime in the case of an occasional new gang, is a reminder where their true loyalties lie. Police and primarily investigators/detectives need to keep that in mind when a random killing occurs such as these that there can be a greater motive.

There can be simple hate crimes, but, there can also be racketeering even in the youngest of shooters.

As the family of an Australian baseball player (click here) gunned down in Oklahoma mourns his death, police said today that the athlete was targeted by three teenagers who simply "wanted to see someone die."
The suspects followed Chris Lane, 22, as he jogged alongside a road in Duncan, Okla., Friday afternoon, shot him in the back and left him to die on the side of the road, said Duncan police Chief Danny Ford.
"They were bored and just wanted to see somebody die," Ford told ABCNews.com.
Lane, who was on a baseball scholarship at East Central University in Ada, Okla., and was in town visiting his girlfriend, died shortly after he arrived at the hospital, Ford said.
While no one witnessed the shooting, Ford said several people heard a gunshot and reported seeing a black car speeding away from the area of the shooting.
Authorities used surveillance video from local businesses, Ford said, and noticed a black vehicle had pulled behind a hotel for 11 minutes after the shooting before driving away.
A frantic three hours passed, Ford said, without any sign of the vehicle, until a call came in Friday evening "that there were three juveniles at a house with guns and wanting to kill somebody."...

It may be if this resolves it might reflect a burgeoning stability for the region.

Settling the rift between Palestine and Isreal can only improve the circumstances in the Middle East. It would be good.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli and Palestinian teams (click here) flew to Washington on Monday to end five years of diplomatic stalemate and prepare for a new round of Mideast peace talks, though optimism was in short supply after two decades of failed attempts to reach a deal.
The resumption of talks was made possible by a decision by Israel's Cabinet on Sunday to free 104 long-held Palestinian prisoners in four stages, linked to progress in talks. The release was part of an agreement brokered early this month by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to bring the sides back to the negotiating table.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has been reluctant to negotiate with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, fearing the hard-line Israeli leader will reject what the Palestinians consider minimal territorial demands.
The Palestinians want a state in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem, territories Israel captured in 1967, but have accepted the principle of limited land swaps to allow Israel to annex some of the dozens of settlements it has built on war-won lands.
Abbas had repeatedly said he will only go to talks if Israel either freezes settlement building or recognizes the 1967 lines as a starting point for drawing the border of a state of Palestine.
Palestinian officials reiterated Monday that they received US assurances that Washington considers the 1967 lines the basis for border talks....

The political Right Wing will never stop tinkering with the US Constitution. Just plan on it.

They have too much money and don't put it to go use to grow small businesses or invest in the USA economy. Control, oppression and regressive priorities come before any other good works. If Preachers can't grow their congregations willingly then they need to accept the fact they will never do it through government intimidation.

Oklahoma is ranked 5th in the nation in Teen Pregnancies. (click here) It is way over the national average. 50.4% of their teen pregnancy rate occurs between the ages of 15 through 19. These young women need to have options. Oklahoma is ridiculous.

This is just a little disconnected from reality. Just a little. Yet, leo94 is supposed to believe prayers will prevent an unwanted pregnancy. Right.

Prayer for my girlfriend not to be pregnant yet. (click here)

Hello everyone, I need help from God to help me out on these difficult times. I do not want my girlfriend to get pregnant just yet, I am too young and am not ready for this huge step in my life. This is not the first time I go through this and the other two times God has been very helpful and made a mircale to me for her not to be pregnant. I again ask with all of my apologies of not having learned my lesson for God to please help me out in this situation, and promise to have learned my lesson. I will wish not to commit more sins, I would give up anything in my life for this not to happen, it is just not the moment yet. Thank you everyone and please help me out God.

Seventeen year old can't determine their own outcomes? It is no uncommon for 16 year olds to be treated as adults in any criminal-justice system in Oklahoma. That holds true for most of the Southern states. If a sixteen year old, or sometimes as young as 13, can be treated as an adult for a crime, then I think they can decide their outcomes should they have an unwanted pregnancy. Parents need an option for their teens. If they are sexually active as many are they need to be able to problem solve when they come home with an unwanted pregnancy.

OKLAHOMA CITY - A state law that puts restrictions on the emergency contraceptive drug Plan B One-Step was put on hold Monday by a temporary injunction issued by Oklahoma County District Judge Lisa Davis.

A section of House Bill 2226, which deals with health insurance forms, requires women and girls age 17 and older to show identification to a pharmacist to obtain the drug or generic emergency contraceptives. It also requires girls younger than 17 to have a prescription to obtain the drugs....

...Davis said she was granting the injunction (click here) because she believes the plaintiffs' likelihood of success in the suit is fairly strong.

David Brown, a staff attorney for the Center for Reproductive Rights, said no other state in the country has such restrictions on the drug.

If the law were to take effect, the plaintiffs would lose rights they currently have, Brown said.

Patrick Wyrick, solicitor general for Pruitt's office, said that for years a prescription was required for the drug, but that requirement was withdrawn recently.

"This has been the law," Wyrick said.

He said the measure did not violate the single-subject rule and is not a special law. He said the measure contained no surprises and was vigorously debated.

All the provisions in the measure relate to prescription drugs, Wyrick said. Because the measure has a common theme, it passes the germaneness test, he said.

Plan B One-Step, called "the morning-after pill," prevents ovulation or fertilization. It can't terminate an existing pregnancy, so it does not cause abortions. It is generally not effective more than 72 hours after sex, according to the Center for Reproductive Rights.

The injunction is expected to remain in place until the case is resolved....

I beginning to believe there might be somthing to the Diana stories now.

In a remarkable post, (click here) Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger describes how the British government raided the Guardian’s offices in order to destroy hard drives containing information provided by NSA leaker Edward Snowden. The British government had been pressuring the Guardian to return or destroy the Snowden documents. Rusbridger says he tried to explain that destroying hard drives would be pointless:...
