The Antarctica Wind Chime

Please be careful.

This is NOT Antarctica.
This IS Pulaski, New York. The date is obvious.
Photographer states :: We've had enough, after 10 days of heavy snow, we finally got some sunshine

Focus in back injuries.
A couple of weeks ago, my husband got to use his new snow blower.

Actually, it was over a year old, but it was the first snow worthy of it.

I nagged him into buying it last year, because I was concerned about the dangers of shoveling snow. Of course, he thought I was overreacting to the news reports.

…Researchers report an increase in the number of fatal heart attacks among snow shovelers after heavy snowfalls. This rise may be due to the sudden demand that shoveling places on an individual's heart. Snow shoveling can cause a quick increase in heart rate and blood pressure.

One study determined that after only two minutes of shoveling, sedentary mens' heart rates rose to levels higher than those normally recommended during aerobic exercise. Two minutes!...

Antarctica

It is getting colder. Not as cold as it gets but colder. There are less temperate areas.

Vostok is - 52 degrees Centigrade with humidity of 32% with an elevation of 3420 meters, while Base Jubany, Antarctica at elevation of 4 meters is 5 degrees Centigrade with 79% humidity.

The trend currently is toward freezing and consistently so. The temperatures along the coast at lower elevations are cooler, primarily due to the migration of the sun. The sun has reached a point on the curve of Earth that is affording Antarctica some relief from the heat.

The ‘change’ to a colder climate over Antarctica today is also evidenced by the increase in
‘wind’ velocity (click on), especially over East Antarctica. That tells me there is significant change in air mass temperatures. Rising, falling air masses. Colder falls, heat rises. Not at all homogenous today as it was the other week, which to me was very spooky and ominous. The only air movement then was the jet stream. Today the jet (click on) is being impacted by the winds and that is a good thing. No ‘latent’ heat lying around to continue to sublime ice.
