Archie

I don’t really follow the British Queen and her family or the commonwealth. I think this is about Archie and his soon to be sibling. The adults can carry on as they will, but, it won’t be long before Archie is going to be old enough to understand what is being said today. I find it sad and unfortunate that among the first things Archie will understand is racist hate. This is among his family. It is cruel and unkind.

I understand that Prince William was also effected. Princess Diana was his mother as well. I really think tabloid journalism hits a little close to home.

I didn’t see the interview.

The Vote

Opportunities to vote must increase. There are far more citizens voting in every election that passes. Single day voting is obsolete. It is impossible to have every registered voter cast their ballot in a voting booth on a particular day regardless of the numbers of hours at the polling place, unless every election is a national or state holiday. Even then all registered voters won’t fit into a 24 hour timeline if the polling place opens at 12:01 am and closed at 11:59 pm. 

The polling places across the USA already have long lines, up to 11 hours long with absentee and multiple day voting. The idea a state legislature is compressing the opportunity to vote is a hateful act. Ease in voting has to prevail. Eliminating the absentee ballot will exclude a large number of citizens in the military. For a country with an active military that is unconscionable.

The Jury

The death of George Floyd happened anyway. The idea a video is contaminating a jury pool is ludicrous. The police were aware people were video recording their arrest of Mr. Floyd. It didn’t matter to them because they were more interested in killing the man. If the police knowing killed a man in full view of the public what makes anyone think it is going to matter in a murder trial?

Four officers murdered George Floyd. One is on trial. ???? The other three don’t matter?

The video taped evidence will be seen by the jury as evidence. Does it matter whether the evidence was viewed more than once?

Ready for this? Is the USA racist? You betcha. There is a lawsuit that came out today against the NFL. Why? Because their settlement of the concussion lawsuits also included a race factor. Black athletes were scored differently from Caucasian athletes. Who did this? The NFL is corrupt to the core. 

YES, racism is corruption!

It is Spring Break and Florida fails the country again. Stay out of Florida.

Florida currently has the capacity to perform as it did last year with SARS-CoV-2 in spreading variants throughout the country.

Outside of quarantine what guarantine is there that prevents spread within an entire school?

The New Zealand Model is the only method of ending mutations. Contact tracing has to be mandatory to stop virus mutation spread under the current paradigm.

A child in Jackson County (click here) has the first known Michigan case of a COVID-19 variant first detected in South Africa.

The B.1.351 variant of COVID-19 was identified Monday by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Laboratories today, according to a release late Monday night from the State Emergency Operations Center.

Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, the chief state medical executive, in a statement in the release expressed concern at the discovery, but said it was “not unexpected.”

The latest variant to arrive in Michigan was first detected in October 2020 in South Africa and it shares some mutations with the B.1.1.7 variant, MDHHS noted.

There is controversy as to the effectiveness of existing vaccines and their ability to end variant spread. BE VACCINATED ANYWAY. Being vaccinated will prevent the SARS-CoV-2 virus from mutating further. Continue to practice all measures to end the virus spread, in wearing masks, social distancing, hand hygiene, and eliminate facial touching other than personal hygiene and only after hands are clean.

Despite the increasing global circulation of COVID-19 vaccines, (click here) the variants of the virus that emerged in late 2020 may disrupt the world’s mission to achieve herd immunity, according to a new study approved for publishing in the journal Nature.

Researchers specifically look at the South African COVID-19 mutation, scientifically dubbed B.1.351, analyzing whether or not these pathogens are more resistant to immune responses prompted by the available vaccines.

Samples of biological fluids, namely convalescent plasma and vaccinee sera, were collected and studied for the volume of COVID-19-neutralizing antibodies contained among volunteers who recovered from a documented COVID-19 infection. This highlights concern for potential reinfection....

The Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine (click here) appears to be highly effective against a more contagious variant of the virus first discovered in Brazil, according to a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, raising hopes that ongoing vaccination efforts will help curb the variant’s spread.

The study of the vaccine produced by U.S. firm Pfizer and German partner BioNTech was conducted by scientists from the two companies and researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch. It comes as public health experts warn that the more transmissible variants could drive yet another surge in covid-19 cases, particularly as restrictions are lifted across the United States.

The variant, known as P.1 has spread rapidly across Brazil since emerging in early January, reinfecting people who already had covid, and leaving a tidal wave of misery and death in its wake. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, just 15 cases of the Brazil variant have been identified in nine states....

The filibuster has no purpose except obstruction to majority policies.

The US Senate filibuster is nothing more than a power play to oppress democracy. Democracy is based in the success of the majority. Where has the filibuster added QUALITY to any vote in the USA Senate?

Proponents for the filibuster have no reason to maintain it's power except the power to prevent a democracy to function. 

The filibuster should be revered if it actually has a point to make from the minority party(ies) in the USA Senate. There is a defense for preventing the end of the US Senate filibuster if it actually adds quality to any bill, but, it doesn't.

Where in any filibuster did reading Dr. Suess improve the quality of the legislation that was being obstructed?

If the majority is locking the minority parties out of debate then a filibuster might be valuable, but, to use it as an obstruction tool is an assault against democracy. The filibuster is only valuable where it ends tyranny to insure a minority party is being heard and valued. Conducting a filibuster to assault a vote whereby a majority is known to exist removes the power of representative government.

The US Senate in clinging to the filibuster not only nullifies the majority rule of the USA democracy it completely eliminates the US House's authority in its majority vote. That is an outrageous reality to the people who voted and expected their majority representatives and senators to succeed in the agenda that benefits them. 

Currently, the filibuster is nullifying elections. It is not a function of democracy and that is a very valuable tool to those that want to end the USA democracy. Ten minority Senators are needed to pass legislation currently. Ten minority Senators are more powerful than the electorate of the entire country. It is wrong and misplaced power.

The filibuster has no value in a democracy when it's only purpose is obstruction as it is today. There is no quality of debate by a fillibuster that ACTUALLY ADDS QUALITY TO THE LEGISLATIVE PROCEDURE.

The US Senate filibuster is an assault against the will of the people and the USA Constitution.
