Lead in water has different effects on children and adults. Children are permanently scarred.

From the Detroit Free Press:

In order to address the public health crisis in Flint, (click here) every Flint child under 6 years of age -- 8,657 children, based on an analysis of Census data -- should be considered exposed to lead.
The direction came earlier this week from the doctor who forced the state to acknowledge Flint’s lead problem and the state itself.
The exposure began in April 2014 after the city switched from using Detroit’s water system, which pumps water out of Lake Huron, to its own treatment plant, which drew water from the Flint River.
In recommendations to the state on Monday, Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha said all kids under the age of 6 should be treated with some kind of prevention actions....

Bouy, oh bouy, oh buoy. Have you ever just wanted to remain silent simply because of the pain you know it can cause. That is what I feel like right now. I don't want parents to be hurt any more than they already have. So, I've got to think a minute to put this in a way that is softer while still honest.

First of all these are beautiful and magnificent children. They live in Flint and the country already knows the moral content of Flint. Children grow up in Flint to be strong, educated and faithful to their own hopes and dreams.

When adults drink lead tainted water it is not a good thing. When understanding how lead effects each unique body is to know how it is utilized by the body. Lead is substituted for iron because the body cannot discern the difference. In adults there is a need for iron, an iron called heme iron is important to blood and the oxygen it carries.

People consume two types of iron: non-heme and heme (click here)
Non-heme iron comes primarily from plants and heme iron comes primarily from meat. Plants can contain tiny traces of heme iron but not enough to make a difference and as a rule, these plants are not types that we eat.

The body will utilize iron even if it is not heme-iron because it needs the iron. There will be an anemia with non-heme iron, but, not to the extent it would be otherwise. When lead is substituted in the body for iron it creates 'body function' problems like anemia, rashes and hair loss.

Adults are fairly well complete and don't really build body organs and nervous tissue. An adult is finished. An adult has all the organ tissue it will ever have. The exception of course is skin, hair and bone. Those are all organs as well. Skin is called the integumentary system, hair is primarily protein and a function of the integrumentary system and of course bone is the skeletal system.

The skeletal system is rather interesting. There are primarily two types of bone tissue and they are very vascular (lots of blood vessels). The skeletal system replaces itself about every six to eight weeks. The skeletal system actually has cells that tear down old skeletal cells and then replace it. That is why a broken bone heals in six to eight weeks.

Within the skeletal system, at the very center of a bone, are two other kinds of tissue called marrow. There is red and white marrow and they produce blood cells. Ready for this? Blood cells are destroyed in the liver and regenerated from the bone marrow. How often? Every six to eight weeks. Sorry, about that I made a mistake, adult blood cells are destroyed in the spleen. The liver accepts the destroyed blood cells for processing returning some of the cell to the body and the rest is excreted to the digestive tract for elimination.

But, that is getting too technical. What I want to have folks understand is that adults are effected by lead in the water but not the same way a child would be.

In adults it is the daily activities of cell biology that is effected that result in ill health. It is not the cells themselves effected. There may be some cells such as red bloods cells that have incorporated lead into their structure which causes a very bad anemia and lower concentration of oxygen in circulating blood. It is very serious, but, reversible. Adults can be made well again. Reasonably well.

In that reality of adults and their ability to reverse the poisons is why the thinking about lead always turns toward children.

Children have cell biology from the time of conception. As soon as that few days old inseminated ovum implants into the wall of the uterus there is cell production facilitated by the mother's nutrition. It is why the USA has programs like WIC to make sure mom's are getting all the nutrients they need. It is why expectant mothers are recommended to take special vitamins during their pregnancy.

In addition to cell biology, children grow their body tissues. In utero, they receive all their building blocks from mom. Lead can cross the placenta.

What I am saying is, the tissues of a child's body use iron to grow cells, some of which they will have all their lives. Children are highly impacted by lead, far more than adults.

There is a fatty layer of tissue called myelin that covers some of the nerve tissue the child has grown. That fatty layer acts like an insulator. It is the place where some victims of Multilple Sclerosis claim partial virus from vaccinations lie dormant until later in life and something triggers the myelin to begin to break down.

The myelin sheath is important, but, it does not CLOSE around the nerve tissue until the age of one. So every child exposed to lead under one year old is especially affected by lead. The myelin is not intact yet.

We all know from the marks on the wall how much growth we have experienced from year to year. Every birthday is another tick on the wall. Growth is cell formation including parts of bone with open growth plates can be effected. Like I said, the bone is very vascular. So, the longer the lead exposure the more a child will be effected. A one year old will be more effected than a fifteen year old.

Children need to be considered educationally challenged when exposed to these levels of lead. There is also a very good chance they will exhibit behaviors most adults would frown on. It has to be determined if medications are necessary or if behavior treatment is sufficient or if they will grow out of it and that is why DIET AND HEALTH is most important.

Now, don't think for one minute parents with children exposed to lead are alone in this world for the burden they carry over and above being a parent. The American society has made plenty of mistakes due to exposure to dietary issues.

Currently, there is an epidemic in children sensitive to gluten. Additionally, the number of autistic children in the USA has steadily been on the rise. There are also those parents who claim vaccinations caused issues with their children from an ingredient in the vaccine called thimerosal. A real connection between childern with disabilities and thimerosal has never been absolutely proven, but, parents claim it to be so and who am I to say they don't know their children the best.

This tragedy has happened to Flint. Evidently, it has happened to more than Flint. But, Flint is the spark that is going to cure this in the USA even if laws have to be written or changed to be sure this never happens again to any child OR their family.

Flint is on the map for many reasons, the least of which is being the heart of the first labor union. But, Flint is important also, today, because it now has some of the country's most precious potential to our brain trust. It is the challenge of this country to provide an excellent chance for these children to succeed and even to some of the most important institutions in government and the private sector as well. We have to make Flint a priority and be sure those children are in the scope of support as well as research.

It is up to the community of man, so to speak, in the USA to continue to remind the governments from local to federal this is the responsibility of the people and we need to succeed. That commitment and reminder needs to happen continually to keep these precious children under the radar and to know they are achieving the dreams they and their parents have for them. Those with conscience care and we will succeed.

If a dozen plumbers, at least half from Flint, were turned loose on the pipe in Flint, it would be done in no time.

PVC pipe is manufactured by several different companies. Caution to those PVC pipes that were on recall at one time or another.

I am sure there is a "Home Depot" near Flint. (click here) If purchased by a corporation like Home Depot they may be able to provide it at a lower cost in recognizing the need of the children of Flint. Don't forget the water fountains in the schools, too.

One the homes are refitted during colder winter days and the old pipe to Detroit is back in the hands of Flint, the plans for replacing the water mains in the street can take place just in time for warmer temperatures.

The people of Flint can be refitted no later than the beginning of summer.

Does the town have a public swimming pool? It needs new pipes, too. Or it might need a pool installed.

The plumbers get paid. They also join a union and get the help of that union to bring them work in Michigan once they are finished in Flint.

US EPA

Lead and copper (click here) enter drinking water primarily through plumbing materials. Exposure to lead and copper may cause health problems ranging from stomach distress to brain damage....

The revisions to the EPA law should be reviewed one more time, at least, before they are adopted. Maybe a new public comment period should be held again.

The Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) (click here) is a treatment technique rule. Instead of setting a maximum contaminant level (MCL) for lead or copper, the rule requires public water systems (PWSs) to take certain actions to minimize lead and copper in drinking water. These actions reduce water corrosivity and prevent the leaching of these metals from the premise plumbing and drinking water distribution system components. If those actions are not sufficient, the rule prescribes water quality parameter monitoring, corrosion control treatment, source water monitoring and treatment, removal of lead service lines and public education.

Revisions Being Considered

EPA is considering Long-Term Revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule to improve public health protection by making substantive changes and to streamline the rule requirements. EPA’s primary goals in considering LCR Long-Term Revisions are to:
- Improve the effectiveness of the corrosion control treatment in reducing exposure to lead and copper, and
- Trigger additional actions that equitably reduce the public’s exposure to lead and copper when corrosion control treatment alone is not effective....

There needs to be very strong deterrents to allowing the poisoning of the American people, like prison terms of those that short change them and the leadership that allows it.

Chris Hayes, shame on you. Why give it air time? No one wants it back, Chris.

Have you actually fallen in line with those propagandists? Isn't Flint enough to provide what America really wants to hear about?

First, Bush had dumped millions upon millions into his campaign. He started with a SuperPAC that should have sealed the deal already.

The Bush Bunch is trying everything they know, including, having Genna Bush on the Today show for a week. All I heard today during the Today program when a contest was among the public; "Where are you from?" Answer: Texas. The one loser was not from Texas. Interesting, huh?

Even Rubio is trying to advance the "Jeb!" cause, "We live in a country where...a president's son can run for office." Spare me. So much for the idea, Bush and Rubio aren't seeking to be the GOP ticket for 2016 and in that order.

I am looking forward to Iowa and the emergence of Bush 3 after paying off the people they needed to pay off. You know, wink, wink, "We got this, Jeb!" There is even an obscure poll stating Jeb! is hot on the heels of Trump so that when he wins in Iowa the poll can be pointed to as the real accurate poll. A new Zogby. It is amazing what Americans can do when they try. I've been around this block before.

At least Chris Christi has been working at being heard in New Hampshire for his aspirations rather than expect to be handed it.

Bush has been trying EVERYTHING, including mom and niece and Governor Snyder and the National Review and the old GOP, to get Donald Trump's attention and prove he is more than Donald could ever be.

Let's just get this out there and get this straight. The Bush Dynasty represents everything our country disdains, big oil, big pharma, big finance, China and exclusively Wall Street. We don't want 2008 back and believe me, it is beckoning for bailouts already. And as soon as Bush crosses the door of the White House, the Congress will write an AUMF that will make the Iraq war look like child's play, just as north Africa is stablizing. No, thank you.

...Because of George W. Bush’s close ties (click here) to Texas and connections with the oil industry, the Bush family is often perceived as a bunch of oil tycoons.
In reality, however, the oil industry is just one of many in which the Bush family displayed their financial expertise. The family tradition, which continues to this day, was founded upon the pursuit of riches through investment banking and wartime business ventures.
This is why the family has had a hand in businesses from Halliburton to Merrill Lynch, and also has a history of owning major league sports teams.
What is becoming more and more evident this election is the corruption of corporate media and it's willingness to manipulate the American people. I suppose the Iraq War was it's best trial of power. MSNBC has been playing 'Poor Jeb, let's give him a break." When he wins the White House MSNBC can say, "We are the preeminent Republican station."
No one wants this Chris. Think about it.

The fidelity thing is old news. Donald Trump already stated at least a week or more ago, that he spent a lot of time building his business and it preyed on his marriage.

It happens. People don't like to live a lie, especially women. No one actually knows what goes on in a marriage. At the level Donald Trump and his wife live in American society, it is small things that creates a place where a couple can move away from love. Whatever.

Does he support the militia in Oregon?

He is Tea Party.

Midland University President (click here) Ben Sasse on Tuesday won the Republican nomination to replace retiring Sen. Mike Johanns (R) this year. Democrats won’t contest the state this fall, making Sasse virtually a senator-in-waiting.
But before jumping to conclusions that the tea party beat the establishment, note that Sasse doesn’t fit neatly into the outsider construct. Here are 14 things to know about Sasse, a candidate with an unusually diverse resume that includes time working within the system:...

He'd like to take Ted Cruz constituency, but, he was born here.

No one is interested in killing people except those in the wildlife refuge.

Police officers have a right to defend themselves.

After eight leaders (click here) of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation were arrested Tuesday and spokesperson Robert "LaVoy" Finicum was killed, the remaining occupiers are still holding their ground.
They somehow have maintained enough Internet bandwidth to continue streaming video from inside the 187,000-acre refuge, located 30 miles south of Burns, Oregon in remote Harney County.
In one segment of a live broadcast that clearly appears to have been made within the refuge Tuesday morning, at least three armed occupiers kept watch for law enforcement.
"They're coming to kill us," one said into the camera as hundreds watched and commented on the YouTube stream....

Those inflammatory statements are made to drive others to the refuge. The law enforcement may need more than their current numbers. The Governor may have to consider the National Guard. I am sure no one wants dead officers.

Flint's problems were addressed in "The Atlantic" last July. What is it that Snyder didn't understand?

Why do these people have to continue to wait for clean water?

Flint, Mich.—Melissa Mays (click here) looks around the emergency room at a frail, elderly man in a wheelchair and a woman with a hacking cough and can’t quite believe she’s here. Until a few months ago, she was healthy—an active mother of three boys who found time to go to the gym while holding down a job as a media consultant and doing publicity for bands.
But lately, she’s been feeling sluggish. She’s developed a rash on her leg, and clumps of her hair are falling out. She ended up in the emergency room last week after feeling “like [her] brain exploded,” hearing pops, and experiencing severe pain in one side of her head.
Mays blames her sudden spate of health problems on the water in her hometown of Flint. She says it has a blue tint when it comes out of her faucet, and lab results indicate it has high amounts of copper and lead. Her family hasn’t been drinking the water for some months, but they have been bathing in it, since they have no alternative....

Vietnam is in an interesting neighborhood.

January 27, 2016

Hanoi, Vietnam — The Communist Party of Vietnam (click here) has chosen the incumbent general secretary as the country’s top leader for a second five-year term, the official Vietnam News Agency reported Wednesday.
The reappointment of Nguyen Phu Trong, 71, could slow the pace of Vietnam’s shift to a more open, market-oriented economy, but it is unlikely to alter its strategic balance in relations with China and the United States, analysts said.
Mr. Trong is a leader of the party’s old guard, which was trained in Soviet-style economics and has long seen neighboring China, Vietnam’s top trading partner, as a critical strategic and ideological ally. Notably, Mr. Trong appeared reluctant to criticize China when it deployed an oil rig in disputed waters in 2014....

A neighborhood that has been neglected by previous Presidents. This has been typical of President Obama's presidency. He takes the moral high road and brings opportunity for peace and prosperity.

The U.S. is stepping up efforts (click here) to help Laos deal with problems including hunger, unexploded ordnances and technology access for the lower Mekong.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry outlined the initiatives during a Monday visit to this capital city. He also talked about challenges outside of Asia, including the planned Syria peace talks.
He spoke with reporters after meeting with officials, including Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith.
The talks laid the groundwork for next month's special summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in California, which will be hosted by President Barack Obama....

I think this neighborhood has the potential to find instability without a more global involvement. Just consider some of the countries in this region of the world have an enormous number of nuclear weapons. It is pretty darn scary to a small country struggling to find quality of life for it's people. This area of the world is also impacted by the climate crisis. There are many reasons for the USA to find ways to help these people.

Senator John McCain has struggled for years if not a decade or more to bring better quality of life to the people of Vietnam. That should not be ignored and upto President Obama's international initiatives there has been very little attention to these smaller countries.

This region of the world has an organization to bring countries together in cooperation, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). It dearly does not need the exploitative agenda of the TPP.

This is an extraordinary event. Cambodia of all countries had a horrible human trafficking problem. It is well documented with Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times. A concern for more than a decade. And now today, the leaders of Cambodia are determined to protect their people from such horrible exploitation

Cambodia and Singapore (click here) have deposited their respective Instruments of Ratification for the ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children (ACTIP) with H.E. Le Luong Minh, Secretary-General of ASEAN. The ACTIP, which was signed by the ASEAN Leaders at the 27th ASEAN Summit in November 2015, demonstrates ASEAN’s commitment in addressing trafficking in persons as a regional problem and resolve to find the most effective regional solution to combat this problem.
The ACTIP, which is the first regionally binding instrument on trafficking in persons aims to prevent and combat trafficking in persons, especially women and children, and ensure just and effective punishment of traffickers; protect and assist victims of trafficking in persons with full respect for their human rights; and promote cooperation in the fight against trafficking in persons among the ASEAN Member States....

For decades Taiwan was the singular focus of the USA. That focus always came with the threat of war. The USA's relationship with Taiwan was never reassuring to the other small countries in the Pacific. The USA now has the opportunity to help with the climate crisis while growing economic and stable relationships.

I look forward to stable and good relationships with all these countries.

The Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea have collapsed fisheries. There is far more over growth of squid. All those reports about giant squid being found by fishermen for the first time is because of the fishery collapse.

The entire coastline of these countries rely on fishing to feed the people. About five years or so the news made it out of the region that the fisheries were gone and the only real food left in the region was squid. Squid reproduces quickly and in numbers that would cause such a collapse from overfishing. The squid lost it's predators and their population exploded.

We knew the giant squid were in the ocean, but, they usually flourished at depth. Sperm whales are the only species of whale I know of that actually dive to depth to feed on them. That square head of the Sperm Whales is primarily blubber. It collapses with water pressure and provides protection for the whales during those deep dives.

Not to make wide sweeping statements, but, when realizing the findings of giant squid by southeast Asian fishermen, there are sperm whales beaching in the North Atlantic. The idea this is related is not expected, but, one cannot simply look the other way to realize perhaps giant squid globally may be collapsing as well.

Three sperm whales (click here) that were stranded on the Lincolnshire coast are to be removed from the beach in Skegness in the next 24 hours.
The dead whales were found on the beach at the weekend and are believed to be part of the same pod as others found in Hunstanton, Norfolk, and Wainfleet in Lincolnshire.
Scientists who examined the whales found that they had been stranded alive and died after entering shallow North Sea waters in the hunt for food.
Tests are expected to examine whether they were from the same pods as sperm whales that had washed up on coastlines in Germany and the Netherlands in the past fortnight....

The oceans are in trouble. The oceans are a dumping ground. All that mess plus the effect on fisheries with rising ocean temperatures and some acidification the USA has a responsibility to address the collapse of these fisheries in southeast Asia with help in restoring them.

Senator McCain was attempting to help Vietnam by allowing their fish imports. The Vietnamese fish were not labeled well and were not widely accepted for some markets in the USA. The American people have a right to know about their food products. But, today even with improved labeling the Vietnamese fisheries may prove to have lost their ability to provide enough fish for export. The USA is needed in this area of the world and it doesn't need TPP to help. These countries could have trade agreements with the USA and it doesn't take large swaths of potential Wall Street IPOs. All it takes is the ability to market items in the USA and maybe even to specialty markets like the Non-GMO groceries.

What did Walmart ever do for Bangladesh?

Restoration of these fisheries may very well mean restoring onshore forests. Much needs to be assessed and plans in how best to proceed with restoration to provide good economies for the people. Most scientists I know are more than interested in working for these countries, but, the relationships just aren't there. This area of the world have some magnificent rainforests. Vietnam has never been the same since Agent Orange. A lot needs to be done.

That was rather long winded, but, it illustrates the need for productive relationships with this part of the world. Communism doesn't bother me. It seems to be a preferred form of government. That's fine. It is okay if change comes slowly if at all. That should not stand in the way of relationships of cultural, scientific and economic platforms.

I heard President Obama and Senator Sanders had a very productive meeting. I would not expect anything different.

The “Grassroots for Sanders” (click here) campaign organized around an online message board has raised over $1 million for Bernie Sanders.
The board, with over 150,000 subscribers, is a subsection of the online discussion site Reddit, which allows users to organize around topics. A Montpelier-based former grape picker, Aidan King, started the Sanders for President board in 2013, alongside David Fredrick. King now works with the campaign as a digital organizer.
Over $50,000 of the million came in during the 48-hour period surrounding Sanders' appearance on CNN's Democratic town hall forum, which aired Monday night. It took the board six months to raise its first half-million, but only about a month to raise the second....

Very important Americans have found a message they can accept as their own. It is amazing to me to realize how Bernie's message resonates. They needed him to coalescence their conscience. It is a great movement and validates the solid understanding of what America is all about. They are succeeding in bringing their message to a national stage. I am impressed. The generational span of Bernie's message is rather impressive. He is America.

There was never restrictions on the movement of the occupying people. From the beginning they were allowed freedom of movement.

Federal and state officials (click here) were restricting access to the Oregon refuge being occupied by an armed group after one of the occupiers was killed during a traffic stop and eight more, including the group's leader Ammon Bundy, were arrested.
The group, which has included people from as far away as Arizona and Michigan, seized the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge on Jan. 2. They want federal lands turned over to local authorities.
The confrontation came amid increasing calls for law enforcement to take action against Bundy for the illegal occupation of the wildlife refuge....

They refused to leave. They not only refused to leave, they broke into buildings and moved heavy equipment for a blockade and as a strategic point to kill law enforcement officers.

These people were armed. They also formed a militia with plans to bring more armed individuals to the park to bring about an end which included the deaths of law enforcement officers if they were interrupted.

They had no plans of leaving. They would have begun to build a small town inside the park.

They are very dangerous people that were also agitators to the local town(s) and county.  It has to end. Either it ended with dangerous people under control or it would have ended very differently that may have killed innocent people. This is nonsense. We don't live during the California gold rush, it is 2016 where laws exist to protect innocent people.

I might point out how FOX News and it's commentators backed these people. That isn't journalism, it is agitating hate from some strange idea of 2nd Amendment rights. This is what happens when a media service carries a dangerous message to our country. This should have ended in Nevada, but, here we are again. Was it 2nd Amendment Rights on the line? Of course not. These people were armed and they would have killed law enforcement officers as well as anyone else that got in their way.

It isn't as though the USA military is actually successful.

US special operations forces (click here) – not their Afghan allies – called in the deadly airstrike on the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Kunduz, the US commander has conceded.
Shortly before General John Campbell, the commander of the US and Nato war in Afghanistan, testified to a Senate panel, the president of Doctors Without Borders – also known as Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) – said the US and Afghanistan had made an “admission of a war crime”.
Shifting the US account of the Saturday morning airstrike for the fourth time in as many days, Campbell reiterated that Afghan forces had requested US air cover after being engaged in a “tenacious fight” to retake the northern city of Kunduz from the Taliban. But, modifying the account he gave at a press conference on Monday, Campbell said those Afghan forces had not directly communicated with the US pilots of an AC-130 gunship overhead.
“Even though the Afghans request that support, it still has to go through a rigorous US procedure to enable fires to go on the ground. We had a special operations unit that was in close vicinity that was talking to the aircraft that delivered those fires,” Campbell told the Senate armed services committee on Tuesday morning....

The reports about the President's plan to attack Libya wasn't even going to be presented to the American people. The USA military was simply making plans without anyone else's knowledge. I don't think so.

With all the focus on air strikes in Syria, (click here) the situation in Libya has been getting less attention in the UK. But David Cameron was forced to confront it this week when he was quizzed by MPs.
The prime minister promised, in September 2011, that he would not allow Libya to turn into another Iraq, but that, said senior Conservative MP Andrew Tyrie, is effectively what has happened in the four years since the toppling of long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Mr Cameron led international efforts, with France, to back rebels fighting to overthrow Gaddafi and impose a no-fly zone over the country, overcoming initial reservations from the EU and US President Barack Obama.
In a speech to cheering crowds in Benghazi's Tahrir square, after Gaddafi had been ousted, Mr Cameron said: "Your city was an example to the world as you threw off a dictator and chose freedom."
He added: "Your friends in Britain and France will stand with you as you build your democracy."...

World powers (click here) need to step up efforts to stop Islamic State gaining ground in Libya while keeping up the fight against the militant group in Syria and Iraq, France and Italy said on Thursday.
French President Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who met in Paris, expressed concern that instability in the North African country was providing fertile soil for IS to flourish, with Renzi warning that Libya risked becoming "the next emergency".
France is pushing for a grand coalition of world powers to destroy the militant group following the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris and Hollande, after meeting Renzi, spoke of the need for a Libyan government of national unity to end anarchy.

That grand coalition has already been made at the United Nations. The world already has agreed to fight Daesh within their borders. This problem in Libya is because there is an absence of a strong central government, which also plagues Syria.

While Renzi supported the idea of expanding the coalition against IS he did not commit Italy to providing any new military support to fight the group in Syria, where French warplanes are carrying out strikes on IS targets....

The global community has united. It is historic. I am sure President Obama was instrumental in this coalition. The only other such agreement seen with the global community was the recent Paris agreement on the climate crisis.

The Security Council today (20 November) (click here) unanimously approved a French-sponsored resolution calling on all nations to unite in the fight against Isis. A UN resolution was passed calling for decisive action against the "unprecedented threat" of The Islamic State by "all means" necessary.
The decision to back the French call for "international mobilisation" against IS comes exactly one week after militants launched coordinated gun and bomb attacks in the French capital, killing 130 people....

NATO wants stability in north Africa. The President has no AUMF. What does he think he is doing?

The President hasn't brought this before the country. He has no right to play with the military because he thinks he has reasons. Those soldiers are the sons and daughters of the USA. Knock it off.

He needs to address the country. Then the country can address their Congressmen and women.

...Administration officials (click here) say the campaign in Libya could begin in a matter of weeks. They anticipate it would be conducted with the help of a handful of European allies, including Britain, France and Italy. The planning is unfolding amid political chaos in Libya, which continues to reel from the aftermath of the 2011 civil war that ended with the killing of the country’s longtime dictator, Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi. In recent months the United Nations has struggled to persuade two groups of Libyan officials who claim to be the country’s rightful leaders to band together. On Monday, the parliament that is recognized by the international community rejected a unity government proposal brokered by the United Nations....

Britain, France and Italy are NATO. Remember this?

The assessment in Libya right now is 30,000 Daesh. This disgusting act of brutal power over "the human being" is a concern to the Mediterranean Sea. There is a significant economy that occurs in the Mediterranean, so why let this go on.

- Video seems to show (click here) militants in Libya holding one group of at least 16 captive on a beach and 12 others in a desert
- Before the killings a masked fighter in black brandishes a pistol as he vows to kill Christians if they do not convert
- Ethiopia unable to confirm its citizens were killed by militants in the footage but condemned the 'atrocious act'
- It comes two months after 21 Egyptian Christians were beheaded by extremists in a similar video from Libya

A shocking new video (click here) appearing to show at least 30 Christians being beheaded and shot by ISIS in Libya has been released.
The 29-minute video, titled 'Until It Came To Them - Clear Evidence', shows dozens of militants holding two separate groups captive, thought to be in the south and the west of the country.
At least 16 men, described by Islamic State as the 'followers of the cross from the enemy Ethiopian Church', are lined up and shot in a desert area while 12 others are filmed being forced to walk down a beach before being beheaded.
This follows another video in February of the beheading of a group of 21 Coptic Christians on the beach in Libya, though that terrain was rockier than the one shown in the latest film.
It raises fears that ISIS is consolidating its presence on the 'doorstep of Europe', as Libya is just a few hundred miles from the coast of Italy....

Daesh doesn't present a threat so much as a menacing presence. This menacing presence causes business and people to make decisions not usually made. So, the presence of Daesh is creating BEHAVIORS in the Mediterranean economy.

Additionally, Daesh just goes around as if people were a herd of animals, jails them, uses them as human shields and then assassinates them to increase any understanding of terrorist fears among innocent people.

These lives are important, too.
