If the DOD didn't authorize it, it doesn't belong at our country's border.

...“The State of Texas’s actions (click here) violate federal law, raise humanitarian concerns, present serious risks to public safety and the environment, and may interfere with the federal government’s ability to carry out its official duties,” the department wrote in a letter to Abbott on Thursday....

Eagle Pass (click here) became the first city to have a floating barrier in the Rio Grande River designed as another safety layer to the Texas border.

The new "wall" is made of massive orange buoys with connecting netting that stretches 1,000 feet. Each stretch of barrier cost the Texas government around $1 million dollars and it will take up to two weeks to complete....

Who's brother-in-law got the check?

Who collects the dead human bodies, animals and fish? It is a public heath hazard as much as a national security issue. It will get clogged with all sorts of debris from the river. If there is enough accumulation of garbage it could create it's own islands. Once the islands form, the path over the barrier will be easy.

There is a fairly large sediment transport by the Rio Grande because it's mouth into the Gulf of Mexico gets blocked. It is a project for the Army Corps (click here). The floating wall is going to compromise any efforts carried out prior to this and will cause flooding and human tragedy on both sides of it. Texas is going to be liable for it's use.

Who is going to be jailed for the human deaths it causes?

US Assessments of the genocide in Ukraine has yet to be wrong.

The truth is that the ports belong to Russia are used to export to the west of the country, including military supplies.

The National Security Council (click here) says that Russia is attempting a "false flag operation" to "justify any attacks against civilian ships in the Black Sea and to then blame them on Ukraine."

The declaration comes days after Russia backed out of a deal that helped move grain from Ukrainian ports, threatening global food supply.

NSC spokesperson John Kirby told reporters in a briefing Thursday afternoon that Russia may try to expand its targets in the Black Sea to attacks on civilian ships that are transporting grain and food.

"Russia has already announced publicly that all ships proceeding to Ukrainian ports in Black Sea waters will be considered potential carriers of military cargo, even though they are simply trying to pick up grain and food to be able to feed people around the world," Kirby said....

There are a lot of countries along the Black Sea; Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia. Moldova is near the Black Sea but has no direct water fronts with it. Putin will sink ships in order to begin a larger war while blaming Ukraine. He is a sincere global problem.

"We're seamlessly integrating our deterrence efforts to make a basic truth crystal clear to any potential foe," Austin said. "That truth is that the cost of aggression against the United States or our allies and partners far outweigh any conceivable gains."

This is no joke.

This book was written in 1978. Writing about the melting ice caps caused me to remember this title.

It is amazingly current in it's content in the social setting and political issues. They are hardly political issues, they are life and death issues. The character comments are spot on.

This book was written 45 years ago and we are all facing the same exact concerns today.

Why is it humans cannot get their minds around the FACT there are dangers in this world we can end and yet we don't? The power of money dominates the human experience and it is so powerful it can summon death of civilization.

Everyone on Earth should read this book.
