This is a group prom picture. How many of the young ladies were safe?
I suppose this could be a Nazi Club and I hope the investigation turns up the organizer and the members sympathetic to genocide. I also believe young men are banning together to be innocent of any accusation of sexual assault. That leads to the understanding of entitlement, creates victims of young men that lead to coercion. That is how Kavanaugh found his entitlement among his peers, "group think."
But, the idea a young man can be protected by other participants in what might be more than sexual assault, but, racial and or religious bigotry could lead to violence is extremely disconcerting.
I don't consider them innocent. Making the Nazi salute is a threat. While some are followers just to be followers, the leaders need a reason for the allegiance.

Male students' mass Nazi salute prompts investigation
Dozens of male students (click here) are being investigated by a Wisconsin school district after a photo of them doing a mass Nazi salute on the steps of a county court house circulated on social media.
The students have yet to be identified, but the school district is threatening legal action pending an investigation.
NBC 15 News, the local television affiliate, reported on Monday they called Baraboo School District for a response and to confirm that young men in the photo are infact students at Baraboo High School, but the school only responded saying it was preparing a press release on the incident....
The nineteen women Donald Trump sexually assaulted are still waiting to be heard!

Summer Zervos, (click here) right, with the lawyer Gloria Allred in January. Ms. Zervos, who claimed President Trump groped her in 2007, brought a defamation suit against him after he called her and other accusers liars.
This post was originally published in November 2017. It has been updated with additional harassment claims and public statements from Trump’s accusers.
A defamation suit filed by Summer Zervos, (click here) one of the accusers, has opened up the possibility that the women will get their day in court. Some have continued speaking out, hoping that away from the chaos of the election, people might be more willing to listen to their accounts. In December 2017 several women publicly aired their claims again, and called for a congressional investigation. “Let’s try round two,” said Samantha Holvey. “The environment’s different, let’s try again.”
For now, Trump seems entirely unfazed by the allegations hanging over him. Press Secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed recently that it is the White House’s official position that every single one of the women is lying, and Trump has not shied away from condemning other men accused of sexual misconduct (if they’re Democrats)....

The IDF certainly knows how to secure it's need. So much for progress, we are back to exploding buses.
One of the reports states a Hamas commander and an Israeli commander were killed. Does anyone think this hostility is something that should be a part of the landscape in Israel?
Why the raid? There was a ceasefire, that doesn't mean the IDF has the right to carry on as if there was no ceasefire.

The Hamas terror group’s (click here) military wing claimed responsibility on Monday for a massive barrage of rocket fire on the south and threatened to strike deeper into Israeli territory, after a bombardment of some 100 rockets injured several Israelis and prompted retaliatory airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.
“The joint command of Palestinian factions announces the beginning of bombardments of the enemy’s settlements with scores of rockets,” the Hamas military wing, the Izz ad-Din al Qassam Brigades, said in a statement....

And, of course, the F-35 is immune to solar activity, right?

Holloman Air Force Base -- Ninety-three million miles (click here) away from the Earth sits a fiery sphere of hot gas.
It’s 332,946 times the mass of Earth and has surface temperatures reaching 9,932 degrees, which is capable of disrupting satellites, power grids and even pilots flying at high altitudes. The sun launches these attacks arising from its surface with a massive burst of gas and magnetic fields called a coronal mass ejection.
The Airmen at the Holloman Solar Observatory are the hub of monitoring volatile solar activity and training others to do so as well.
"The Air Force has three solar observatories," said Master Sgt. Ronald Sherard, the chief of the Detachment 4, 2nd Weather Squadron. "We have one at Holloman, one in Learmonth, Australia and one in San Vito, Italy. Holloman is the focal point for the entire (Air Force) Solar Optical Observing Network around the world. Becoming an analyst with the 2nd Weather Squadron on the solar optical side means you will come to Holloman to receive training."
Although few in number, the Air Force solar observatories play a critical role in keeping the Air Force way of life running. A single solar storm could disrupt the Air Force way of life.
"We monitor the sun for solar activity, and we report any activity that occurs," said Staff Sgt. Erin O'Connell, a solar analyst with Det. 4, 2nd WS. "The information goes up to key decision makers who decide to deploy safeguard measures on satellites, power grids or to alert pilots in high-altitude aircraft."...

...As detailed in a now declassified U.S. Navy report, (click here) the event sparked an immediate investigation about the potential cause(s) of the random detonations of so many sea mines.
The sea mines deployed had a self-destruct feature. But the minimum self-destructs time on these mines was not for another 30 days, so something else was to blame.
On August 15, 1972, the Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, Admiral Bernard Clarey, asked about a hypothesis that solar activity could have caused the mine detonations.
Many of the mines deployed were magnetic influence sea mines that were designed to detonate when they detected changes in the magnetic field.
Solar activity was then well known to cause magnetic field changes, but it wasn't clear whether or not the Sun could cause these unintentional detonations....
No, the F-35 is not immune to solar activity. Trillions of dollars of USA taxpayer money and the lousy jet can fall out of the sky with unknown missile capacity. Amazing. Whoever sold us this piece of junk should be sued for every last dime. Being imprisoned for fraud and an assault on our national defense is too good for them.

Adolph Hitler: Man and monster (click here)

He was responsible (click here) for sending six million Jews to their deaths. But where little Rosa Bernile Nienau was concerned, Adolf Hitler seemed blind to his own warped ideology.
This astonishing photograph shows the smiling Nazi leader embracing the young Jewish girl - who referred to him as 'Uncle Hitler' and became known as his 'sweetheart' - at his Alpine retreat.
Personally inscribed by Hitler, the photograph was taken in the summer of 1933 at the Berghof - just six years before the outbreak of the Second World War....
1933: Rise of Adolf Hitler (click here)
With the appointment of Adolf Hitler as Chancellor on January 30, 1933, the Nazi Party took control of Germany. In October, German delegates walked out of disarmament talks in Geneva and Nazi Germany withdrew from the League of Nations. In October, at an international legal conference in Madrid, Raphael Lemkin (who later coined the word “genocide” ) proposed legal measures to protect groups. His proposal did not receive support....
The flower in the picture is Edelweiss. The flower was made famous decades later in a song from the Sound of Music.
Leontopodium alpinum (click here)
Hitler's official photographer embellished all that was precious about life to create a welcoming image to "der Fuhrer."
Edelweiss is strictly protected (click here) and may not be picked. It usually grows in limestone soil in mountain landscapes, on steep blue grass slopes and hills. Since Edelweiss often lives together with the alpine aster, it is easy to find when one focuses on finding the beautiful violet flowers with the yellow centres. Edelweiss is able to live on alpine meadows and can be recognised from a distance, because the flower often takes on a silver sheen in the light.
Edelweiss as a survivor artist
Edelweiss covered by dense hair. Thousands of tiny air bubbles collect in the fine hairs. They protect the flower from drying out and moreover from freezing. These air bubbles are the reason sunlight makes the Edelweiss appear illuminated. This sheen is also a signal for honey-seeking insects. The tiny hairs also protect the plants from harmful UV rays thanks to their unusual qualities....
This is a performance by Captain Georg von Trapp, a retired Austrian naval captain, and widower in a scene from "The Sound of Music." He was to be absorbed into the ranks of the Nazis. Shortly, after this performance, he, his family of children and their governess escaped preventing their involvement with the rising tide of hatred. Of course, in this scene, he would sing an endearing song to make him appear sympathetic to all that was Nazi. These performances by the von Trapp family enabled their escape.
The "Sound of Music" was first a play before it became a film. It was based in a real story, although romanticized a bit.
Between 1929 and 1939, (click here) Georg and Maria had three children together, as well as Georg's own seven children.
But it was the collapse of the bank holding the family's finances that was the spur behind their success as touring singing act, to Georg's embarrassment.
Anti-Nazi, the family did indeed flee Austria when the Nazi party sought to recruit Georg to the German navy. But they did not walk across the mountains to Switzerland — a journey of some 200 miles. Rather, they caught a train to Italy and then on to the United States. Their Austrian home became Heinrich Himmler's headquarters....

Trump was tweeting about Florida instead of honoring the dead from WW I.
Once again Trump is at the center of media attention because he is a bizarre leader. I suppose it is necessary when considering he was tweeting about Florida’s recount instead of attending a ceremony for WWI dead and making inflammatory statements in an attempt to INSPIRE more violence. I think this level of fear and hate mongering will continue for the next two years during the primary and general election seasons. The media needs to seriously decide if Trump is newsworthy or a vicious leader of hate.
I don’t believe he cares about police because his hate filled speech puts them in the direct path of danger rather than a country of domestic peace and tranquillity. Trump does not care about INSPIRED violence or the number dead or injured including police. He wants a police state and is determined to get it; Florida’s recount is a prime example. The other Republicans in Florida go right along with him to INSPIRE violence.
The Democrats have a lot of work to do and need to get on with it without getting tangled up in these hideous temper tantrums by Trump lead Republicans.

Palestinian media (click here) reports at least 7 killed, more injured, during Israeli operation in Khan Younis; IDF confirms ‘exchange of fire broke out’, rockets fired at south
Israeli special forces conducted a raid in the Gaza city of Khan Younis on Sunday night, apparently killing several suspected Hamas terrorists, including a senior commander in its military wing, and bringing the region back to the brink of war.
The IDF later confirmed that a special forces officer was killed and another injured in the raid. The military censor prevented news of the IDF officer’s death and the second officer’s injuries from being published until their families could be notified. The names of the soldiers were not immediately released.
The fighting set off a massive round of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, and at least a dozen rockets or mortar shells were fired at southern Israel. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced late Sunday he would return to Israel immediately and cut a trip to Paris short....

Whenever we hear of stars (click here) discovered that formed just after the Big Bang, they're very far away, in the far reaches of the visible Universe. But now astronomers have spotted something new: a star that's around 13.5 billion years old, right here in our own Milky Way galaxy....
...It's called 2MASS J18082002–5104378 B, and it could be one of the oldest stars in the Universe....And it's tiny - only about 10 percent of the mass of the Sun, right on the edge of the lower limit for hydrogen burning....
..."We've never discovered a star so low mass and made of so few grams of metals," astrophysicist Andrew Casey of Monash University in Australia told ScienceAlert....
