Their defense of Trump is not only pathetic but abandons the USA Constitution. The expression of support heard over and over today by anyone reaching for a "final straw" in protecting Trump was, "Ukraine received the munitions."
My reply is, "This time."
The ONLY reason Ukraine received the munitions is because of the Whistleblower. Otherwise, Trump would have gotten away with his little scheme to weaken Ukraine's defenses making in roads to increased dangers from Russia.
And I don't want to hear another word about how President Obama never did anything for Ukraine's military. Those statements are racist.
The figures below come from the beloved news station of Republican propaganda, FOX News.
...The Bush administration (click here) gave the least amount of aid to Ukraine, compared (so far) with the Trump administration and the Obama administration. During President George W. Bush’s eight years in office, from 2001 through 2008, the U.S. government provided about $1.1 billion to Ukraine, government figures reveal.Congress almost doubled the amount of aid provided to Ukraine during President Barack Obama’s eight years in the White House, supplying $2.1 billion.
The amount began to spike in 2010 -- the same year that Ukraine held a presidential election. But the biggest jump came between 2015 and 2016. In 2015, the U.S. gave about $314 million to Ukraine; in 2016, that skyrocketed to $523 million, 63 percent of which went toward the military.
The increase came almost two years after an incredibly tumultuous year for Ukraine, which was thrust into a violent revolution in February 2014 when pro-European, anti-Russian protesters marched in the nation’s capital, Kiev, ultimately overthrowing the Ukrainian government and pro-Kremlin leader.

Republicans are making the same excuse regardless of the numerous witness testimony. At this point with Republican questioning stagnating it is obvious this is about producing campaign film footage. There is nothing different by the Republicans. They have no interest in what the witnesses have to say.
Irregular Channel = Guiliani and acting in the best POLITICAL interests of Donald J. Trump. Guiliani was not acting as a personal attorney, hence, at the very least campaign finance violations.
Rep. Krishnamoorthi is attempting to enter 'legal doubt' into impeachment proceedings. That is not required. I don't know who the audience for that is beside the public and their ability to reflect on that statement.
Nunes is nonsense. The Whistleblower will never appear in a public hearing, that is a direct violation of the law that protects whistleblowers.
The American people need to come to terms with the reality that Republicans do not take their positions seriously and are more an actor on a stage rather than a sincere legislator interested in the best interest of the country.
This is the "Nelly Ohr" reference about the role she played in Fusion GPS and quite possibly sending emails to people in the DOJ, including her husband. She did not have classified information. She was data mining to benefit opposition research for the Clinton Campaign. It was her job. So, taking the romantic aspect out of the transactions, this is a Fusion GPS staff person working for a former intelligence agent. If they run across facts they find significant they pass it on to the DOJ. I am curious as to whether any of this open-source information helped connect the dots with Manaford and his convictions. If so then she did vital work for the USA government without being compensated by the government. It was all voluntary. Fusion GPS did what it needed to when finding open-source information about illegal activities with Paul Manafort.
...They clearly show that Ohr (click here) sent reams of open-source intelligence to her husband, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, and on some occasions to at least three DOJ prosecutors: Lisa Holtyn, Ivana Nizich and Joseph Wheatley.
The contents tracked corruption developments in Russia and Ukraine, including intelligence affecting Russian figures she told Congress she had tried to connect to Trump or Manafort.
“Hi Honey, if you ever get a moment you might find the penultimate article interesting — especially the summary in the final paragraph,” Nellie Ohr emailed her husband on July 6, 2016, in one typical communication. The article and paragraph she flagged suggested that Trump was a Putin stooge: “If Putin wanted to concoct the ideal candidate to service his purposes, his laboratory creation would look like Donald Trump.” Nellie Ohr bolded that key sentence for apparent emphasis....
There is no doubt this is questionable to the fact Nelly Ohr was married to a prosecutor in the federal system, yet why deny her capacity because she is a wife? In the USA, husband and wives have been CIA agents and Ambassadors at the same time and I am sure there were conversations Putin would love to be a fly on the wall.
She did nothing wrong and my guess is 336 emails provided information to an investigation otherwise they would not have been tolerated.
Right up to the end of the hearing today the Republicans are jockeying for political ads. It is ridiculous. The evidence to the wrong doing by Trump is overwhelming, the witnesses incredibly important as was their testimony and STILL the only thing Republicans care about is "B Roll." The USA needs to do something about congressional members that do little else except create their own platform for re-election. It is obvious. This is not to be tolerated.
Where is Republican's Viktor Shokin? Republicans like to use inflammatory statements as if they are true, but, when it comes to bringing witnesses that can validate their claims, the sources are corrupt or worse.
..Where did that “stopped the prosecution” allegation (click here) against Joe Biden come from? According to Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, it came from Viktor Shokin, who claimed in an affidavit that he was forced out by Joe Biden “because I was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into Burisma.”
So, why aren’t House Republicans demanding that Shokin testify either at the hearings or by deposition in Ukraine?
The reason almost certainly is that Shokin could be exposed as corrupt and his claim could be revealed to be a sham. There are no facts to corroborate Shokin; indeed, it isn’t even clear that Shokin ever actively investigated Burisma....
I have most of this information on the blog already by reading the Whisteblower complaint and/or the Special Counsel report.

Continued from previous entry regarding US House public hearings on impeachment of Donald Trump.
The fact Ambassador Taylor doesn't have answers to questions by Congress only proves he was not interested in running his own investigation of Trump, Guiliani and his cohorts. Ambassador Taylor was pursuing the reason why Ukraine was not receiving its needed munitions.
Once again, President Zelenskyy is not on trial here. President Zelenskyy was compromised by his dire focus of the defense of his country.
President Zelenskyy's character is not on trial here, he was compromised by Trump's demand for his participation in a scam about the Bidens.

...“Following the call with President Trump, (click here) the member of my staff asked Ambassador Sondland what President Trump thought about Ukraine,” Taylor said. “Ambassador Sondland responded that President Trump cares more about the investigations of Biden, which Giuliani was pressing for.”
It’s yet another damning revelation in the scandal, one that further debunks the president’s defenders’ argument that there was nothing to see here. And it’s momentous because it suggests that Trump was very personally involved in what Sondland was telling the Ukrainians....
These revelations by Sondland is after he decided he had a rush of memory.
The Ukrainians were KEPT IN THE DARK until the USA news organizations got the information otherwise.
The reason Ukraine was KEPT IN THE DARK about the cancellation of the aide otherwise they might have raise concerns to members of Congress or otherwise. The aid was LEGISLATED, so keeping Ukraine IN THE DARK about the munitions was vital to sabotage them to benefit Russia.
Ambassador Taylor didn't know about the CANCELLATION because he was pursuing the LACK OF RELEASE of the funding and munitions. He never doubted the aid wasn't forthcoming because he was KEPT IN THE DARK. That only PROVES Trump had his own agenda for Ukraine and was willing to abandon all of the USA's Constitutional authority of legislature until the funding deadline was over. Trump was acting on his own with his own supportive agenda to Russia.
In order to KNOW FOR CERTAIN when the Ukraine aid was canceled Trump would have to be a witness. The only thing that can be tracked is the ALARM of loyal employees who were responsible for questions by Ukraine and responsible for the national security of both Ukraine and the USA.
In his opening statement (click here) during closed-door testimony on October 3, Volker told lawmakers he was "never asked to do anything" he thought was wrong, "including by the president," but expressed concerns that the U.S. relationship with Ukraine was "getting sucked into a domestic political debate."
Volker said he raised concerns with "a number of people" from May to August 2019 about the role played in U.S.-Ukraine relations by Rudy Giuliani, the president's personal lawyer, and that he had never seen someone in a position like Giuliani's play a similar part in U.S. foreign relations.
Why is Mr. Volker's more valuable than anyone else? Why would Mr. Volker know what Trump was thinking about aid to Ukraine? He's a mind reader?
When are Republicans going to admit they haven't a leg to stand on? Never? Then it is all political posturing and they don't care about the USA Constitution.
I suppose Republicans are expecting to exploit viewership of the right wing media so they are providing B-roll for that purpose rather than actually finding dignity to uphold the USA Constitution.
President Obama is not on trial here. The USA's legislature that decided to provide aid and munitions is the SUBJECT here. TRUMP decided autonomously to end that legislated aid. Just that simple. Trump did not provide the support Ukraine needed.
THE STRONG SUPPORT CAME FROM THE USA LEGISLATURE, NOT TRUMP!
One more time. Trump interrupted legally legislated aid to Ukraine. TRUMP ENDANGERED UKRAINE IN THE FACE OF LEGISLATED SUPPORT!
Trump signed the legislation BECAUSE he knew he could do otherwise later within the power of the office he was holding.
It was stated in this hearing by the Republicans that Trump was holding aid to other countries as well. Well, thank goodness for Democrats that question why, when Republicans aren't interested as to why.
The telephone call between the two presidents was the impetus of the investigation and the facts lead to impeachment hearings. It is yet realized whether there would be articles of impeachment out of these hearings. The Whistleblower complaint is factual and is alarming enough, but, the transcript of the phone call is factual and is more alarming and backs up the complaint. Then with an initial investigation under tight security bringing forth witnesses equally alarmed and able to witness to the facts of the Whistleblower carries extremely serious brevity to impeachment. It is not the fault of the American people and it's government finds Trump's methods as inappropriate, alarming and threatening.
No one is disputing the authority of any president to remove an ambassador, this hearing is about Trump's inappropriate use of the power afforded him. The Constitutional authority of the presidency is not in question, it is the abuse of that authority that is in question. Are Republicans really this obtuse? I think the Republicans on the committee just want to hear "That is correct" from a witness for good B Roll.

The inauguration committee?
Trump was wronged?
What?
The Republicans are not accurate about the facts. THERE IS A LETTER that is damning to Trump. They are also lying. Trump was responsible for violating the national security of Ukraine, hence, NATO and the USA.
Holding up aid to other countries has to be in question as well. Trump doesn't like spending federal money, especially when it comes to OTHER COUNTRIES.
Further investigation of Trump has to take place.
The fact the US Congress was able to open up the channels for military assistance to Ukraine does not make Trump's crimes less important.
THE UKRAINE AID WAS HELD UP. IT IS A KNOWN FACT. THERE IS NOTHING PARTISAN ABOUT THAT FACTS!
Ukraine did not interfere in the 2016 elections. The information about the "black ledger" was news and needed to be reported. Those reports removed Trump's corrupt campaign manager, Paul Manafort. The "black ledgers" proved Manafort broke the law. The reporting was pertinent to the USA elections as any other news article printed in the USA.
President Zelenskyy denies all that is necessary to deny to ensure the national security of his country. The US Senate has already stated they will not take the trial seriously and will seek to dismiss the proceedings. That reality weighs on ALL the relationships with the USA by other countries considering the level of corruption that exists with Trump's White House.
The Republicans should not be bringing President Zelenskyy's statements into the hearings because he is compromised and his statements are to protect his country.
Ms. Chalupa has a DC organization and is a ready candidate for blame.
...The investigation provoked a firestorm in 2017 (click here) and prominent Republicans such as Sen. Chuck Grassley publicly accused Chalupa of working with Ukraine, the DNC and the Clinton campaign to undermine Donald Trump’s candidacy.
Why would they ask her to go to Ukraine? The Bidens? Joe wasn't even a candidate then.
Chalupa denied the claims, telling CNN she was a “part-time consultant” during the 2016 US election and said DNC officials never asked her to “go to the Ukrainian embassy to collect information.”
“I was not an opposition researcher for the DNC, and the DNC never asked me to go to the Ukrainian Embassy to collect information,” she said in July 2017....
The Republicans are attempting to change the rules of the US House as the investigations are occurring. That is highly corrupt.

I believe it is vital. The current public hearings before the American people have nothing to do with the Special Counsel report. This is simply the continued disregard of the US Constitution by Trump and his White House.

Trump has abandoned the USA Constitution and instituted his own personal authority for that of the Executive Branch of the USA.
It is very clear to me by the statements of the two witnesses that Donald J. Trump has abandoned the infrastructure of the USA for a closed inner circle with questionable sources of advice including that of Vladimir Putin.
Yes, that was abandoned. Trump has appointed himself the only authority that matters in the Executive Branch and has left the infrastructure of the government intact as a deception to the American people. If Trump came into office and immediately dismantled the Executive Branch of the USA he would immediately be impeached and removed from office.
The testimonies of the two witnesses thus far is very worrying. When an Ambassador is earnest in his need to resolve a circumstance he or she considers vital to the USA national interest, THAT MUST CARRY BREVITY. There should be no "Trump Circus" to CLEARLY OBSTRUCT those insights to the Ambassador in service to the USA.
Trump will no doubt rely on the "idea" that a Deep State was disloyal to the country and needs to be terminated at any level of authority.
The reason the Ambassador to Ukraine was very highly qualified in his position is to INSURE a profound an abiding loyalty to the USA Consitution. The stark difference between the demeanor of Bill Taylor and that of Gordon Sondland when it comes to the issue of protecting Donald J. Trump is very notable. Ambassador Taylor did not lie to the USA government.
Ambassador Taylor and all others that have been painfully truthful to the USA House are among the finest people this country can rely on and that is what is important above any idea of a TRUMP CREATED "Deep State."
I am aware the DOJ Inspector General will be releasing a document soon that reviewed the decisions and evidence leading to the Special Counsel's investigation. It, however, sounds as though there is no such assessment of the Bill Bar office in relation to attempts of obstruction of justice and his 2-page letter. That is a second investigation that needs to take place to complete the picture.

Absolute anonymity
The only way the absolute anonymity can be secured so absolute confidential meetings can be held is on a USA military base used for such purposes where the security of road access and air access is controlled.
There is no reason to meet with the Whistleblower if he/she is unable to come forward to testify. Every answer would have to be investigated further to find the truth the Whistleblower answered. In other words, a single source is questionably accurate without additional evidence.
The public hearings today are the work of the US House Intelligence Committee that has VALIDATED the Whistleblower facts in the reporting of a four-page document. The TRUTH is before the USA public today and in the weeks to come.

George Conway, (click here) a conservative attorney and the husband of Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, this week said that President Donald Trump committed "perjury" by lying to former special counsel Robert Mueller under oath about WikiLeaks.
Former Trump campaign aide Rick Gates told a court on Tuesday that Trump did discuss WikiLeaks with Roger Stone during his 2016 presidential campaign despite the president claiming in sworn written answers to Mueller that he doesn't remember doing so.
"I do not recall discussing WikiLeaks with him," Trump wrote to Mueller's team. "Nor do I recall being aware of Mr. Stone having discussed WikiLeaks with individuals associated with my campaign."
"Trump denied in writing and under oath to Mueller any recollection of ever discussing WikiLeaks with Stone or being aware of Stone discussing WikiLeaks with the campaign," national security lawyer Bradley P. Moss wrote on Twitter after Gates' testimony. "Gates testified he was in the car with Trump when he Trump talked to Stone about it."...
