There is nothing saying the President can’t hire or fire. However, mass layoffs creating danger to national security in any form is illegal. No president can plunge the country into chaos. 

The Legislature sets the budget and laws if the USA, mass changes must take place within the authority of Congress, not the executive branch.

This is the climate crisis. It is highly volatile. This meteorologist does an excellent job of understanding the dynamics.

This is very unusual, but, becoming more common. No different than western North Carolina had an upper atmospheric disturbance that was new to our troposphere which literally exploded the mountain tops. 

This storm over Kerrville was literally a micro-hurricane/tropical storm. That is an astounding reality. Once the micro-hurricane over the river occurred the larger system (MCV) increased the turbulence, added to the rainfall, and caused catastrophic flooding that carried debris into a flood plain that had experience with flash floods.

That land has never experienced any storm as intense as this regardless of it's history of flash floods. This was more than a flash flood, this was a micro-hurricane.

The lead in to prediction of these systems are more like that of tornadoes rather than hurricanes or thunderstorms.

Americans have to get used to the idea that there is a climate crisis causing catastrophic events. The tragedy in Texas was in the lowlands. The tragedy in western North Carolina began at the mountain tops. The respect these storms require is significant. The evacuation has to be anticipatory because the critical warning system is too short to effect an evacuation that saves lives.

Again, the warning system has to be anticipatory rather than actual. People have to respect the warning and move away from the danger. Americans have become to resistant to move when a danger is called. These are not Category Four or Category Five storms. They are not as scary in the initial understanding of the danger. However, they demand far more respect than they are getting and people must change their way of thinking when it comes to evacuation. ANY potential must be respected. ANY POTENTIAL. Being a TOUGH AMERICAN is not being a smart American. These storms will not simply pass and everyone will be okay. They are highly volatile. They are very dangerous.

Anytime there is rain of any kind following wildfires the chances of land instability is greater. Land slides can occur as well. People need to understand the relationship of land and water that allow danger. Perfectly wonderful places can turn into nightmares for climate conditions comprising paradise. 

In New Mexico we are missing a father and his two children because of unrealized danger. My sincere condolences to all family and friends of these people who will be missed by the community. Adults are missed at work, their place of worship, and the neighborhood. Children are missed by all that touched their lives; parents, playmates, teachers, pastors, family, and friends.

Tragic loss is so much more than a sad statistic.
