Hamas has no agency to make these promises. It is why the other Arab nations are involved. Hamas has no facilities, personnel, or any other capacity/capability to carry out the demands placed on it to ensure the best outcome.
Israel seems to appear to realize there is vast devastation and is asking Palestinians to help resolve the missing bodies or if possible living people. This is why Hamas is wrong to kill anyone that has assisted Israel to an end which is supposed to result in peace. Everyone is pulling in the same direction to the same best outcome. Hamas cannot deliver its promises alone.
Hamas needs its advisers from Egypt and other signatory to the ceasefire. The signatories know what is going on and seeks the best outcome for the Palestinians. The signatories are in touch with the USA. The USA is in touch with Israel. Israel is not a signatory.
This is a very complicated ceasefire with a lot of moving parts. The signatories want to continue to build to a peace agreement. It is possible but it requires a great deal of work from the signatories to keep it moving forward. The Palestinians can trust the other countries’ representatives if they are at all available.
HAMAS needs to stand down and remain vigilant of their allies as expressed in the ceasefire. They are completely unable to carry this forward alone without a great deal of failure. Failure should not be an option with Hamas.
It appears Israel is trying. That is a great deal of hope. I wish all parties a great deal of luck. It would be helpful if Palestinians were ALSO represented by new people from within their population not affiliated with Hamas that holds the true spirit of the ceasefire dear to their hearts.
