The GOP is scared of their own program. They are attempting to separate the two bills to make the overall spending looks less.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican leaders hoping (click here) to recover from an embarrassing defeat on the House floor last month are preparing to split a massive farm bill in two and put it up for a vote as early as Thursday.

The GOP House leadership released a smaller version of the five-year bill late Wednesday, dropping a politically sensitive section of the legislation that would have made small cuts to the $80 billion-a-year food stamp program. Republicans are divided on how big cuts should be to food stamps, which have doubled in cost in the last five years. Democrats have opposed any cuts....

... Farm groups and anti-hunger groups have warned that separating the farm and nutrition programs after decades of linking them would be misguided. Rural lawmakers have long added money for food stamps to the farm bill, which sets policy for agricultural subsidies and other farm programs, to gather urban votes for the measure....

When is there going to be a new Chairman of the Fed?

...The Australian dollar has leapt almost 2 US cents after Federal Reserve boss Ben Bernanke said the central bank was not going to turn off its supply of easy money for the recovering US economy.
The local currency took flight on the comments, beginning a gain from 91.2 US cents at 6.45am to 92.97 US cents shoirtly before 9am. Earlier the Aussie was threatening to fall below 91 US cents.
Speaking at a conference in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Mr Bernanke also warned that the full impact on the economy of steep government spending cuts initiated in March was yet to be seen, underscoring the need for more Fed support.

"The overall message is accommodation," Mr Bernanke said. He said that a "highly accommodative policy is needed for the forseeable future."...

Bernanke is going to continue to print money. The USA GDP does not prop up the value of the USA dollar to be printed in these numbers. The dollar is going to lose value if this continues. The economic growth is not there to justify Bernanke's free for all.

...The Australian dollar has strengthened quite substantially, and it's been directly related to the US dollar," ANZ currency strategist Andrew Salter said.

"The US dollar has weakened substantially following [US Fed chairman Ben Bernanke] Q&A and a speech, and also following the release of the Fed minutes."...

This is my take. The reason the USA dollar has produced a high value yield is because the recovery globally has been slower. That does not mean the USA dollar will sustain continued exploitation by printing more money. When the other economies begin to cover at a faster rate than the USA, the US Dollar will plummet. When the import dense USA loses value on it's dollar inflation will result. The USA dollar will start to purchase less from other economies as they recover. The purchase of the Aussie Dollar is a direct reflection of that reality.

Bernanke needs to close out these quantitative easing programs. It is borrowing against the future. It was a hedge against economic slowing, but, there has to be an end to allow the currencies to stop their fluid movement. The US Dollar will lose value. The GDP does not justify the continuation of these programs.

Two US Senators are convinced the forced feedings at Guantanamo are inhumane.

Two leading Democratic senators (click here) on Wednesday asked President Barack Obama to order the Pentagon to stop routinely force-feeding hunger strikers at the U.S. Navy base at Guantánamo and adopt a model that feeds out of medical necessity, like in the federal prison system.

The letter by California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who toured the detention center last month, and Illinois Sen. Richard Durbin directly challenged a U.S. military claim that the so-called “enteral feedings” at the remote prison in Cuba were both humane and modeled after the federal Bureau of Prisons.

The senators invoked a judge’s ruling Monday that called Guantánamo’s forced feedings “a painful, humiliating, and degrading process.”

Prison commanders have defended Guantánamo’s policy of hunger-strike management through forced feeding as a system designed to deny captives the ability to starve in U.S. custody....

Wal-Mart said it will halt plans for three stores in the nation's capitol after the D.C. Council approved a bill that boosts minimum wages paid by large retailers by nearly $5 a hour."

Nothing has changed from our perspective: we will not pursue Skyland, Capitol Gateway and New York Avenue and will start to review the financial and legal implications on the three stores already under construction," said Steven Restivo, spokesman for Wal-Mart, after the Council approved the vote on Wednesday afternoon. "This was a difficult decision for us - and unfortunate news for most D.C. residents - but the Council has forced our hand."

Restivo told ABC News the company would reconsider if Mayor Vincent Gray vetoes the bill. Mayor Gray has 10 days to sign the bill, veto it or let it pass without his signature...

The challenge of tomorrow awaits the District of Columbia to actually find a way to grow small businesses and e\entrepreneurs to expand economic growth.

This is actually one of the best examples of GOP economics, so if I may?

Imagine not having ideas for economic growth. I mean none. Everything is static as it was with the Bush/Cheney economy. Everything is made cheap and imported from China with retailing the only industry defining the American economy.

Now, with a completely retail economy, how then do you grow it? Where is expansion?

I rest my case to the idea the Republicans are oppressive of Americans and any type of ambitious lifestyle of innovation and invention.

There just ain't any thing better than a content heifer at home and a completely confident Wall Street to rule the world.

Why spend money on education when it isn't really needed after all?

It doesn't matter who started the fight.

It doesn't matter who was on top and who was on bottom.

It doesn't matter who was yelling for help.

The entire set of circumstances leading to an innocent seventeen year old murdered in the courtyard of his father's home was aggravated by Mr. Zimmerman. Mr. Martin's actions are mute to the aggressions of Mr. Zimmerman.

If the shoe was on the other foot and Mr. Zimmerman was dead, the worst Mr. Martin could be charged with is aggravated manslaughter if not simply self-defense.

Mr. Martin was fighting for his life with a man that had his weapon out of the holster.

The entire defense for Mr. Zimmerman was to influence the jury, not reveal the truth. Mr. Zimmerman complains he is aggrieved in his case by racist demands for Florida to bring charges. He aggravated the entire situation and yet he is innocent of any violence or responsibility. There are not two separate crimes, there is only one.

I was very sorry to hear of the sudden delicate condition of Teresa Heinz Kerry. I am sure she was looking forward to being a vital part of the travels of Secretary Kerry.

She is such a vibrant personality and so full of life, this set back since her cancer diagnosis in 2009 must be a horrible disappointment to her and the family.

I hope there will be a good outcome soon.

The US Emergency Alert System, (click here) which interrupts live TV and radio broadcasts with information about national emergencies in progress, is vulnerable to attacks that allow hackers to remotely disseminate bogus reports and tamper with gear, security researchers warned.

The remote takeover vulnerability affects the DASDEC-I and DASDEC-II application servers made by a company called Digital Alert Systems. It stems from a recent firmware update that mistakenly included the private secure shell (SSH) key, according to an advisory published Monday by researchers from security firm IOActive. Administrators use such keys to remotely log in to a server to gain unfettered "root" access. The publication of the key makes it trivial for hackers to gain unauthorized access on Digital Alert System appliances that run default settings on older firmware....

In the Republican primary to see who would face off against Democratic Rep. Walt Minnick, Raul Labrador ran to the right of his very conservative opponent who was endorsed by Sarah Palin and the NRCC. Labrador rallied support from Religious Right and Tea Party groups in order to upset Republican Vaughn Ward, whose campaign imploded, and he went on to defeat Rep. Minnick.
Labrador made his right-wing views clear when he announced his campaign in an email “to a former Idaho blogger known for his extreme conservative views.” He supports withdrawing the US from the United Nations, returning to the Gold Standard, and eliminating the Department of Education. Labrador even wants to repeal the 17th Amendment and end the right of voters to elect their Senators, bizarrely saying that it is “the constitutional position to take” and the only way to make sure “that US Senators are actually beholden to the people.”
In the State House, Labrador said he will work “tirelessly to defund and repeal Obamacare” and spearheaded the passage of a bill which compels the Attorney General to challenge the health care reform law in federal court and bars the government from mandating coverage. When speaking to radio talk show host Laura Ingraham, Labrador maintained that the law was “historic, but remember, Benedict Arnold was also historic, he betrayed our nation. And I think the Democratic Party betrayed our nation yesterday as well.”

Tsarnaev is facing the death penalty.

Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (click here) has just arrived to federal court -- in a plain white van -- where he will be arraigned for the April 15 attack.

According to WHDH in Boston, Dzhokhar's van was accompanied by a motorcade -- presumably to keep the bomber safe.

Prosecutors believe Dzhokhar and his scumbag brother executed the horrific Boston Marathon bombing, which killed 3 people -- including an 8-year-old boy -- and injured more than 260 others.

The families of the victims are also expected to appear in court.

During the hearing at a federal courthouse (click here) in Boston, Tsarnaev, 19, is scheduled to hear the 30-count indictment against him, which includes charges of killing three people in the twin blasts near the marathon’s finish line, including an 8-year-old boy. He could face the death penalty.

US federal prosecutors have reserved space in the courtroom for victims of the attack, which left more than 260 people wounded, many of whom are now missing limbs.

“It has been incredibly hard to accept what happened to my boys,” Liz Norden, who has two sons who each lost a leg in the attack, told ABC News. “I'm angry. I want to be there.”

Tsarnaev has also been charged in the slaying of a police officer at the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as police chased him and his brother, fellow suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in a frantic manhunt days after the bombing.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed during a shootout with police in the Boston suburb of Watertown, while Dzhokhar suffered nonfatal wounds and was apprehended on April 19.

Russian law enforcement authorities have been cooperating with their US counterparts in the investigation of the brothers, ethnic Chechens whose family roots lie in the turbulent North Caucasus region of southern Russia.
In 2011, Russia asked the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to interview Tamerlan Tsarnaev over concerns relating to his interest in “radical Islam.” However, an FBI statement said that it “did not find any terrorism activity, domestic or foreign,” after questioning Tamerlan and members of his family at that time.

Former CIA employee Edward Snowden, (click here) who is wanted in the United States for leaking secret state surveillance programs, has denied supplying information to the Russian or Chinese governments, according to a report in Britain’s Guardian newspaper.

"I never gave any information to either government, and they never took anything from my laptops," Snowden said as part of interviews conducted Tuesday and Saturday with the Guardian.

The comments from Snowden are the first time the fugitive intelligence contractor has spoken publicly since he arrived in Moscow on a June 30 flight from Hong Kong.

The interviews with Snowden, 30, were conducted online via a “secured chat channel,” Glenn Greenwald, the Guardian journalist who spoke with him, told RIA Novosti. Greenwald is closely linked with Snowden, and was one of the original few journalists to whom Snowden leaked information.

The presence of Snowden in both Hong Kong, a part of China, and Russia has prompted much speculation that he may be cooperating with the security services of the two countries.

President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia’s intelligence agencies never worked with Snowden and were not working with him during his stay at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport.

Wikileaks, whose representative Sarah Harrison is reportedly accompanying Snowden, has also denied that Snowden was giving information to Russian officials.

Snowden, whose passport has been revoked by the US, is wanted by Washington on charges of espionage and theft and property charges.

Despite the efforts of dozens of reporters who have scoured Sheremetyevo, Snowden has not appeared in public, or spoken to journalists, since his arrived in Moscow.

But Russian officials have repeatedly said that Snowden, who reportedly does not have a Russian visa, remains in the Moscow airport.

“Mr. Snowden is in the transit zone on the basis of international law,” Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko told journalists on Wednesday.

The scandals drummed up by the GOP regarding the IRS has no basis in all the facts. But, it serves one purpose and that is to undermine the IRS through underfunding.

Underfunding the IRS prohibits collection of taxes and policing returns to increase the Treasury. It also inhibits the ability of the IRS to implement new laws and regulations.

Secretary Sibelius better be meeting with the IRS for implementation of the Affordable Care Act on a weekly basis until it is implemented. If she did that since the day it was passed, there would be no waivers and postponements. The inability to implement these new laws is directly her negligence. She is a former governor and there is absolutely no excuse for the mess she has created.

...The growing IRS targeting scandal (click here) will prevent the IRS’ scheduled implementation of Obamacare from being sufficiently funded, even though the agency will have sweeping brand new powers to enforce President Obama’s health care law, according to experts.
“The IRS has 47 separate powers under Obamacare. That’s a problem for the IRS because it is mired in scandal. Congress understandably is not moved to do more on [funding IRS enforcement of Obamacare] right now, so the Obama administration does not have the money

they were hoping for for implementation,” Ryan Ellis, tax policy director of Americans for Tax Reform, told The Daily Caller.
“The Obama administration has requested increases in their budgets for the last few years for IRS enforcement for Obamacare. That money was not freed up due to sequestration and other things. But the scandals sealed it. If there was going to be any political possibility that Congress would approve an increase in the IRS’ budget for enforcement, that’s gone now. The IRS is going to be lucky to get away with anything but a freeze,” Ellis said....

They are seeking to illegitimately influence the jury because they don't have a case. This is a manufactured defense. The prosecution has to address this level of deception of "Before and After" in closing comments.

Part of the idea that George Zimmerman was too physically incompetent to actually take on Mr. Martin provides the image of a man cautious about his neighborhood and his position as Neighborhood Watch Captain. He was the victim because he could not conceive of being the aggressor; he simply was too physically incompetent to carry out any approach to a strong, black teenager. He would know up front that a fight with Mr. Martin would result in his pummeling; so why would a reasonable person responsible for vigilance of other's property do beyond calling the police unless it was direly necessary.

Basically, the obesity of George Zimmerman is an image he can live with. George Zimmerman has been obsessed with his image since he shot Mr. Martin; to the public for many reasons including fund raising. He wants to be the "Stand Your Ground" person victimized by racism. He wants to be a sympathetic figure. His defense team has continually exposed the news media with information about Mr. Martin's so called "Dark Side" to effect Mr. Zimmerman's image to the public. Those exposures were for one purpose ONLY and that was influence a jury pool believing Mr. Martin was a horrible human being that deserved what he got.

``Shotguns--Autoloaders

It's a bit of a misnomer, (click here) as "autoloading" shotguns don't actually load themselves. They reload themselves. Most autoloaders have a tubular magazine that will hold three or more shells. Combined with a shell in the chamber, this means quite a lot of firepower.

Autoloading shotguns are either gas operated or recoil (inertia) operated. In gas operation, a port in the barrel allows some of the rapidly expanding gasses from the shell's firing to escape and operate a piston that operates the automatic loading action. In an inertia/recoil system, the force of shell being fired drives the action. Recoil operation, in a well-made shotgun, is ultimately more reliable than gas operation, but can feel a little more sharp to the shoulder. If a repeating gun is the right tool for the job, but the shooter has any worries at all about the reliability of an autoloader (or the price feels a little steep), a pump-action gun is a solid choice, if not always as elegant.

In recent years the two-letter code has usually been enclosed in a rectangle. On shotguns, the mark is usually found on the bottom of the barrel. It may be necessary to remove the forearm, and sometimes to remove the barrels from the receiver, in order to expose the mark. I have also seen the date code on the bottom of the frame (receiver) of a semi-automatic, but I have never seen it on the receiver of a break-action gun.

On recent pistols the mark is usually located on the frame near the trigger guard, and for older pistols the mark is on the slide or on the frame behind the grip area.

In some cases the actual date in Arabic numerals may be used, or a combination of Roman and Arabic numerals. For example, 1972 is usually represented by XXVIII, but in a few cases it may be written XX8 or as 1972. Also, during the years 1945-1953, some Berettas may be marked with Arabic numbers 1-9 rather than Roman numerals I-IX.

During the years 1935-1943, before the National code system was enacted, some Berettas were marked with the Roman numerals XIII (1935) through XXI (1943). Thus, guns bearing those Roman numerals may need additional evidence to establish the year of manufacture. Beretta used no date code in 1944.

It is not clear to me when firearms by Italian manufacturers other than Beretta began to be marked with date codes - it may have been as late as 1954, with Roman numeral X.

There is no basis for this lawsuit. Sheriffs in Colorado are politically appointed.

I've examined the dynamics of guns on this blog more than was ever necessary to come to an understanding as what separates legal and illegal guns. This is all political. The words are not ambiguous at all. If the gun has a clip that can be readily converted to hold more than 15 rounds IT CANNOT BE SOLD. There is no confusion in those words.

...Sheriffs in 54 of Colorado’s 64 counties (click here) filed a lawsuit in May seeking to overturn both laws, arguing that they violate the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. But it’s the magazine limit that will be under scrutiny when U.S. District Judge Marcia Krieger hears arguments on whether to grant a preliminary injunction on the law while the lawsuit advances. A written ruling will be issued later.

Both laws took effect July 1. Most of the sheriffs behind the lawsuit represent rural, gun-friendly parts of the state.

The lawsuit contends the magazine law lacks clarity because it bans magazines that are “designed to be readily converted” to hold more than 15 rounds....

This is where ANY Sheriff's department needs to keep their focus and not playing politics with voters.

When this level of LETHALITY reaches the public and regularly results in the
death of citizens and police; legislators are obligated to take action to stop it.

Additionally, we already know there can be regulation of guns in the USA by court precedent. There is no legal reason to carry out a lawsuit without substance except politics.

This weapon has no place on the streets of the USA. Background checks and limiting the weapons in cities is required to bring down death rates in the USA. What is an AK-15 and a school full of children doing in the same place?

Men have no clue what it is to 'Be a Woman." This is a very interesting reaction.

I believe the point to this is that a woman is dependent of physical attributes to get attention by both men and women. That is a hurdle sometimes difficult to get past. So, while a woman can be successful, it is very different in achieving that success than for men.

The COST of being attractive is also a hurdle. When I speak publicly the cost of preparing for that is more than interesting. Forbid I should not appear to be as perfect as the world I try to defend. The message can be lost to the audience without attention to detail. A Conservationist or Environmentalist is AUTOMATICALLY an enemy to the public in asking to prohibit projects that endanger species or add greenhouse gases to the troposphere. The expertise is not enough, those able to speak to our troubled climate are enemies before they enemies before they are even known. All that has to be overcome before the public finally hears the message. That is especially true as a woman.

Men, for the most part, accept a larger scale differences in size and attractiveness in their social interactions. If one accepts that premise there is a sincere problem within the definition of 'success for women.' Add to that removal of compete, unquestioned, private and safe choices in contraception and abortion and the hurdles become huge and ungainly.

I thought Dustin Hoffman, in this interview, was wonderfully candid about his experience which is completely unique. No one else acted for success in a woman's persona. He was the only one having this experience in making the film. If he was not wonderfully in touch with his emotional mind we would have lost his insight.

Nothing but political propaganda. Cutting IRS funding is a prime example of GOP hubris.

They ought to cut funding to the Supreme Court.

WASHINGTON — The GOP-controlled House (click here) unveiled slashing cuts to the budget of the Internal Revenue Service on Tuesday, punishing the beleaguered department after it targeted tea party groups and other nonprofits seeking tax-exempt status.
The agency’s 2014 budget would be cut by $3 billion, or 24 percent below levels approved in March. Also, 10 percent of its budget for tax enforcement would be fenced off until the IRS implements recommendations by an agency watchdog designed to prevent further abuses.
The IRS cuts come after a wave of bad publicity for the agency including questionable spending on conferences like a lavish $4.1 million event in 2010 which included a “Star Trek” video parody and a $17,000 payment to a motivational speaker who was a painter....

This is outrageous. She was heavily sedated by an overdoes and no one did anything to reverse it?

Just get the organs harvested, huh? Why waste the effort to protect life before opting for organ harvesting. Unbelievable.

...The hospital's mishandling of the case was part of the reason the state Health Department fined St. Joe's $22,000 last September -- the largest fine levied against a Central New York hospital since 2002.
St. Joe's was fined $6,000 over the Burns case and $16,000 for leaving a patient unattended before she fell and injured her head in 2011...

How did any medical professional not even attempt CPR on a supposedly dying woman? One of the protocols in Advanced Cardiac Life Support is to check body chemistry and give a drug that reverses drug induced coma. Like, what is this?

...The state health department fined St Joseph's US$6000, after determining the hospital ignored signs she was still alive, such as her toes curling when a nurse scraped the bottom of her foot, her lips and tongue moving on the way to the operating room and her nostrils being flared - a sign she was still breathing....

There are many more vital signs that goes along with any overt signs of life that includes EKGs, blood pressure, pulse, auscultation of heart and breath sounds. What is going on in hospitals?

...A series of mistakes (click here) that began shortly after Burns arrived in the emergency room suffering from a drug overdose led to the near catastrophe, the investigations showed. A review by the state Health Department found:
*Staff skipped a recommended treatment to prevent the drugs the patient took from being absorbed by her stomach and intestines.
*Not enough testing was done to see if she was free of all drugs.
*Not enough brain scans were performed.
*Doctors ignored a nurse's observations indicating Burns was not dead and her condition was improving....
