Happy Hanukkah. It started during the USA Thanksgiving weekend, November 28, 2021.

It is a beautiful holiday, the festival of lights, that celebrates family. There are more than one acceptable ways of spelling the holiday.

Chanukah (click here) is the Jewish eight-day, wintertime “festival of lights,” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods.

The Hebrew word Chanukah means “dedication,” and is thus named because it celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple (as you’ll read below). Also spelled Hanukkah (or variations of that spelling), the Hebrew word is actually pronounced with a guttural, “kh” sound, kha-nu-kah, not tcha-new-kah....

Yes! There is absolutely no doubt Bezos put his thumb on the scale.

New York - The National Labor Relations Board (click here) has ordered a new union election for Amazon workers in Bessemer, Alabama based on objections to the first vote that took place in April.

The move, announced Monday, is a major blow to Amazon, which had spent about a year aggressively campaigning for warehouse workers in Bessemer to reject the union, which they ultimately did by a wide margin.

The board has not yet determined the date for the second election and it hasn’t determined whether it will be conducted in person or by mail.

The rare call for a do-over was first announced Monday by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, which spearheaded the union organizing movement....

The truth is OSHA needs to step in and conduct some heavy duty inspections of Amazon facilities. It is a rough place to work. There is a reason why Bezos is a billionaire. He cuts corners and causes hardship for his employees.

Amazon was invaluable during the pandemic, but, the employees were at chronic risk and indirectly so were the customers.

...“Turnover at Amazon (click here) is much higher than at many other companies—with an annual rate of roughly 150% for warehouse workers,” according to the New York Times. There have been many complaints from employees at Amazon’s fulfillment centers. Workers alleged that they are given back-breaking tasks in the warehouses. They also vent their dismay over intrusive surveillance technologies, including automated tracking systems and cameras that monitor their every move. There is a palpable fear that if workers don’t meet specified quotas, they’ll be fired. This has led to workers calling for a union. A union drive in Alabama was attempted, but was thwarted and didn’t succeed....

It is time to educate the public and medical providers to the best use of medical cannabis.

There is an opiod crisis. What is wrong with everyone?

...An overwhelming majority (84%) of the health care providers (click here) surveyed said that their patients had requested or asked about cannabis for chronic pain, with 72% reporting that they had been asked in the previous 30 days. Dr. Daniele Piomelli, the director of the Institute for the Study of Cannabis at the University of California, Irvine and a member of the UCI Institutional Review Board that approved the research, said in a press release that the study “emphasizes both the public interest around cannabis as an analgesic and the lack of reliable data and/or medical education about its correct use.”...

Oh, yeah. Marijuana is a "gateway drug." True, if one is talking about alcohol and tobacco, but, it does not lend itself to addiction to other substances.

...These findings are consistent (click here) with the idea of marijuana as a "gateway drug." However, the majority of people who use marijuana do not go on to use other, "harder" substances. Also, cross-sensitization is not unique to marijuana. Alcohol and nicotine also prime the brain for a heightened response to other drugs51 and are, like marijuana, also typically used before a person progresses to other, more harmful substances....

Can we please move this along? Bah-humbug to the Republican Party.

KEEP TALKING, MICHAEL.

Prosecutors in New York (click here) could “indict Donald Trump tomorrow if they really wanted and be successful”, the ex-president’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen said on Sunday, discussing investigations of Trump’s business affairs.

Asked if he was “confident you did help Donald Trump commit crimes”, Cohen told NBC’s Meet the Press: “I can assure you that Donald Trump is guilty of his own crimes. Was I involved in much of the inflation and deflation of his assets? The answer to that is yes.”

Cohen also repeated his contention that Trump will not run for the White House in 2024, because his huge fundraising success while hinting at such a run is too profitable a “grift” to give up.

The Manhattan investigation of the Trump Organization, including whether Trump cheated on property valuations for tax purposes, is one of a number of sources of legal jeopardy for the former president....

I don't know what kind of nonsense is going on behind the scenes to prevent an obvious indictment, but, the games are over. Four years of the Oval office power bidding was a "no mercy" game for Trump. He and the Republicans who love to play "no mercy" on the American people, need a sincere reality check. Trump needs to be indicted already.

And the Attorney General needs to act on the attempted coup on January 6, 2021. Yes, Trump attempted to coup the sitting president.

Time to call a tow truck. Seriously. Drowning is not worth it.

Front winches are worth their weight in gold. If the driver knows how to properly use one.

If anyone owns a four wheel drive there is an absolute reason to have a front winch.

They make great Christmas presents. Cost about $1000.00 installed. Good investment.

They look like trees our families would have in their homes. I think the decorations are great.

For those that don't like them, then they don't appreciate a Middle Class Christmas.

The White House decorations are great. I think they add a string sense of home. Everyone who celebrates Christmas will identify with those decorations. Lovely.
