Estranged Americans

There are Americans within the borders of the USA that are estranged from their democracy. This is a purposeful estangement to benefit a disgraced former president.

There have always been differences between political parties in the USA, but, this is different. This is an extremist wing of a once trusted Republican Party. The new estrangement of Americans is sustained by the promise of a majority of Republicans in 2022 and then re-election of the disgraced president in 2024. This estangement isn't even based in disappointed politics, it is based in violence.

It is getting scary and this estrangement force likes that idea of "being scared." "Where is your gun?", because, the political figures engaged in this estrangement believes strongly there needs to be a civil war that ends the USA Constitution. The estranging force is racism and has been engaged in larger and growing measure since the election of 2000 that lead to the ultimate defeat of "The Voting Rights Act of 1965." Now, today, after the Supreme Court declaring money as a citizen our democracy is hanging in the balance. If on January 6th the gallows at the US Capitol had no other meaning, it certainly symbolized the desire of the crowd to hang the USA Constitution an kill it to its very roots.

The picture above says it all. The democracy was assaulted on January 6th  by the very Americans that are estranged from the democracy for the purpose of obtaining the power of this government and economy. The USA has enormous power and that is what is at stake come 2022 and 2024. The people involved in this estrangement exercise are very guilty of turning against this USA Constitution.

Americans are being lead in the wrong direction by very powerful people. They are lead to believe if they stub their toe on the way to pay their taxes it is the government's fault and there should be insurrection and revolt. That is not a matter of choice, although they believe it is. There will be no revolt of the USA Constitution. I mean give me a break. Even the Christmas decorations are hated. This is an assault against the dignity of the people of this country and it is a crime against the US Constitution.

There goes FOX one more time, using disgusting analogies rather than facts.

FOX doesn't have facts to back up their propaganda, so they find a disgusting analogy in order to carry their estranged viewership.

Fox Nation anchor Lara Logan (click here) has compared Dr Anthony Fauci to infamous Nazi doctor Josef Mengele while complaining about Covid measures impacting rights and economy.

“This is what people say to me: that he [Dr Fauci] doesn’t represent science to them, he represents Josef Mengele, the Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the second world war in the concentration camps,” Ms Logan said on Fox News on Monday.

She added that “people all across the world are saying this,” without qualifying her comment with examples or proof. Josef Mengele was dubbed the “Angel of Death” for his deadly experiments on prisoners during the Holocaust at the Auschwitz concentration camp....

Rihanna has received a distinction of honor in Barbados. Very special.

November 30, 2021
By Tony Jones

During the ceremony (click here) applause rang out in National Heroes Square in the capital Bridgetown, when Dame Sandra was sworn in by chief justice Sir Marston Gibson and announced as “Her Excellency Dame Sandra Prunella Mason President of Barbados”.

Prince Charles represented the UK at the televised open-air ceremony and in a speech was also warmly acknowledged by the guests when he told the new republic: “I shall always consider myself a friend of Barbados.”

Charles’ speech was a positive message, as if written for a close acquittance, harbouring no regret at the decision taken by the Barbadian leaders, and it also acknowledge Britain’s role in the “appalling atrocity of slavery”.

He listed the ways he will “remain deeply committed to this very special country”, highlighting the ongoing efforts of his Prince’s Trust International charity in supporting Barbados’s young people and his work with their government on issues like climate change.

Rihanna, who flew back to Barbados for the event, touched her heart as she was praised by Ms Mottley, who quoted the singer’s own lyrics as she said: “May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honour to your nation by your words, by your actions and to do credit wherever you shall go.”...

"...era of biding time is over..."

It took decades of spying and trying since Nixon, but, China has finally achieved the status of enemy to The West. Tell me no one saw this coming.

Australia is the first to pick up on these changes because it has had a very close relationship with China for decades. Australia has always believed they would be great allies and now all that is changing. France really needs to lose it's anger over submarines. Austrialia is on the front lines of protecting The West and our democracies.

Omicron

I think the American people are ready for this mess. Vaccines, masks, social distancing and hand hygiene especially if touching the face and everyone should be good. I am surprised there is no current finding of Omicron in the USA, but, it might be contained.

Happy Hanukkah. It started during the USA Thanksgiving weekend, November 28, 2021.

It is a beautiful holiday, the festival of lights, that celebrates family. There are more than one acceptable ways of spelling the holiday.

Chanukah (click here) is the Jewish eight-day, wintertime “festival of lights,” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods.

The Hebrew word Chanukah means “dedication,” and is thus named because it celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple (as you’ll read below). Also spelled Hanukkah (or variations of that spelling), the Hebrew word is actually pronounced with a guttural, “kh” sound, kha-nu-kah, not tcha-new-kah....

Yes! There is absolutely no doubt Bezos put his thumb on the scale.

New York - The National Labor Relations Board (click here) has ordered a new union election for Amazon workers in Bessemer, Alabama based on objections to the first vote that took place in April.

The move, announced Monday, is a major blow to Amazon, which had spent about a year aggressively campaigning for warehouse workers in Bessemer to reject the union, which they ultimately did by a wide margin.

The board has not yet determined the date for the second election and it hasn’t determined whether it will be conducted in person or by mail.

The rare call for a do-over was first announced Monday by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, which spearheaded the union organizing movement....

The truth is OSHA needs to step in and conduct some heavy duty inspections of Amazon facilities. It is a rough place to work. There is a reason why Bezos is a billionaire. He cuts corners and causes hardship for his employees.

Amazon was invaluable during the pandemic, but, the employees were at chronic risk and indirectly so were the customers.

...“Turnover at Amazon (click here) is much higher than at many other companies—with an annual rate of roughly 150% for warehouse workers,” according to the New York Times. There have been many complaints from employees at Amazon’s fulfillment centers. Workers alleged that they are given back-breaking tasks in the warehouses. They also vent their dismay over intrusive surveillance technologies, including automated tracking systems and cameras that monitor their every move. There is a palpable fear that if workers don’t meet specified quotas, they’ll be fired. This has led to workers calling for a union. A union drive in Alabama was attempted, but was thwarted and didn’t succeed....

It is time to educate the public and medical providers to the best use of medical cannabis.

There is an opiod crisis. What is wrong with everyone?

November 24, 2021
By A. J. Harrington

...An overwhelming majority (84%) of the health care providers (click here) surveyed said that their patients had requested or asked about cannabis for chronic pain, with 72% reporting that they had been asked in the previous 30 days. Dr. Daniele Piomelli, the director of the Institute for the Study of Cannabis at the University of California, Irvine and a member of the UCI Institutional Review Board that approved the research, said in a press release that the study “emphasizes both the public interest around cannabis as an analgesic and the lack of reliable data and/or medical education about its correct use.”...

Oh, yeah. Marijuana is a "gateway drug." True, if one is talking about alcohol and tobacco, but, it does not lend itself to addiction to other substances.

...These findings are consistent (click here) with the idea of marijuana as a "gateway drug." However, the majority of people who use marijuana do not go on to use other, "harder" substances. Also, cross-sensitization is not unique to marijuana. Alcohol and nicotine also prime the brain for a heightened response to other drugs51 and are, like marijuana, also typically used before a person progresses to other, more harmful substances....

Can we please move this along? Bah-humbug to the Republican Party.

KEEP TALKING, MICHAEL.

Prosecutors in New York (click here) could “indict Donald Trump tomorrow if they really wanted and be successful”, the ex-president’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen said on Sunday, discussing investigations of Trump’s business affairs.

Asked if he was “confident you did help Donald Trump commit crimes”, Cohen told NBC’s Meet the Press: “I can assure you that Donald Trump is guilty of his own crimes. Was I involved in much of the inflation and deflation of his assets? The answer to that is yes.”

Cohen also repeated his contention that Trump will not run for the White House in 2024, because his huge fundraising success while hinting at such a run is too profitable a “grift” to give up.

The Manhattan investigation of the Trump Organization, including whether Trump cheated on property valuations for tax purposes, is one of a number of sources of legal jeopardy for the former president....

I don't know what kind of nonsense is going on behind the scenes to prevent an obvious indictment, but, the games are over. Four years of the Oval office power bidding was a "no mercy" game for Trump. He and the Republicans who love to play "no mercy" on the American people, need a sincere reality check. Trump needs to be indicted already.

And the Attorney General needs to act on the attempted coup on January 6, 2021. Yes, Trump attempted to coup the sitting president.

Time to call a tow truck. Seriously. Drowning is not worth it.

Front winches are worth their weight in gold. If the driver knows how to properly use one.

If anyone owns a four wheel drive there is an absolute reason to have a front winch.

They make great Christmas presents. Cost about $1000.00 installed. Good investment.

They look like trees our families would have in their homes. I think the decorations are great.

For those that don't like them, then they don't appreciate a Middle Class Christmas.

The White House decorations are great. I think they add a string sense of home. Everyone who celebrates Christmas will identify with those decorations. Lovely.

Happy Thanksgiving

Monday is proving to be a real let down from what everyone expected, a vaccinated and happy Christmas season. That may still be the reality if the latest viral mutation is contained which means 5 South African nations isolate those infected and not export the virus.

Let’s hope the Biden Safety Blockade of South African travelers works. My initial thought is that if the UK has it, the USA isn’t far behind. But, hopefully measures were put in place soon enough to keep the virus out of the country.

This latest virus is going to put a lot of strain on our borders, especially if there is no additional virus mutations in the USA. This holiday season will be once again a challenge, but, I am convinced we still can manage a joyful season.

Vaccine inequality.

WHO Dashboard (click here)

Africa has been doing the best of every continent on Earth. Did anyone except this?

This pandemic has little to nothing to do with the G20. I am sure there are measures made at the G20 to send more vaccine, but, in all honesty, economics and safety from a global pandemic is hardly an equivalent.

Equating government policy to a virus is exactly what has been the problem the entire time, especially in the USA where "Trump Denial Initative" caused a greater spread of the virus and geater number of deaths. The economy that was supposed to bring about jobs during the pandemic in the USA was the production of PPE and that never happened because Jared's buddy couldn't get the approvals of companies fast enough to stem the need.

Counting on business people during this pandemic has been the biggest mistake anyone ever made. Greed is what caused this pandemic when the USA pulled out of China's monitoring to reduce the federal budget under Trump.

Now, South Africa wants the entire world to live in denial. No one in South Africa deserves this outbreak. It happened and now we all have to deal with it. South Africa needs to stop exporting Omicron and hunker down for FOUR FULL WEEKS to end the virus spread. This is easier than anyone in South Africa cares to admit!

The Wall Street face to the pandemic. Complete and absolute denial of the danger. Amazing.

"One America," an absolutely magnificent gathering of Americans. "Happy New Year, America"

All flights from South Africa must stop.

November 27, 2021

These are people fleeing South Africa.

Amsterdam - Dutch health authorities (click here) said that 61 people who arrived in Amsterdam on two flights from South Africa on Friday tested positive for COVID-19, and they were conducting further testing early Saturday to see if any of the infections are with the recently discovered Omicron coronavirus variant....

The count in the Netherlands is now 61. Physicians in South Africa have no control over airport towers. The governments have to put a hold on all non-essential flights out of the country and into the country for that matter.

South Africans are best to be vaccinated and seek medical care as needed. That said, I am also confident medical facilities will be out of beds soon if not already. This is a problem for the international community. They need to respond with vaccines, COVID pills and any other needs of the people there. The people of South Africa must not be left isolated, alone and suffering.

Anytime a belief or behavior becomes obsessive and effects the wellness of a person, it enters into a mental health dominion. People are claiming religious exception for not taking the vaccine, that is a mental health issue. People are dying because of such mental health problems and it needs to be addressed so the illness and/or death of one person doesn't effect us all.

This is a virus and has potential for causing hardship to every person on Earth. This is not the mask of the devil. Idiots!

Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care of the United Kingdom, talks about Omicron exactly correct.

The government is supposed to protect the people. Placing travel bans and all sorts of quarantine measures is the correct way to think about Omicron. These measures "buy time" to be CERTAIN about the virility of this new virus mutation.

Omicron is exactly the virus all medical scientists have dreaded from the beginning and why people were told to get vaccinated and why shutdowns were incurred. Because a third level virus is dangerous. It can maneuver around immunity and infect anyway. Not only that but it will continue to mutate and could cause more problems.

Omicron is PROOF that all measures instututed by medical professions were correct, absolutely correct and important.

The vaccines were to prevent mutation, not encourage it. The scientists are absolutely correct. There is no reason to ignore or OPPOSE the guidance of scientists and their knowledge. THEY DO KNOW WHAT IS BEST.

Secretary Javid states this virus can be gone in weeks. That is because ISOLATION, quarantine and other GOVERNING measures will contain it and remove it from society.

All people STILL need to be vaccinated.

When Omicron is erased from society for it's quarantine, the potential for mutation any further will be erased as well.

END THE VIRUS SPREAD!

Every unvaccinated person has the potential of creating a monster virus. No one should embrace that possibility as a reason to believe all the more in Jesus! That level of religious obsession is a mental illness. Everyone needs a vaccine without exception to religion. Truly, has America become this stupid!

Omicron

Thirteen cases out of South Africa to the Netherlands by plane. Two cases in Australia. Australia is reporting they are asymptotic and fully vaccinated, but, testing positive. It is a wait and see situation. They are quarantined.

They probably won’t be allowed out of quarantine until they test negative.

Google has started its holiday page.

And of all places, Elk Rapids, Michigan has hired a consultant to end community discourse. Honestly. The social fabric of the USA is in significant disrepair.

Warning

The EU is shutting down travel from Africa for what appears to be a level three virus mutation that defies immunity.

This is a game changer. Ebola precautions are necessary. If that fails returning to shutdown necessary for at least 4 weeks.

In the USA, Thanksgiving is in full swing.

It won't be Thanksgiving, a two day federal holiday, without the Thanksgiving meal, family (all those new faces and babies) and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

China has become a dangerous place for human beings.

November 17, 2021
By Alexander Smith and Tim Stellah

The head of the Women’s Tennis Association (click here) cast doubt Wednesday on the veracity of an email attributed to Peng Shuai, the Chinese athlete who hasn’t been seen publicly since a post on her social media account made allegations of sexual assault against a former top official in the Chinese Communist Party.

Association chairman Steve Simon said in a statement that the email, which was sent to his organization and published by a verified Twitter feed of China’s state-owned English-language satellite news channel, only raised his “concerns about her safety and whereabouts.”

“I have a hard time believing that Peng Shuai actually wrote the email we received or believes what is being attributed to her,” Simon said, adding that the world needs “independent and verifiable proof that she is safe.”...

China is sincerely entering a new phase of international presence. It is seeking prestige through technology to the moon rather than allowing free expression of it's people. Prestige is important to communist regimes. They believe they can wage war with iconic images of people to state it is not a hostile country to The West. Poorer countries accept China's communist economic expansion as a way to have cheaper goods. But, what all the iconic people and thrifty economics China provides gives way to a better image and reputation for international understanding while domestically it is still a human rights abuser (click here). China absolutely loves the word "dissident" as if it's regime is going to fall because of them.

China is beginning to close down it's relationships with The West, wants to own Taiwan and end it's relationship with The West to bring economic ruin with it's semi-conductor industry.

Communism is not a philosophy that is kind to people, it enslaves them and takes away the very essence of human nature that fights oppression and self-expression. Zhang Zhen is a clear demostration of the oppression of China and it's desperation in image making. If she is still alive today her spiritual distress needs to end with her release and her wellness addressed.

This is the second time a popular political figure within a communist regime's reach have entered into hunger strikes, the other Alexei Navalny (click here). The hunger strikes are a SYMPTOM and not a demonstration of "will." Their hunger strikes are brought on by extreme oppression as they are used as suffering icons to enforce the regime in power. It is enlightening to many that know these incredible people to realize the power that suffering under the regime proves it's eminent loss of support internationally. That international pressure is an extension of the human struggle felt within these communist regimes.

19 November 2021

The United Nations (click here) has urged China to release a citizen journalist jailed for her coverage of the country’s Covid-19 response and who her family say is close to death after a hunger strike.

The UN rights office voiced alarm at reports that 38-year-old Zhang Zhan’s health was deteriorating rapidly and that her life was at serious risk from the hunger strike.

“We call on the Chinese authorities to consider Zhang’s immediate and unconditional release, at the very least, on humanitarian grounds, and to make urgent life-saving medical care available, respecting both her will and her dignity,” UN spokeswoman Marta Hurtado said....

I also find it alarming that two women are the subject of communist oppression at a time in The West when women are flourishing. That translates inside China as a reason to be cautious as women as to how they address "their place" within the country.

China was a hope by Wall Street to become another huge economic engine as is the USA. That is becoming less and less the case and only proves that China was interested in the wealth it could find to make it's regime stronger. China is deteriorating because it no longer has the ability to reach into USA corporate intelligence to carry out faux claims and seeks only to be a military power with it's reach into space as a method of tempering that image.

Joe Machin is going to lose his election. He is begging for money now.

Machin dollars (click here)

Machin is moaning about the pipeline to Biden for political reasons, not reasons of governance. His approval rating has dropped, but, so has his disapproval rating dropped. He is hoping come 2024, a presidential election year, his "uncertain" rating which has increased will carry him through another election.

Machin receives his election funding from oil & gas and other GOP sources. He isn't a Democrat, but, in saying so West Virginians believe their federal interests are balanced between the two parties, hence, Machin's boat and his claims of bipartisan influence.

By asking Biden to restore the XL pipeline he is looking for money from the GOP and his petroleum industry buddies. It is all quid pro quo and the Democrats have two years to find someone that can primary Machin and hope the people will back a new candidate that isn't as deceitful as Machin.

Machin can be viewed as a "Snyder Democrat," in one that doesn't care about potable water.

Nearly every corner of the world has opposed this pipeline and it is necessary to end the idea it is possible. Machin's petroleum buddies want him to hit back with the pipeline after COP26 and the emergence of the urgency of seeking the end of greenhouse gas emissions.

Machin is their puppet in quid pro quo.

The Democrats need to run real candidate that reflects hope to the people of West Virginia. Machin is nothing but more of the same corruption that has always existed.

President Biden is releasing oil from the national reserves. Every other president has done the same thing when prices were high. The prices locally have already dropped 24 cents. It is working. The people won't have this issue if they purchase electric vehicles and the sooner the better. Electricity is a stable price that can be counted on to increase job opportunity as well as stable energy costs. There won't be problems with a families budget day to day because of fossil fuel energy profiteers. Enough is enough. The American family needs safe and efficient transportation.

The computer chip/semi-conductor industry is becoming more dependable, even in difficult times caused by the pandemic. There is plant being planned by Samsung outside of Austin, Texas (click here). There isn't a Wall Street company involved with semi-conductors happy about sourcing Taiwan, now that China is being a real jerk about communism imposition. Communication companies that provide for social media are leaving China because of growing regulations and danger to their own people. It is time to make the USA completely self-contained in the needs that really are that of national security. I think Samsung is doing the right thing for their company as well as a more secure USA and it's economic engine.

August 7, 2020

In the West Virginia coalfields (click here) — on the edge of which my aunt and uncle live, and where I spent holidays and vacations as a kid — the economic mood ranges from depressed to apocalyptic. At one point, more than 100,000 West Virginians worked in the mines that produced well-paying jobs and gave people money to spend. That money spilled over into other sectors: retail, construction, and education, to name a few, and was the backbone of the state’s economy. Now, fewer than 20,000 locals work in these mines, and the jobs that do exist pay far less than they used to, thanks to successful anti-union actions by coal companies. As a result, a region that once boomed along with human consumption of fossil fuels is now littered with shuttered minesshuttered storefronts, and shuttered dreams....

West Virginians need to realize their needss are best filled by sincere Democrats that want to actually provide real jobs rather than the sparce number of coal jobs. Machin's corruption needs to be displayed and allow for a successful primary to elect a person that sincerely cares about West Virginian people.

Opposition to Keystone XL centered on the devastating environmental consequences (click here) of the project. The pipeline faced more than a decade of sustained protests from environmental activists and organizations; Indigenous communities; religious leaders; and the farmers, ranchers, and business owners along its proposed route. One such protest, a historic act of civil disobedience outside the White House in August 2011, resulted in the arrest of more than 1,200 demonstrators. “This is not a pipeline to America,” said the late civil rights activist Julian Bond, among the many arrested. “It’s a pipeline through America, and it threatens to be a disaster for us if it leaks poisons on the way.” Leading scientists and economists came out in opposition to the project, in addition to unions and world leaders such as the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and former president Jimmy Carter (together, these and other Nobel laureates have written letters against the project). In 2014, more than two million comments urging a rejection of the pipeline were submitted to the U.S. Department of State during a 30-day public comment period.

Latex allergy.

This is a random label to illustrate the point.

The labeling in some clothing, often in less expensive stores, is placed by stamping the letters onto the clothing. Folks with latex allergies are being treated with Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment or cream. That is not good. I am glad they have a medication to treat the choronic problem, but, to be exposed to it in the first place is dangerous.

The FDA should examine the stamped in lettering used in some clothing to determine if there should also be a warning label that the garment and/or it's label contains latex. Currently there are about 1 percent of Americans with a latex allergy.

Allergies of any kind can cause more than a dermititis. They can cause a deadly reaction called anaphylaxis. We need to be aware of such dangers and warn against them.

The manufacturers are always welcome to return to using removal label tags in their clothing.

Thank you.

Inclusion is important.

I was really pleased to see our society has finally caught up with modern times. This is a new shade of bandaid (click here) by Walgreens. It is fabric, generic and sells for $3.29. I am proud of Walgreens. They should keep up the good work. I can hold up head up a little higher everytime I walk into Walgreens now.

It is my opinion...

...the Supreme Court is playing god. I also believe Thomas has been siding with women as Ginsberg would have just so on he can be anti-women with this opinion.

The justices, except for Roberts, is deciding that the neural tube development at six weeks is the benchmark for a viable fetus rather than the 24-25 week which has been standard for any decision for the past fifty years.

FETAL PAIN has always been the issue. That developed out of the decision regarding late term abortions. NOW, the Justices, except for Robert and the three thinking judges, are attempting to move the benchmark to the first development of any nervous tissue at six weeks.

By the ninth week, (click here) the brain appears as a small, smooth structure. Over the course of pregnancy, the structure of the brain will change as it grows and begins to form the characteristic folds that designate distinct brain regions. Changes in brain anatomy reflect dramatic changes at the cellular level. Neurons in the different brain regions begin producing the chemical signaling molecules that will enable communication between nerve cells. The fiber pathways that will become the brain’s information superhighway are forming. The cells that will make up the neocortex—the part of the brain that coordinates sight, sound, spatial reasoning, conscious thought, and language—begin to communicate

Mayo

Week 6: The neural tube closes (click here)

Growth is rapid this week. Just four weeks after conception, the neural tube along your baby's back is closing. The baby's brain and spinal cord will develop from the neural tube. The heart and other organs also are starting to form.

Structures necessary to the formation of the eyes and ears develop. Small buds appear that will soon become arms. Your baby's body begins to take on a C-shaped curvature

Five CRACKPOTS on the court are attempting to argue there is no way of knowing if the fetus feels pain at six weeks, hence, that has to stand as the correct place for abortion.

It is taking the law into their own hands. The Rule of Law regarding fetal development has always been 24 to 25 weeks of development is the first time a fetus can feel pain because it is when the brain and spinal cord HOOK UP.

The FIVE CRACKPOTS, probably led by Alito, are assaulting the right of a full citizen of the USA in favor of the standard of an unborn fetus. Now, is the time to end all requirements for abortion and go back to patient - doctor confidentiality.

The EXTREMIST argument is based on the idea that SPASTIC movements “in utero” like thumb sucking is all conscious movement.

IT IS A LIE!!!!!

The Five Crackpots are ignoring the Rule of Law and a 50 year precedent to overthrow this democracy for a Christian theocracy. They should be impeached!!!

The looting is continuing in vulnerable communities.

"
Moring Papers"

The Rooster

"Okeydoke"

I suggest President Biden begin to ask the country to be careful and make example of New York City. Guns are of little use and even can be used against occupants of any building, home or apartment unless there is a warning system to wake people from their sleep.

Residents in New York City place barricades on doors and windows to prevent crime. It is the way it is and residents accept it and move to protect themselves and their property from crime.

I think people willing to be corrupt and even criminal have learned that looting can be a reason to defeat police and profit besides. These folks are not doing Christmas shopping or filling in a wardrobe, they are taking objects for profit. It is time citizens EMPOWER THE POLICE to RETURN their communities to peaceful streets by using security devices to protect themselves and their property.

Fire officials will have good advise as to the types of devices to use in any building, home or apartment. Security devises cannot interfere with fire codes otherwise tragedy will occur.

Everyone that witnessed Rittenhouse's spree killing of people attempting to disarm him, took the wrong message away. They believe Rittenhouse is the best option for a modern day society. That is incorrect and Rittenhouse should be in prison for the crimes he committed that night including gun law violations. But, debating it isn't going to settle the real issues of personal security.

The police are empowered when citizens are using strong security measures that deter crime. Guns complicate the circumstances people face and personal security measures empowers police to once again patrol the streets without worrying about constant assaults of crime to the cities that employ them.

I might add, women do well when they own a dog for protection. They even get safe exercise when walking the dog without assault.

Here it is, captured by photographers around the world as our satellite rose spectacularly—and from some locations was eclipsed by the Earth.

If you were in Europe it looked liked any other rising full Moon—spectacular, for sure, though nothing out of the ordinary ... if you can call a glowing orbiting orb “ordinary.”

For those in North America, Australia and eastern Asia the full Moon went a copper-reddish color at all but a slither of its surface entered Earth’s shadow in space....

Peng Shual is a global citizen with a global reputation. People will not lose interest in her simply because China is being oppressive.

November 21, 2021
By Matthew Futterman and Christopher Clarey

Nearly two weeks after people across the world (click here) began asking “Where is Peng Shuai?,” two questionable videos surfaced Saturday on social media of a person who appears to be the Chinese tennis star at a restaurant.

The videos were shared on Twitter by the editor of a state-run newspaper, but the seemingly unnatural conversation in one video and the unclear location and dates of both raised questions about Peng’s safety and whether she was appearing in the videos of her own free will. A third video, said to be of Peng at a tennis match in Beijing, was posted about 10 hours later, on Sunday.

Peng, in a social media post this month, accused a former top government official of sexually assaulting her. After the allegation, the Chinese government removed almost all references of Peng on social media within the country, and Peng disappeared from public life. Her absence prompted outrage across the world, especially from top officials and stars in tennis....

Now many of them gone, because we don't have a forest anymore. Some birds died, some moved to different areas. Some come to our gardens and destroy our crops," he says.

"I saw how the environment was changing because of illegal logging," Sokhin tells NPR. "But the big picture wasn't there. I thought, 'What if I extend a little bit?'"

Eight years and thousands of miles later, the result is Warm Waters, (Schilt Publishing, 2021) an exploration of climate change traveling across 18 countries and off-the-map territories seen by seldom few....

Her name is Elizabeth Ann.

Lamar - Somewhere between the comforts of a plastic tote (click here) outfitted with clean, shredded paper and a bloody quarter of a prairie dog for snacks, and the yawning dark hole he was being tipped into as hawks circled above, North America’s rarest mammal had the genetic weight of the world on its furry shoulders.

Black-footed ferret No. 10,166 clung desperately to the inside of a black PVC tube. The tawny kit appeared reluctant to dive into a lonely prairie dog hole five hours’ drive from the breeding center near the Wyoming border and take on the responsibility of restoring a species thought extinct until 1981.

It chattered like a psychotic dolphin, alternately retreating and lunging at the heavy leather gloves of the handler. Elsewhere on the unplowed shortgrass prairies of sprawling May Ranch, 14 other kits were about to go down other holes....

Her name is Elizabeth Ann and she gives hope to the return of critically endangered species.

Scientists (click here) have successfully cloned a wild black-footed ferret that died more than 30 years ago, according to a statement from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). The young clone, born December 10, 2020 and named Elizabeth Ann, is the first ever native endangered species to be cloned in the United States, reports Douglas Main for National Geographic.

Once thought to be globally extinct, black-footed ferrets are one of North America’s rarest land animals, clinging to the hem of existence through painstaking captive breeding and reintroduction programs. With her unique DNA, Elizabeth Ann has the potential to be a source of much-needed genetic diversity to the inbred reintroduced population, which currently hovers between 400 and 500 individuals and remains severely threatened by disease....

Anything at all to make a buck. A decade ago Antarctica tourism was unheard of and it should have remained that way.

We tend to think Antarctica (click here) is isolated and far away – biologically speaking, this is true. But the continent is busier than you probably imagine, with many national programs and tourist operators crisscrossing the globe to get there.

And each vessel, each cargo item, and each person could be harbouring non-native species, hitchhiking their way south. This threat to Antarctica’s fragile ecosystem is what our new evaluation, released today, grapples with.

We mapped the last five years of planes and ships visiting the continent, illuminating for the first time the extent of travel across the hemispheres and the potential source locations for non-native species, as the map below shows. We found that, luckily, while some have breached Antarctica, they generally have yet to get a stranglehold, leaving the continent still relatively pristine.

But Antarctica is getting busier, with new research stations, rebuilding and more tourism activities planned. Our challenge is to keep it pristine under this growing human activity and climate change threat....

Microcystins is the toxin produced by Blue-Green algae.

Straved Rock State Park - Barges carrying mounds of coal (click here) toward St. Louis passed by Starved Rock at a snail’s pace, inching past yellow-orange trees and sandstone canyons. A bald eagle hovered above a path leading hikers toward Lover’s Leap. Near the Starved Rock Lock and Dam, a pinch point along the Illinois River, the water was dull and unremarkable.

But the area is home to a problem that taints waters throughout the state: toxic algae blooms.

In June, its surface was streaked with neon green. The bloom, one of dozens sampled this year throughout Illinois, contained levels of a potent toxin more than 30 times above the advised state recreational standard.

Blooms of cyanobacteria, or blue-green algae, happen when, given the right mix of conditions including temperature, sunlight and excess nutrients, the microscopic organisms proliferate to the extent that it sometimes looks like someone dumped paint in the water.

The rise of blooms appears to be connected to human-caused climate change. Along with nutrient overload from intense storms, warming air temperatures — and in turn warming water temperatures — can feed blooms....

It is so strange to think about toxic algal blooms caused by the climate crisis and coal is one of the biggest greenhouse gas polluters. So, here are barges full of coal floating past the algal bloom which it causes.

Europe is moving on greenhouse gas emissions, but, as is the case globally, not enough yet.

Europe's climate (click here) is warming much faster than the rest of the world and scientists are trying to understand why.

The world is nowhere near on track to limiting the global temperature rise to the 1.5 degrees Celsius required by the Paris Agreement, the international treaty negotiated at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) in Paris in 2015. In fact, latest predictions show that globally, the climate is set to get on average 2.4 degrees C warmer compared to the pre-industrial era, unless emissions of greenhouse gases are drastically cut.

But not all parts of the world are set to be hit equally. Europe, in fact, has already passed the 1.5-degree C threshold and is currently 2.2 degrees C warmer than it was before the industrial revolution, Samantha Burgess, deputy director for climate change services at the European Earth observation program Copernicus, said Tuesday (Nov. 2) in a briefing at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) that is concluding this week in Glasgow, Scotland.
