Rumors (click here) surfaced this week that New Jersey governor and potential 2016 candidate Chris Christie was facing a new criminal investigation.
MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” of all places, found out that those rumors are not quite true Friday.
“Any characterization that we are investigating the Governor about this is just not true,” the U.S. attorney’s office in New Jersey told MSNBC. “[W]e talk to people all the time. It doesn’t mean we’re investigating anybody....
I would imagine a Governor would be asked about many things by a US Attorney. I have said it before and I'll say it again, leave Christi alone. He isn't that kind of person. Dems keep getting caught in their own deceptions and lies. That isn't good. Crying wolf will lead to a disinterested public and when it is important they won't be there to hear it.
I want to see the next generation of federal office holders from the Democratic Party. I want to hear about state legislature stars and the legislation that should be considered for a federal agenda. The next platform for the Democrats should be sculpted now based in successes in state legislatures. The Dems have to engage the discussions and not just reactionary to the outrageous ideas of Republicans. The Dems have to lead and give people a clear vision of the potential for success in their lives when Democrats are elected. The Blue States have a lot of success and the quality of life is the best in the country. Those accomplishments are not frivolous. The accomplishments of Democrats should be part of the daily diet for Americans. Democrats are not ideologues. Programs that are proven to work should be brought to the federal level from the states along with promising and up and coming candidates.
2020 is around the corner when a new census will dictate federal districts. We need not only Democrats in the US Congress, but, in governorships and state legislatures. That is a lot of work, we need to get started.
This Christi stuff is all negative campaigning. People don't like it. When a US Attorney comes out with indictments then I'll pay attention.
