Where is anyone getting the idea there was no guns involved in the violence in Boston this week? It wasn't just the police armed with guns. A policeman was assassinated.
Boston Police Officers Shot by the Tsarnaev Brothers Were Classmates

The manhunt for Dzhokhor Tsarnaev began late Thursday evening after 26-year-old MIT campus police officer Sean Collier was found shot to death in his vehicle. The ensuing gunfight in Watertown that killed his older brother and accomplice, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, also left 33-year-old MBTA officer Richard Donohue in critical condition. Now that the lockdown on Boston has lifted and Dzhokhor is in custody, the city has begun mourning Collier and pulling for Donohue — two men who graduated together from the same MBTA Transit Police Academy Class in 2010 and who remained friends, according to the New York Times....
One can assume the bombers also had guns on their persons if they were found out. I don't know that for sure. I did say assume. I don't think anyone knows that. None of the guns showed up on pictures unless they were noted as bulges in their clothing. The bombers intended for any witnesses to be dead and bedlam to ensue. But, after their pictures were released we know for sure they armed themselves with guns, pipe bombs and at least one other pressure cooker bomb.
Where anyone gets the idea this is not a gun issue is anyone's guess.
These two men were not very different than the Columbine murderers. They wanted to save the world from itself and were armed with guns and pipe bombs to make it happen. Just because Columbine didn't have pressure cooker bombs doesn't mean this isn't the same type of event. It is exactly the same kind of event. It was a place where people, many of them young people the age of the bombers/gunmen, gathered to celebrate life and the human potential. Is a school not the same thing? Do young people not gather at school to realize their human potential? I do believe it is. But, the methodology of both instances were exactly the same. It can be argued, the Columbine murderers were actually more successful in the end.
This dynamic is EXCLUSIVELY an American issue. We know that for a fact. While other countries may have people that want to save the world from itself, the USA turns it's passions on it's people and kills them as if an enemy. The politics is removed and violence is introduced. Why? Because the weapons of violence are easily available and at the ready. That's why. This is an American issue.
Even the Syrian Rebels don't have the munitions these young men did. The people of Benghazi were being killed by assassins and had no way to retaliate. They weren't armed. They didn't have pressure cooker bombs or the knowledge of them available to make them an EQUALIZER. This is an American problem which brings me to the discussion this evening. This is completely ridiculous in this country.
