Impoverishing the American Middle Class only defeats the economy of the USA.

President Obama gave an excellent speech today at the Associated Press luncheon. Adjectives he used about the economy the GOP is proposing are Trojan Horse, radical and thinly veiled Social Darwinism.

He is correct. The GOP have designed an economic strategy for the wealthy. What the GOP never reflects on is the beauty of the American Dream. They call upon the words "American Exceptionalism," but, they don't speak to the truth of that opportunity.

The USA's exceptional place in the world is due to the strength of the Middle Class. It is a unique capacity in the world. The promise in the USA has always been that if a person applies themselves to addressing a "hope" for a future better than they were born into, it is possible to achieve it. That is not exclusively for lottery winners, but, it does REQUIRE the ability to achieve those goals.

The USA's birth right is the opportunity for a future that actually builds a unique economy. The USA's economy has always been powered by the large number of consumers within its borders due to its Middle Class. The promise of upward mobility 'is the economy' of the USA.

Education

Work

Safe living conditions

The USA promises to it's citizens the future holds more rewards then today. Retirement is coined as "The Golden Years." Retirement as a healthy person is a reward with the benefits of enjoyment POSTPONED in order to achieve those coveted years.

The GOP has no right to simply look into the pocketbooks of Americans to find where 'vats of money' lie in order to derive schemes to feed the wealthy. Changes in Social Security, Medicare and our entitlements are not a reasonable place to seek cuts in benefits. Seeking to improve health care delivery, which was a priority with the Affordable Care Act, to make it less costly to each member of an exchange will reduce the cost of Medicare.

The USA economy has not reached it's pinnacle of development. It is still expanding and adding jobs. The GDP is increasing. There is nothing static about this economy and the 'bottom line' is not set. The capacity of the Middle Class is the strength of this economy and the more people enjoying the benefits of the Middle Class the stronger the economy becomes. We have seen record setting statistics of impoverishment of Americans since 2008. Moving those people to the Middle Class, re-establishing them into the Middle Class only improves the size of our economy.

Subsistence economies where people scrape by do not grow, they stagnate. Middle Class statistics are all part of a viable and vibrant economy. The American Dream, the American Birth Right, the American Promise, "Hope," upward mobility and opportunity IS a strong economy. Inherent to the American MIddle Class is a strong economy. We need to continue to recover our economy and strengthen our country. I believe President Obama has proven his ability to direct and inspire our recovery.
