Photographers sates :: A second picture of the Storm Front, a fairy impressive sight. A fair bit of rain in this one, with plenty of Thunder & Lightning
This is a hurricane front. The years I have been reading Australian newsprint I have never heard of a hurricane crossing Australia. As one can tell the photographer is naming this as a storm. It looks exactly like the front that crossed eastern North Caroline when "Dennis" came through. There isn't usually thunder and lightning with hurricanes so much as tornadoes.
